- In this Wednesday episode, Patrick and Stuart welcome friends and guests to the chateau for a party to celebrate the viewing of the Tour de France. Stage 10 of the 2024 Tour de France passes just 400 m from the front door of the Château de Colombe! They show highlights from the long caravan that precedes the peloton of cyclists, as well as the moment when the group of cyclists actually pass by. Patrick and Stuart also show the beginning of the renovation work in the chateau side kitchen with help from friend Tony @notquiteachateaudiy .

Brilliant shot of the cyclists ..🚴 🚴♀️🚴♂️ and everyone looking sun kissed happy and healthy🌞🥰
Thank you Sorcha. It was amazing and we all had a great time. ❤❤❤
And I could actually recognize some of them! Vingegaard, Pogachar, Groenewegen, Garaint Thomas. Cool!
Tony ia just amazing! "Jack of all trades" So nice to have him to help you! ❤
That was fun. I really enjoyed it. It is amazing they can ride so close to each other. The side kitchen got a lot done. Tony is a champ.❤
Hi darling Peter. It was truly mind blowing. Love it. The side kitchen is coming along and we think it will look wonderful. Tony is amazing indeed. Sending love and hoping all is well. ❤❤❤
It was wonderful to see the cyclists so up close. Great job with getting the plumbing and electrical all sorted. Your hydrangeas are gorgeous. Sending love and hugs to your dogs 🐶 😍😘
Thank you Rosemarie. We were blown away. This was fantastic. 🍾💗😍. We love our hydrangeas. Planning to plant more. Love and hugs (and licks from the dogs) from Colombe ❤❤❤
🇨🇵🚴♀️🇨🇵🚴♂️🇨🇵🚴🇨🇵🚴♀️🇨🇵🚴♂️🇨🇵🚴🇨🇵
🥂🍾Patrick & Stuart,🥂🍾
Thanks for hosting the Tour de France and for inviting us to come too!
🇨🇵🚴♀️🇨🇵🚴♂️🇨🇵🚴🇨🇵🚴♀️🇨🇵🚴♂️🇨🇵🚴🇨🇵
Th k you Ray. It was truly amazing and we are so happy you were with us. Hugs from Colombe 😊😊😊
Exciting opportunity to see the Tour de France so close. May I add how beautiful and vibrant those hydrangeas are!
Hugs Grace. It was absolutely amazing. And the hydrangeas….. we might film in front of them again. ❤❤❤. Love from Colombe
What gorgeous Hydrangeas, um jealous lol, I've only popcorn pink. What a wonderful experience with TourDe 🇫🇷... sink looks much better out the way 😊
💜💙💚 Wonderful to see the Tour de France.
It was absolutely amazing ❤❤❤
Stuart & Patrick, thank you for such a wonderful video! How amazing that the race went right by your chateau. And even better, you were able to enjoy it with friends. So cool!
It was thrilling watching the cyclists! What a wonderful experience for you!!
Hi Rosie. It was truly intense and amazing. Thank you so much 😊😊😊
Wow! Gave me goosebumps!! 👍. How exciting to be so close.
Hi Terry. It was truly breathtaking. ❤❤❤
Everyone needs a Tony. Patrick laying the floor in the side kitchen will be so awesome. I can just imagine the side kitchen completed will make a huge impact functionally as well as visually. I had the same thought about the cyclist all wedged together, that is not at all what I expected to see. Glad you all enjoyed the festivities. Till next time, hugs and stay well.
Thank you so much Ina. It was amazing to work with Tony again. The side kitchen is going to be lovely. And the cyclists……. Wow. How do they manage? Sending love and hugs 😊😊😊
Thanks for view of the caravan, I watch the Tour every year and never see it. 11. stage was today and my countryman Vingegaard won. big moment for me, he got Pogacar who will proberly win. V had a terrible crash 3 monts ago and yet he is so strong already, bravo. Happy summerdays to all
Hi Karen. Wasn’t that amazing? We didn’t know it existed either. What fun. I saw that Vingegaard won. What an achievement ❤❤❤❤. Sending you much love from Volombe ❤❤😊
Today was a thrilling stage! Jonas for the win!
