I did this before making a sesame street character what I did was put parchment paper over my template then added glue. When glue dried I painted it with foil adhesive and foiled it in different colors. It peeled off the parchment paper great and all the painting and foils were much easier because I did not have to worry about it getting on background. Hope I explained that right. Oh when done decorating character I then using a wood glue and E 6000 attached the character to my board background. I laid a couple books on to hold it in place till glue dried my character to the background. Worked like a dream. I was not going to resin it so before I glued it to background I sealed all the paint and foil on the hot glue. Spray adhesive also worked well for getting foil to stick to hot glue. Since it was not on background I could do anything without having to worry about my background. Hugs Sheryl 💙🎨💙
@@marycupp3123 your welcome... I don't do videos or even sell but I love to share anything I know to help others. Have a great day hugs Sheryl from Indiana 💙🎨💙
Thank you for sharing your tips! I will give your idea ago! With my luck without the adhesive that goes with the foil nothing would stick. You are so kind and thoughtful. Your input is greatly appreciate it.❤
Awesome Sherry! Love this! The possibilities are endless! I am under-construction.... new art space in my future! You've got my mind spinning! Such an inspiration and your son will love it!
1. Glad you’re feeling better! 2. Love the texture you achieved with the glue gun - but I think the sun looking less perfect IS perfect - gives me that sunset at the lake vibe - the sun kinda glimmers on the horizon 3. THANK YOU for taking us on this beautiful journey This is my current favourite 🥰
I love it. I made all the sesame characters for my sons room years ago. I will explain what I did which made it easier for me. Below are helpful hints. I think it turned out great the guitar 🎸 looks so cool nice job..hugs Sheryl 💙🎨💙
It came out beautiful! It seems as water and the reflection of the palm trees on the water. Love it! That's great you are better! Take care! God bless you! ❤️🙏😘
WOW Sherry this is awesome. Such a great idea for using up all those extra glue gun sticks that most of us crafters have laying around lol. I think you could use the hot setting on the blow dryer to heat up the surface of the glue stick that the foil wasn't sticking to, so it melts the surface just enough so the foil will stick to it. If the blow dryer doesn't work then try a heat gun from a distance. All the best, Diane, UK xx ADDED: You could also use the heat gun to remelt any areas you're not happy with to smooth it out. xx
So happy you are feeling better. AMAZON has tracing paper that comes in different colors to make it easier to see your tracings on dark backgrounds...😉
That is awesome that you are feeling better for sure ! This is all just amazing !!! i have always loved gold leafing and to see how it is done!. Please do more !!!
So awesome! I was worried about the foil not sticking without using a gilding adhesive. Lot of intricate glue gun work! Amazing job on this and the texture you got with the glue is wonderful. It's beautiful. Oh yea, and I love the blue stain.
I’m happy you’re feeling better and truly hope you doing videos is part of your relaxation. I appreciate them. I’ve just started my look into “how-to” with metallic leaf and transfer foil. I want to use glue, or size, and not need to purchase a crafting machine specifically for this. I realize size is more easily controlled than glue from a gun, but have you heard of “Kuratake Zig 2-Way Glue Pen”? There are different sized nibs, which allows for even better control for detailed areas. I know some hot glues dry so shiny and hard it’s not surprising leaf wouldn’t stick. This came out beautifully! Thank you for sharing the process!
Just a little warning, I have that same glue gun and severely burned 2 of my fingers with the glue that came out of it. I've worked with glue guns before and gotten little burns over the years but nothing this bad. There is a silicone mold of that same guitar print. I bought it to do for my son. Its much smaller than I thought it would be! One of those times I forgot to check the measurements. It makes a cool resin guitar, I just wish it was bigger.
Even a precision glue with different tips to do very delicate work if you used your hair dryer to heat up some of the glue and then put your copperleaf over it it would restock it's self to it and get rid of those little glue strings I seen some people use there finger to rub it in because some reason it works better I think it would look even better with the sides done in the copper but that is just me everything u do is always so beautiful I just love it
Hey Sherry on Amazon they sell this glue gun for precision work it is called Surebonder auto shutoff hot glue gun full size 1.5x power of ultra series DT 360F multiple projects and they sell the tip with really fine tips u should check it out I love mine I think u will love it to and it also has a fat tip to for the end of the guitar
Sherry, how cool is that?!!! I love this artwork! The neck of the guitar reminds me of the song: "The Heart of Rock N Roll" by Huey Lewis and the News! This is awesome! And that is one of my favorite songs 🎵. I wonder if you used your heat gun on the glue, if that might make it sticky again?
Beautiful absolutely stunning. I was nervous for you at the beginning, but this is definitely a trust the process piece of art. I love it and I am sure your son will be so proud to own it. The copper and denim blue colour work so well together. Well done Sherry 👏
This question is not relevant to this video but wanted to know about Liquid Glass. Is it toxic to breathe in like resin is? I bought some and didn’t know if I should wear a mask when using it 🤷🏼♀️

I truly LOVE to watch your videos. Your step by step and showing how you do the saves also makes your videos precious
I love it, I’m glad you opted not to foil the sides of the frame. The eyes will focus on the beauty of gilded guitar 🎸 art.❤❤❤❤

I loved this! Will keep this technique in mind!
It looks fabulous.
Great video Sherry. I love this gotta try this out
A trick. If you take the new glue stick and glue it to the old one, you don't have to hold it. Love and Respect from Norway.
Interesting concept!❤
I love it
Love this Sherri it turned out stu nning
I tried twice to use your US Amazon link and got error message they couldn't find the page. Love what you did!
Cool looking guitar, I draw with pencils, you draw with glue gun 🤣🤣🤣🤣 you did an amazing job

If you get with a heat gun it should warm up enough to get the leafing to stick.🐾🐾🐾🐾🌟🌟🌟🥰🥰🥰🌟🌟🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Hope you received your PayPal Sherry! Love all your videos 👏🏻❤️

Absolutely amazing, its really so cool
What is the size of the print.... could I print it on a a4 size printer paper?
Thank you 🤩
Sherry the glue will lift from the board,I know you don't want to put anything over it but just saying.😘
Pebeo has a tube that leaves a raised sizing for leafing, yet looks like the raised glue gun. Use the Pebeo product instead of glue gun.
Where did you have your stamp made? Love your videos. Love, k
Were did u get ur stamp
Would a heat gun warm the bits that aren’t sticking without messing up the foil that is already sticking?
Love this!
I don’t know why but my gold leaf never sticks even when I use the prep glue that is made for gold leaf

You sound better. I really like how this turned out. ❤❤. ps: where did you get your stamp?
I'm wondering if you have a Cricut machine. It seems like something you would make good use of.
Beautiful absolutely stunning.

Do you have a link for the guitar you are doing?
This question is not relevant to this video but wanted to know about Liquid Glass. Is it toxic to breathe in like resin is? I bought some and didn’t know if I should wear a mask when using it 🤷🏼♀️
The parts that were not sticking to the gold leaf need to be heated up the glue I mean. Then it would stick.
Heat it up
29:48 why do you keep shaking your glue gun?!
Not a fan of this project..,
