HI have around 3-5k hours of hypixel skyblock in my 4+ years and quit about 8 months ago. it was fun but super addictive. I would recommend the game if your super bored and have nothing to do during summer break but overall I would recommend finding less time investing games to play.
most people think the game is all about grinding but its really how u play it, u can be endgame without ever touching mining or farming and you are allowed to do what ever you want. I think right now the game is in an amazing place for new players and its honestly worth playing if you have a lot of free time (amazing vid btw really make skyblock seem so much more fun)
How can you be endgame without touching the 2 best main ways to make money, also you still need to do them for the xp as currently "endgame" is concidered lvl 400 and up. Though the definition of endgame changes all the time
By most people’s definition of endgame you HAVE to do all the skills to max level, but I agree you can get pretty far into the game while trying to optimize for “fun” instead of just following the most sweaty strategies to progress.

As someone who has sunk more time then they’ve willing to admit, I will say this: Skyblock is like crack. You try it out because you’re curious, and it turns out to be really fun. So you go back again, and get a similar experience. Fast forward a bit and now you need to do more to get less of a dopamine hit. Keep continuing the cycl, and eventually you start to lose days at a time. You’ll realize what you’re doing is barely even enjoyable and you should stop. Some can break the addiction, some can’t.

I used to play Skyblock the day it came out, me and my cousin would play every single day up until we were satisfied with our dragon armor and the game became too grindy with the slayer quest concept. Years later we came back and were met with a completely different game, the dragon armor wasnt the best anymore, our coin balance was puny due to all the inflation and we were completely lost due to all the new items and dimensions. This was a great chance to "start again" but it wasn't really what we were looking for, we were sadly (or thankfully) never able to adapt. Great video mate, loved the OST choices, you have amazing taste :)

I was on a long car ride, although I have a lot of experience with skyblock, I was thinking of coming back, and this video was extremely entertaining and informative!
One of the biggest frustrations I have with Skyblock is how toxic the game can feel at times. You have to share too many things with other players-like the mobs you kill, the ores you mine, the trees you chop, the Jerry’s that spawn, and even the crops you farm at the beginning. Everyone wants as much of everything as possible to grind for, and this makes the game really annoying, especially for early players. For example, let's say you just started and want to grind for Ender armor. You're struggling to kill even one Enderman and doing everything you can to finally take one down, but then a high-level player zooms by and kills it in one hit. You try again, only to have the kill stolen once more. This problem persists even in the later stages of the game, whether you're farming mobs for slayers or killing mobs for commissions in the Dwarven Mines. It feels like a constant fight for survival to get your fair share, which really adds to the toxicity. I personally try to be fair when playing on public islands. For instance, if I’m farming mobs, I’ll split the area-one side for me and one for the other player. But even then, people are often too greedy, trying to take as much as they can, ignoring the idea of sharing or splitting the space. I really wish there was a way to make everything unique to each player. For instance, if someone mines an ore, it should still be available for others. If someone kills a mob, it shouldn't be "gone" for you. This would make the game feel much more balanced and less toxic. Another issue is the way you level up skills, which feels really boring. They should take inspiration from RuneScape. In RuneScape's dungeons, there are many skills to train, each offering meaningful progression. For example, you can mine ores to get mining XP, then smelt those ores into bars. You can use these bars to craft armor and weapons, which gives you smithing XP. You can fish for food to get fishing XP, then cook that food for cooking XP. You can craft runes to train runecrafting, which lets you cast spells in combat. All of these activities feel rewarding because they contribute to your progression in the dungeons and are much more engaging. Hypixel could implement something similar, where the higher your completion rank in a dungeon, the bigger the bonus XP for all the skills you trained within it. In RuneScape you also have quests that rewards you with skill xp for certain skills.

Can I just say that this is such an amazing video! I rarely comment or sub to people but this video was just straight 🔥. Well earned sub! As a longtime skyblock player myself, I 100% agree with your stance. Farming on the garden is unbearable, the amount of hours you have to invest in punching crops is in my opinion excessive. However I have friends *cough cough* weirdos, who somehow enjoy it? And yeah, the progression is so well designed and the interdependence between game aspects is crazy. There are still some underdeveloped skills like alchemy and foraging and upgrading these skills is just downright boring (particularly foraging as it isn't afkable). But regardless, there are some many things that people can do to make money and progress in the game that you can just practically skip these things. Only other issue is my horrendous lag. But that's not something that Hypixel can solve. RIP Melody accessory and Dojo. Even though there was so much great content covered in your video, the great part about skyblock is that is just the tip of the iceberg. Would love to see more videos like this (potentially more skyblock ones? Going through all the dungeon floors and completing the Mommy/Crimson Isle questline + defeating kuudra is cool/makes you rich). All in all, great video, I love watching videos like this, particularly from smaller creators who do such an amazing job and getting the recognition they deserve. Best skyblock video since the Great Potato war (arguably better than Technoblade). Wish you all the best in the future!
next video should cover the rest of everything that i believe this game has to offer, before leaving it off when it actually just becomes a meaningless SkyBlock XP grind. depending on how much my audience enjoys SkyBlock videos, may make a "What would you change about SkyBlock?" kind of video and if that does well, then i have a fair amount of content idea options i can work with lol depends on my motivation as well. i kinda got to a point where im writing videos for other servers, so idk how long it'll be before i return to SkyBlock to actually finish up recording the rest of the content like M7 + Cata 50, Kuudra T5 grinding, and Blaze Slayer, and eventually Foraging when that comes out. Mountaintop Rift update gonna go hard too!!

