That routine seems perfectly fine to me.
I was at the players championship and I seen him at the range 3 hours before his tee time, he left and came back an hour before I think your missing the first range session
there is a difference between a practice session and warm up routine. if he were teeing off at 8 am you wouldnt see him out there at 4:30am

Strangest warm-up yet!!
Actually very typical. 70% wedges; 15% irons; 15% drivers is ordinary. Vijay, Davis, Padraig, Freddy have been very similar for years.

@@chrisdepoy3370 it makes sense because the first thing you'll be doing when you get on the course is hitting a full shot
@@jamesovenden3833 yes tour players certainly recognize the difference between being in the hunt on Sunday and being 8 strokes back is typically wedge play and putting. Those players leading the "proximity to the pin" stats almost always are also in the top 10. Conversely, you can lead a tournament in driving - and miss the cut.

Why doesn't he let the club follow through fully?

He keeps his hands and arms pretty quiet, turning his body back and through. It's the dog wagging it's tail, and not the other way around. Part of the reason why he's such a great ball striker, with length, accuracy, and solidity of hits. He clearly wants perfect practice to carry over to the course. Great routine.
In long run that can cause him issues with his neck
He does it to stop his club face turning through impact, he had a major problem with hooking it. I do it also to change wrist angles and it’s as straight as an arrow. It improves strike and I would recommend it!
