Plus, I really appreciate your perspective of exact uses or reasons why each light can be used by specific creators. Hi, I would like you to create a video comparing lights from Aputure, Nanlite, Godox, and Zhiyun that have the same wattage. I want to see if the high prices charged by these major companies are justified or not.
The only reason I might consider the Colbor is because the product trailer revealed that there might be a mini spotlight mount for it coming soon. Thank you for the video.

I have the Colbor X60 (an eBay steal!) and it's pretty decent. I'm really on the fence with all of Zhiyun's lights unfortunately. I've seen a lot of negative reviews or updated reviews calling out reliability issues. A lot of users who have had their lights randomly die after just a month or two. Add to that atrocious customer service and it's hard to take the plunge.
You may have been hearing about the issues with the battery on the x100. Since then they have issues a statement and are replacing everyone's batteries for free along with sending out all new units with new batteries that dont' die. Hope that helps! Yes, they replaced my Bad battery and i recieved it very fast. I would still recommend getting the x100 without the battery, just use a v-mount with usb c output, price for the two Things together is comparable and a v-mount is always useful. The x100 is quite heavy for its size with the battery attached, and with a cable the included onw only provides 30 Watts. This x100 is i think the best value of all this pocket lights. I would stay away from the molus g60, not as well made not benefits. The App for this Lights is awfum, like most Apps, waiting when it's loosing connction you need to fiddel around... who has time for doing so.

Thanks much for the comparison. It's very helpful. These portable/battery-capable COB lights are fairly new. Do you see a major increase in 100+W COB lights available in the coming year of two? I've just bought four C60B Sirui lights, and hope to use them to lift shadows for outdoor use--on large boulders, rock exposures (during the dreary winters in Seattle), and in caves. I know the 60W power is rather low, but I need multiple lights that are portable. I'm sure that much more powerful lights will be needed in the future. But I need to experiment to see what works. Photogrammetry often works best on cloudy days.
I went completely left field and got the YIDOBLO ZC-100BI 100W for $150. I Really don't undertand why the cx-100's battery isn't removable & not being able to use npf batteries is criminal.
@@ckdesignlabIt's mostly okay. Being able to use NPF batteries that I already own is great. The output, portability, and value are world class compared. The biggest issue is the mount for modifiers. They REALLY cheaped out on all plastic pieces associated with it. You can guarantee you'll break the plastic tab that unlocks the mount so you can remove a modifier. Unless you're extremely careful, which isn't easy because of how finicky it is. I have a plastic welder just waiting for the day it breaks. I even took it apart to see why this mechanism was so bad and it's because it was engineered bad/cheaply. TLDR It's small and super bright. But cheap plastic pieces can make it useless if you break the mini bowens mount locking tab. It's harsh af without any diffusion.

Certainly. Live mode keeps the light in the on position essentially. So if it unplugs from power and someone plugs it back in it will turn back on 'automatically' rather than having to find the power button to turn it on. It's great for studios because you can setup those type of lights up to all be controlled from a main switch of sorts.

Live mode is for if say the cord gets unplugged from the wall and the light turns off you could plug it back in and the light would resume. You wouldn't have to push the power button to get it back on. Great for putting entire light systems on a single remote or voice activation, which is what I do.
My problem with Molus100 is that the mount and all the accessories are really fragile, and also the Bowens mount adapter is really poorly made it doesn't lock my aputure mini dome so I would not trust it with bigger modifiers. Also it is basically the same build quality, if it drops there is a big chance you will brake something, I managed to brake few fan blades. I love the light for its portability and the grip battery makes it really easy to use, but I wish they went with mini Bowens that colbor has since it is a bit better solution and can accept slightly better mini accessories.

I considered it, but generally speaking when most people use these lights it'll be with the reflector likely.

fix your freaking app. The Molus x100 disconnects with the app when the phone screen goes on stand by. Make a physical controller or something.
With that mini softbox either of these would make an excellent hair light.