I used to play Skyblock the day it came out, me and my cousin would play every single day up until we were satisfied with our dragon armor and the game became too grindy with the slayer quest concept.
Years later we came back and were met with a completely different game, the dragon armor wasnt the best anymore, our coin balance was puny due to all the inflation and we were completely lost due to all the new items and dimensions. This was a great chance to "start again" but it wasn't really what we were looking for, we were sadly (or thankfully) never able to adapt.

One of the biggest frustrations I have with Skyblock is how toxic the game can feel at times. You have to share too many things with other players-like the mobs you kill, the ores you mine, the trees you chop, the Jerry’s that spawn, and even the crops you farm at the beginning. Everyone wants as much of everything as possible to grind for, and this makes the game really annoying, especially for early players.
For example, let's say you just started and want to grind for Ender armor. You're struggling to kill even one Enderman and doing everything you can to finally take one down, but then a high-level player zooms by and kills it in one hit. You try again, only to have the kill stolen once more. This problem persists even in the later stages of the game, whether you're farming mobs for slayers or killing mobs for commissions in the Dwarven Mines.
It feels like a constant fight for survival to get your fair share, which really adds to the toxicity. I personally try to be fair when playing on public islands. For instance, if I’m farming mobs, I’ll split the area-one side for me and one for the other player. But even then, people are often too greedy, trying to take as much as they can, ignoring the idea of sharing or splitting the space.
I really wish there was a way to make everything unique to each player. For instance, if someone mines an ore, it should still be available for others. If someone kills a mob, it shouldn't be "gone" for you. This would make the game feel much more balanced and less toxic.
Another issue is the way you level up skills, which feels really boring. They should take inspiration from RuneScape. In RuneScape's dungeons, there are many skills to train, each offering meaningful progression. For example, you can mine ores to get mining XP, then smelt those ores into bars. You can use these bars to craft armor and weapons, which gives you smithing XP. You can fish for food to get fishing XP, then cook that food for cooking XP. You can craft runes to train runecrafting, which lets you cast spells in combat.
All of these activities feel rewarding because they contribute to your progression in the dungeons and are much more engaging. Hypixel could implement something similar, where the higher your completion rank in a dungeon, the bigger the bonus XP for all the skills you trained within it.
In RuneScape you also have quests that rewards you with skill xp for certain skills.

As a longtime skyblock player myself, I 100% agree with your stance. Farming on the garden is unbearable, the amount of hours you have to invest in punching crops is in my opinion excessive. However I have friends *cough cough* weirdos, who somehow enjoy it? And yeah, the progression is so well designed and the interdependence between game aspects is crazy.
There are still some underdeveloped skills like alchemy and foraging and upgrading these skills is just downright boring (particularly foraging as it isn't afkable). But regardless, there are some many things that people can do to make money and progress in the game that you can just practically skip these things. Only other issue is my horrendous lag. But that's not something that Hypixel can solve. RIP Melody accessory and Dojo.
Even though there was so much great content covered in your video, the great part about skyblock is that is just the tip of the iceberg. Would love to see more videos like this (potentially more skyblock ones? Going through all the dungeon floors and completing the Mommy/Crimson Isle questline + defeating kuudra is cool/makes you rich).
All in all, great video, I love watching videos like this, particularly from smaller creators who do such an amazing job and getting the recognition they deserve. Best skyblock video since the Great Potato war (arguably better than Technoblade). Wish you all the best in the future!
next video should cover the rest of everything that i believe this game has to offer, before leaving it off when it actually just becomes a meaningless SkyBlock XP grind. depending on how much my audience enjoys SkyBlock videos, may make a "What would you change about SkyBlock?" kind of video and if that does well, then i have a fair amount of content idea options i can work with lol
depends on my motivation as well. i kinda got to a point where im writing videos for other servers, so idk how long it'll be before i return to SkyBlock to actually finish up recording the rest of the content like M7 + Cata 50, Kuudra T5 grinding, and Blaze Slayer, and eventually Foraging when that comes out. Mountaintop Rift update gonna go hard too!!

I gotta say having just logged by 1600th hour into skyblock and having spent years consuming skyblock media, this is by far the best skyblock video I have seen since the third installment of Technoblade's potato war series. The editing, MUSIC, narration, did I mention the music? Phenomenal job and thank you for putting such effort into showing off what has become my favorite and most played game of all time.