Thanks for sharing such an iconic event in your county and the world!
Hi Eric. Thank you so much for your amazing comments. I am glad you enjoyed the Tour de France coming by. I am now a fan! Best wishes from Colombe ❤❤
🇨🇦Stuart is in another hat!! I love it!! He looks smashing and dashing!! 😍The parade of vehicles was fabulous!! So much fun all made up as different things haha. I was surprised to see such a huddle of cyclists, I don’t know how they managed!
Stuart looks great wearing hats. ❤❤❤. The Tour, all of it, Wes amazing. Hugs from Colombe 😊
Dear Patrick, I love when you digress!!! Le Tour de France looked so exciting from your vantage point just a 3 minute walk from the chateau. I got nervous watching them cycle so close to each other. One misstep and it could be disaster. The side kitchen is coming along quickly. My old house has a china room off the kitchen with old oak floor to ceiling cabinetry with glass doors and lots of drawers for linens and sterling silver flatware. I love the room. So, Patrick, your wishlist is a valid one and might not be a priority but it’s always nice to have things to look forward to. Many hugs to you both. ❤❤❤
What a great episode! Progress in the chateau AND the Tour. I had no idea the Tour de France was like that. I always knew it was a big deal, but not like that. How totally fun; a parade for adults! Seeing the cyclists so close together and learning that that’s how they travel for a large part of the course is mind blowing! It made me nearly claustrophobic looking at the guys in the middle. I can’t imagine being in that much control as not to move into someone else’s path only inches away. Thank you for showing us something so new and special to those of us who have never seen it like that. Big, big hugs!💕
Thank you Kathy. I know what you mean. When I saw the pack (or peloton as I have now learned…. 😮😂😂), it was shocking. How do they ever manage that? Absolutely fascinating and we feel blessed that we could share this spectacle. Love from Colombe ❤❤
I’ve never seen the cars on the Tour de France - loved them - looking forward to seeing your side kitchen 😊
We didn’t either. It was truly fascinating ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for your spectator view of La Tour and the great Peleton shots of the boys cycling past! We watch every year and love seeing the beauty of French and boy you guys live in the middle of no where, right in the middle of French, fantastic! 👍🙏🫶🇳🇿😎
Thank you so much for sharing the video of the day, showing the riders, the excitement of the caravan, helicopter view of the chateau! We felt like we were there with you guys. Sounds like you caught the tour fever. There is so much excitement, you can see why people travel from around the world to see the tour and France. Amazing that it was so close!
Thank you for sharing both. We love the TDF we watch the highlights every night here in UK. Never seen the decorated advertising vehicles at the front before. Excellent video of the cyclists being so close to you all. Great work with the restoration work.
Yes, Patrick and Stuart, I, too, was surprised to see the cyclists pedaling in such a close-knit group. One hopes nobody sneezes and looses their balance lest they all go tumbling down. It was like a parade of floats with all of those sponsors' vehicles, too.
Kudos once again to Tony and John for their plumbing and electrical expertise. They made short work on the current project. I'm so glad you didn't have to uproot the entire concrete floor, as I had thought you said previously. I can't wait to see the side kitchen clad in that beautiful tile to match the main kitchen. Fantastic!!!
Hi Edward. It was fascinating to see the cyclists soooooo close. Scary almost. Tony was through with that plumbing in no time. Amazing! Stuart was editing and painting and I was hanging wallpaper. We work together like clockwork. We will have some tiles and hopefully, a surprise (that idea might take a while to complete). Huge thank you and hugs from Colombe 😊
😄 J' ai grandi avec le tour de France chez mes parent c'était toujours la FETE!!🤩 que des beaux souvenir
Hi Patrick and Stuart, I agree that was a beautiful video watching the top-notch cyclist. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to see that. I agree with the other viewers your hydrangeas are beautiful. It was great you had help with the electrical and plumbing for the petite room. Looking forward to your next video as always. Just to let you know, I admire your personality traits.😊
Bicycle butts drive me nuts!
