CM200, CM185 were fun little bikes especially for us not so tall riders. Ideal for in town errands or whatever. And even at highway speeds, the bikes were nimble. I still own one for fun
My very first motorcycle was a blue 1983 Twinstar. What a fun little bike that was!! I never did any Interstate riding, but it would certainly keep up with 55 mph traffic on state and US highways, with just enough torque left to help me escapte trouble situations. I was only 120 lbs, all those years ago, and not much of a burden for the bike to haul.
You scored good I just got a 1979 185, Never thought , It turned out to be a 6 volt, Very hard to get a good 6 volt battery, You got the first year of 12 volt, Congradulations, Don;t even get a 1980 because it will be a 6 volt
I have a 1981 Twinstar as well! The hardest part to find is the tank lid. Even if you do find it, it'll be partial or in rough shape. Whether you keep or sell, I'd rattle can the tank to protect it (because the tanks in good condition are worth a ton). You can find almost everything else for this bike but a replacement tank because of the location of the ignition coil. The cutout on the center channel for the coil makes it a pain to find a replacement.
I'm glad you put the headlight back on before going out on the street. Id re-cover that seat, even if you just use black duct tape...so the foam isn't exposed to the elements. Or use that stretchy vinyl that has a sticky side.
I got a question. I recently had got myself a 1979 Honda twinstar CM185T🎉. I was wondering where you had gotten the switch for the bike for ignition and where I might be able to get tires for it as well:)
I got my ignition switch from Amazon amzn.to/3uPUCYE. Tires are easy. Check your current tires for the size for both front and rear and google it. You are going to need tubes also. Send me an email motorcyclerewind@gmail.com if you need some more help.
@@motorcyclerewind Awesome! thank you so much. I get my paycheck in a couple days, I’ll order it and let you know how it goes. When I try the kickstart it has a little rumble and my spark plugs look brand new if you want I can send you a photo or video of the bikes condition I’m not an expert so it’d be nice to have a better eye lol
I happen to get one of these for free, the guy said “it needs an ignition” as vague as that was I’m guessing it’s the CDI box if anyone has an extra it’ll be a great help!
@@motorcyclerewind i dont think Amazon works as far as East Africa💁♂️ But how did u choose the terminals of the wires that bring power to the coil and then the wires that fire the pistons Is da connections either way or it has a specific pattern
I think I am going to build it with pieces and parts we already have here with the exception for tires and any fab work. I was in the attic the other day looking for possibilities and found something that needs to be on this Twinstar. Thanks for watching. Stay tuned.

Fun little bikes. Thanks for watching.
My 185, love it, 1978
Nice work bike sounds great! Ride safe everyone!
Such a fun little bike. Thanks for watching.
Love the Positive mental attitude you have with these old bikes, great post
Thanks Mark, I really enjoy bringing these bikes back to life!

They are great little bikes.
Free bikes are the best!
Yes they are.

I buy 6 volt batteries from Home Depot. I use alarm batteries. They’re super cheap and available.
Thanks for watching.

I have the tank lid have it off because I couldn’t get it to latch. So I just pulled it off. I will sort that out later. Thanks for watching.
I think I have a spare tank
We’re are the timing marks?Thanks
Wish I had another old Honda been 5 years now. Can’t find cheap bikes here anymore or any that I can afford 😳🤔😔
Where are you located? Let me see if I can help.
I vote just bob the fender, slap on a simple pan seat without springs, small headlight, and cool taillight. Cheap bobber for like $500 or less
I love it.

A cover for it is pretty cheap. The good thing about the exposed foam is that it dissipates heat so no, hot seat on sunny day.
I've got one picked up for 400, one cylinder only has 35 psi. I'm hoping cleaning up the valves and setting the valve lash will bring that back up...
Hoping it works out for you. Thanks for watching
Restore it , it deserves it
We gave it a makeover. Check out those videos.

I have one. Whoever contacts me first gets it. MotorcycleRewind@gmail.com or on Instagram.
Turning that into a chopper would be sweet!
Can you see it. Raked front end peanut tank. Painted like Captain America, but with the Japanese flag bobber rear end. 😂
i have a CM200T TWINSTER 1980 but problem is a spare ignition coil
they are no where to be found in Uganda😁😁😁
Soooo i just parked i
I found one on Amazon.

thank you very much for the clip. I'm wondering, does the cylinder head from 200t fit over to cb 125 t. greetings from stig.
Never tried. Now I'm curious...
I have also cm200 but sad alternator burns i can’t find in Nepal it’s been almost 1years
That stinks. Send me an email motorcyclerewind@gmail.com. Let’s see if we can source one for you.
Scrambler build!

Turn it into a fun bobber!
That’s two votes for bobber.
Should have linked the switch
I just googled ignition switch for TwinStar. Found one on Amazon.
Where did you get he coil?
I keep coils in stock both one and two wire ones. Just universal coils I get on eBay.
Has anyone been able to find a cdi box for these? I have a cm200t in immaculate condition. But it’s missing the cdi and harness has been cut
I have a CDI that I did not need. If you want it. Email me MotorcycleRewind@gmail.com
@@motorcyclerewind excuse my ignorance but what is CDI
You could even build Cafe racer out of it.
Turned it into a Pizza getter!
Do you still have this?
No. Gave it to a girl who had her CM200 stolen. Thanks for watching.
A good clean, get a bit of the rust off, recover the seat and move it on 🙂 Unless the exhausts would fit your wife’s 400?
I am gonna have to clean it before I give it an oil change. There’s a lot of rat poo.💩💩💩💩
