Really enjoying your Book of the New Sun videos! I've been reading the books for the first time and your release timing has been great, with the video on a particular book coming out shortly after I've finished it myself! It's nice to hear a Christian perspective as well as that aspect tends to get glossed over or misinterpreted.
Interesting point about Terminus Est going from a tool of execution to one of protection and defense. It made me think of a small bit that stuck out to me but didn't click until you mentioned it. As Severian is leaving Thrax, he talks about removing the handguard so that it would appear from afar to be a staff rather than a sword. It's interesting as Severian becomes more Christ-like and Terminus Est is re-purposed, that he physically changes it to resemble a staff, which Jesus is often depicted as carrying.

Very excellent observation. I didn’t even put it that literally together. The sword becomes a staff. From executioner figure to prophetic figure.

There are so many Internet voices that have been harping (in a good way) about this book. Please let me live in the timeline in which all the top Wolfe content creators collaborate. You're giving a prescriptive on these books that no one else does (at least this deeply).
And I'm more than certain that- to be analyzed even remotely- this book needs multiple perspectives.

@@OrlandoOrtiz570 Thank you! Well there may be something of that ilk coming soon. The channel Talking Story is hosting a series of read along conversations on the series next year that will involve myself, author Christopher Ruocchio and Philip Chase and Jimmy from the Fantasy Nuttwork. I’m very excited for the conversation