Much better than spandex on someone at Walmart.
🤣
@@MarkADavisAZ😂😂😂. Ohhhh do I remember that Mark 😂😂😂😂. I absolutely agree
😊😂😊
What a fun day. Love the hat, Stuart. Very debonaire
As someone who has been watching the Tour de France for 20 years, I so wish I could have been with you to watch the peloton pass by. There is no other sport like it and I’m glad you got to experience the excitement.
Hi Diana. I wish we would have realised how close the TdF was. We’d have been so happy to have fans share lunch and then watch the cyclists. Truly a once in a lifetime experience. Love and hugs from Colombe ❤❤
Fantastic to see the Tour de France going by.
Lots of excitement. I love your hydrangeas-so beautiful.
I'm a NASCAR person, so for me it was nice to see how other racing sports do things. Lucky you got to see them go by so close. Very cool!
See the cyclist’s in that group made me get goosebumps. WOW. Amazing. So cool that you Patrick & Stuart get to witness this. This is Historic.
Hi there. Wasn’t that a,axing? We have never seen anything like this. This was absolutely amazing. ThNk you so much ❤❤
Hi Stuart and Patrick. Well I Never thought that I’d get to see the Tour de France So Close Up! It was wonderful. The pictures from the drone over the house really showed the Beauty and size of your property! Great video, as always.❤❤❤
OH I love the Tour and watch it every year but to know it goes by one of my favorite Chateau's is amazing ! Go go go Tadej the guy in yellow UAE TEAM ... now back to work guys where the work never ends, Thank you for sharing your Tour with me.
Great scene with all the pomp and ceremony then the cyclists packed in as you mentioned like sardines. How exciting!!!👌💯🤗😅
Wonderful footage of the Tour de France and the caravan of sponsors was fascinating, as I have not seen this when watching the Tour de France on the television. The supervisor monitoring Tony also did a great job. Take care my friends, Ralph Rocchiccioli
Nice to see Tour de France with you guys
What an amazing experience to have the TDF come by!
What a thrill to see the Tour de France!! I wondered, as you did, just how those cyclists could be in such a pack and maintain control. Good luck on your side kitchen. Tiling the floor will enhance the space a lot.
Hugs Vicki. I think you put it spot on. It was a thrill.
We cannot wait to have the side kitchen floor finished. Have the fridge and freezer in the china room….. 😮. And laundry is the the farmhouse. 😂😮😂. Progress is so exciting. Love and hope you don’t have severe weather. ❤❤
I had no idea there was a parade of sponsors before the racers! What fun! Thank you for sharing with us!
BRAVO!!!Yous had great weather ❤ thank you🎉. For the lovely video of the racers .& .great caravan. I LOVED THE LIL PINK 🚗 😂
Quelles magnifiques images du Tour de France, félicitation au merveilleux caméraman 😉🤩
Merci beaucoup. We two took the videos on each side of the road. It was amazing ❤❤
How exciting❗️
I was going to watch stage 10 on TV this morning but I didn’t have the chance to. I’m gonna watch it later and look out for you guys! 😃
❤❤❤❤
What a lovely day we had, it was a lot of fun, thank you xx
Patrick, I liked the turquoise shirt against your flower background. You really made the video pop! ❤
That was fantastic photography Stuart...what a wonderful experience watching pro cyclists peddle in sync with so much ease. I was thinking the same as you were, what if just one of them missed 'the beat' so to speak.....bang! Obvious lots of good training involved. I love it when you digress Patrick, you keep me smiling.
