@@well1012 they certainly don't have a snobby malone road accent from belfast, they sound like west belfast, they way people sounded in my average secondary school
@@well1012 it's true many people lose their way with music and fame and are even not really from the background similar to those things that they sing about, i write poetry, i've written poetry about the holocaust of ww2 for university, but you don't need to live those experience to speak about them. they can have more money and fame and from the interviews, they still sound like the average "smick" as we say in west belfast growing up. unless it's really put on and it's just a fantasy. but i can't say. i can say is that i enjoy the music sometimes
Really? I’ve never heard them talk about class nearly half as much as they push sectarianism, and the saddest thing about sectarianism its a war between the working class that makes it impossible for us to ever overcome the real threat from the social elites who want us to be fighting amongst ourselves sadly
Im an Irishman living in Ireland. I am so impressed by this women doing the interview. The boys obviously started off the talk by taking the piss but she held her ground and asked the real questions, the questions i would ask the lads myself. As i said before I am an Irishman but i still don't understand a lot of what the lads are saying when they perform their lyrics. I was "taught" the language from the day I started school until the day I finished yet I cannot speak it fluently just like 97% of the Irish population. That fact makes me sad sometimes but just knowing that Kneecap exist counteracts that feeling and that makes me happy xx
that "fact" is completely incorrect. It's asking how much people are native Irish speakers (Irish is their first or only language) not how many people are fluent in the language. So you not being born into a fully Irish speaking community will exclude you from being native, regardless of how advanced you are at the language. 40% of the population are fluent in Irish. So I hope that makes you feel better.
who is this woman??!! she is an incredibly patient, amazing interviewer. she was genuinely interested the whole time. top class. they boys are also good ha
she pulled a few"yes, and..." with their answers when they would crack a joke but also was able to steer them back. she had very little info going in, her ignorance reflected a lot of her viewers knowledge.
The culture divide here is incredible. Novena did awesome to keep up with the lads, who basically just got on like 3 wee smicks from west belfast (they don't change for anyone lol). Great interview
This interview is so fucking chaotic! Fair play to the lads for staying with the patter and to her for still trying to find stuff out her or the audience in America don’t know while they’re are being pure tits 😂 class
Simple simon lol i fucking knew it. Dont ask how i just did when i heard CEARTA tripping i was like these dudes are tripping balls no fucking doubt Mo Chara got the confidence and courage to do this from psychs and reflection on culture, identity, struggle, working the rest of your life at the Hawthorne, never making it, and then the other option of risking everything, saying fuck everyone, making it on your own, living the life you want, and giving back to the community that made you who you are by being the sickest dopest Irish language rapper in history with your best friend? I know what i would have chose. The Hawthorne cuz im weak but yeah call me crazy but i cant explain it just keep it up lads youre keeping me alive.
When they explained that they just rapped what they normally rapped and got kicked out I bet she was starting to question what the lyrics mean, tiocfaidh ár lá
I love how they run rings around yanks and brits every time they're interviewed. By the time they're catching up they've moved on. It's so fucking funny because it's literally like every conversation you have with a yank as an irish person unless you massively adjust your humour and way of speaking.
I’m not in Ireland and puzzled by this band. Are they not inciting hatred? If everyone is welcome in Ireland why do they want Brits out? What about DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion)? Only with certain groups it seems. Does this not make them bigoted?
It’s not in violation of DEI as the Brits are historically white and not part of any DEI formula. Perhaps you need to check your white privilege 😜. Also anyone going on about DEI can fck up

I like how Mo Chara stood on what he said about the homeless and didn’t crack a smile even when she laughed. He made a very good point.
Exactly.
My guy ain't joking!
Loved this.
Right at the start too. What an amazing human Mo Chara is for always speaking up. Especially without the laughter ❤
i love how they push class consciousness at every chance