Love to you Norma. Indeed, one wrong move and ……. 🤯🤯🤯. It was fantastic. Thank you so much ❤❤
Thank You for sharing, never veen such as event so close. Thank You 🙏
Hello Lidja. Thank you so much. We haven’t seen anything like this before either. Amazing ❤❤❤
Everything you do is 1st. CLASS!🎉
Brilliant roadside view of the Tour De France. You guys set yourselves up nicely. I love any kind of parade and that was fun too. Great progress with the plumbing guys in the side kitchen too. Isn’t Tony a gem ❤
You really did pick the right Château to move to, what with the friends you have made, and lovely neighbours, and to top it all, the tour de France just passing by, wonderful 😀 the cyclists looked immaculate, and as you said, packed tight 🎉
I think Donna suggestion worked out well.
See you Friday 😊❤ 👋
Hi Cheryl. I believe you are correct. This chateau is for us and the Tour de France was a big bonus for all the hard work. ❤😂😊. We have wonderful neighbours and friends and feel truly blessed.
Donna was right, of course. It ready looks great, even without the flooring done. Hugs from Colombe 😊
Absolutely! 🍓
Wonderful episode....Jane looked so cute
All the vehicles in the caravan were so fun to watch. The Citröen that I have not seen in years! Thank you for sharing.
Yelling at the dogs again? Are those babies beeing mischievous...😂 Patience parents please. ❤
Wow, what a grand parade! I especially loved the cars shaped like fruits and veggies. The Tour de France would be amazing to see in person! A Grand Spectacle on every level!
Yes, I want a strawberry car 🍓🍓🍓🍓
Fun to watch the race and to see people enjoying being involved. Love the hydrangeas, the colors are lovely. Excited about your plans for the butler’s pantry. ❤
Many years ago whilst living in our house abord la Loire the whole tour cameo. The bridge directly facing our house but they were gone in an instance coming from the Chère to Pouilly sur Loire I. The last border of southern Bourgogne! Thanks for allowing me to enjoy it from your part of the Centre of France..envy the moment!
Bonne aventure, les gars!!! 🥰🎶❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🏰🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
❤❤❤. Mercy beaucoup
I’m with you, Stuart, I sat here thinking how in the world can they cycle that packed together and no one was running into each other? What a thrill that must have been and wow, you really did some great filming! And just like that, fun’s over and it’s back to work 😂.
OMG!!! I had no idea, the Tour de France really is amazing. An actual parade too! I wondered what they were tossing at you... Yes, unbelievable how they cycle so closely crammed together! Thank you for sharing that. WOW!!! Ahahahaha reason to shop? With a full house, you will need more porcelain and storage ❤
You can't beat a cool beverage ❤
I can remember watching the tour De Yorkshire a few years ago. It came through my childhood home town of Ilkley, so we travelled up to watch the cyclist ride through it was very exciting to see. Your hydrangeas are looking spectacular, it must be a good year for them as our are the best they have been in years. X
It was amazing and the caravan beforehand was something we have never seen. It was fantastic.
We are looking forward to our full house.
We are now looking forward to finding cabinets for crystal and china. There is a lot of reorganisation before hand but it is eventually going to be fantastic. Glass front cabinets 100% indeed. Hugs ❤❤❤
So exciting to see the Tour going past. Really enjoyed the footage. Side kitchen coming along nicely. Well done Patrick & Stuart👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hugs Barbara. It was amazing and in walking distance. Fantastic day and a unique experience. And a side kitchen that is workable….. Hurrah. Love from Colombe ❤
Look at those beautiful flowers! (And the plants behind you 🤣) job well done guys !!! It’s going to be beautiful!! ❤
Looks incredible!! I love seeing all the way through the Chateau❤ awesome shots of the tour as well!! So glad you got to experience that!!!!
Looks like such a fun time and to be able to experience it so close to home, wish I could retire there, dreams, hopes, and wishes really nice that you are repurposing such a space, and changing the foot print of the room nicely done can't wait to see it finished , Love you both thank-your again for sharing your Journey, kisses to the one who first said lets set up a you tube channel and share it ... thank-you
What an incredible experience to watch these top-notch cyclists! I also was amazed to watch the cyclists begin their parading, riding so close to one another without incident whatsoever.
Isn’t it amazing how tight the pack was? This was truly a once in a lifetime event for us. Huge thank you for your comment ❤❤❤
That looked like so much fun. 😊 The cars at the beginning are funny with chickens, lions and other things on them. I don't remember seeing them before. Great drone shot of the chateau! The riders were really packed together. Thanks for sharing 😊
Hello Verena. It was a fantastic day. The caravane was unexpected and truly amazing. And the cyclists……. WOW. What a day. Hugs from Colombe ❤
What a fun video 🥰 thank you for sharing!! And those hydrangeas 😮
Hi Patrick and Stuart, How exciting to have Le Tour de France ide past your front door, it is just like a Mardi Gras parade in such a good way. Great progress in the side kitchen. With T6ony and John everything gets done in a timely manner and in between guests. I know your pain of not enough china crystal and possible flatware when you have guests and of course you need different f everything for each meal of the day. Limoge does have an outlet store with bargains by the dozen. Plan a day to make the trip, it will not disappoint. Mark & Scott
Looking great guys. Love the Hydryngias greetings from Ireland.
How thrilling! What a great experien e
Your videos that document the renovations (or cooking, thrift shopping, gardening, etc.) are always interesting, but how lovely that you have spotlighted a "day" off to show us a slice of French living. I had no idea that the peloton would be organized in the manner that you showed. I am used to seeing "road warriors" speeding up (or down) with maneuvers akin to watching a chess match. Way cool, thank you so much from Central California.
Your TDF party looked like SO much fun! How exciting. I'm really enjoying following the Tour. I'd love to see a video someday about the dogs-tell us about them, each one's personality etc. The hydrangeas behind you are just exquisite!
Tailgating Tour de France style!!! What fun, jealous of your beautiful hydrangeas, mine are just half the size 😊
Your hydrangeas are beautiful!
Amazing! ❤️👏🏻
The way they were riding so close reminded me of the way one of my brothers would ride his bike right up on you. I would make him ride on the other side of the street because he would crash into everyone
Lookin good. I enjoyed seeing the Tour.🤠
We occasionally have the Tour Down Under pass in front of our house. It’s fun to have a few drinks, watch the peloton pass through and then have lunch. We prefer the Tour because the roads are only closed for a short time, and it’s fun to decorate the town.
🎉how wonderful that you are right on the route! Now we know where to stay! Stewart, what you said about the cyclists, I had just said those exact words to my husband while watching your video😂
Love seeing your visions come to fruition 🙌🏼
Hydrangeas looking good! We are having heat advisories and drought. My blooms are all brown.
Very exciting. While not the Tour de France, the route for the Tour Down Under often goes past my house. Neighbours often sit at the end of their driveways with friends, drinks etc.
Great filming Stuart and Patrick
👋🇨🇦 Amazing capture of the 🚵🚵♀️🚵♂️ I love the slo mo of the 🚴🚴♀️🚴♂️ Why do the 🚴🚴♀️🚴♂️ travel in a pack sardine style ? I agree with Stewart, it seems rather precarious 😲 Kudos, Stewart, on your music 🎶 scores 🙌 I could listen to your music selection for hours 🥰 Thank You, very much, Gentlemen, for sharing your lifestyle in 🇫🇷 I have country 🇫🇷 envy, so much 😂 Wishing you a fantastic season, from Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦
What a lovely job. So good to see you making great progress. Well done.
Thank you. It is sooooo nice ❤
OMG the tour de france was so fun and you got loot - nice! You guys just make me smile! Have a great rest of the week.
As always yet another wonderful episode. So enjoy your journey.
We love your comments Frances. It means a lot to us. ❤❤❤
What fun! I was beyond amazed how close they rode together as well. Glad Tony could help you out again - LOL!🥂
What a super fun adventure it was. Happy to share this vlog with my family and friends. I am so happy that I stayed an extra night the cottage. So happy I was able to skare the experience with you all. Cheers from Toronto
It was great to meet you, Susan! We are glad you enjoyed your stay! 🥰
Tour de France pics amazing. A real eye opener. Thankfully you have competent helpers! The room will look great once the floor is laid and matches the kitchen ….don't stop….get yourselves some gorgeous cabinets for the crystal, dishes etc etc etc
I loved seeing the still shots. Amazing! We are trying to get something very special for the room. We are truly excited. Now the hunt for cabinets is on ❤❤❤. Hugs😊
I have missed so much!! 3 weeks of your UA-cam!! A big binge watch today, I will enjoy it though! Gee all the bike riders!!! WOW, grate filming lads. I have to say those hydrangeas behind you both are excellent! 😘😘
Thank you for the tour. That was really neat to see. What a fun break and right in your neighborhood. The side kitchen work went really well. Always amazing to see how Tony and you guys make it look so easy. 👍
💕😘
Can't wait to see finished side kitchen! Good job! Also glad you had some time off to enjoy the Tour de France!
We’re Australian and love the Tour de France! We watch every year and I was excited to see it was coming by your chateau. But because we’re on the other side of the world, the live coverage starts, depending on the distance of each stage, around 8:30 to 9:30 each night and finishes around 2am! And because you were near the end I’m afraid I fell asleep before they got to you! Deeply disappointed! It was interesting that, because it was such a flat stage, there were no breakaway groups from the peloton. So very intense at the end!! But I’d have loved to see the live coverage of your chateau
absolutely love your videos and today's was no exception & I learnt a lot about the Tour de France passing by on normal roads. Thank you. Just a small ask - Patrick your enthusiasum and general joie de vivre is absolutely wonderful but please allow Stuart some time to speak as well. 🙂👍
Sooooo cool!
Hi sweeties. That was really something special that The Tour de France came right next to the Chateau. It must have been so much fun seeing this together with friends and neighbours. Enjoying it with wind and cheese. The renovation in the side kitchen is much better. You can see through the hallway to the end. Sending a package to you for your birthdays, maybe too soon but better than to late.🎉🎂
Have a nice evening. Hugs and kisses also for the furries. 🥰😘❤️🐕
Thank you darling. It was amazing. I never thought I’d be this excited about cycling. We had such a fun time. And the hallway…. We are so happy. Looking forward to the package and sending love and hugs from Colombe ❤❤❤
Amazing photo!!!
Hello my darling Stuart and Patrick , Well what can I say about this vlog.
“Wow Wow Wow” .
Stuart everyone agrees that your editing skills and camera work are amazing but this was just fantastic catching the excitement and essence of the riders. I really think you should enter the close up clip of the pack going by as it was brilliant . 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Might I also say Stuart I love your hat, even when I saw you wearing it way back in the beginning of the Journey vlogs I think it’s suits you very well. 😊
Darling Patrick it was so good to hear the happiness and excitement in your voice when you were commentating waiting for the tour to pass.
I must say you’re looking very tired though but a few hours off with friends is so good for you both.
Love to you both and big big hugs from me. 🥰🥰🇨🇮
I meant to say enter the clip in a competition or a magazine . 🤭
Hello sweetie. It was absolutely amazing. We each filmed on each side of the road. It was truly fantastic. I have to say, you are spot on. We are tired, me even more than Stuart and it shows. There is the petit salon and a full house this weekend….. Ute things are looking up. Sending you lots of love and hugs ❤❤❤
I think. It would be a great idea….. but where to enter? 😊
What fun!!!
Amazing how they’re in such a tight pack. There must be an advantage to doing that.
Ah, Tony does enjoy a bit of jackhammering. 😁 Great that he could manage the plumbing for you. I’m sure it’s so nice to get to this point, and I look forward to seeing the next steps.
I suppose the dogs are simply used to constant change, so aren’t thrown by jackhammers, etc. They just supervise when it’s safe for them to be in the space, and inspect your work when they’re allowed in. 🙂
It is amazing how tight they cycle. Unbelievable. 😮😮😮
Tony had fun. We love working with him. Our little rascals do not mind the work. They usually lay and watch (supervise). They are amazing. Looking forward to seeing the floor finished. Hugs ❤
