Yes it is but I’d still give it a chance, maybe after playing for a while it’ll feel better as they did make it take less time to level up, i think it’d be too easy to get a weapon gold if they kept the level cap at 100 and still reduced the XP required, sure maybe making it 200 is too much and something like 150 would be better but, at least they’re good at communicating with the community and owning up to things they get wrong. if this change doesn’t work then they’ll most likely change it again :)
@@jamesgardiner9969 bro it still takes 70% more xp to level a gun to gold, and it already took a long ass time. the only reason some people have a couple gold is because they're throwing out double xp weekends and tokens left and right. When all that shit stops it's gonna take 80 games to get a gun gold
6k kills for a primary weapon to be gold and 2k kills for a secondary to be gold

Back in the day on the old COD’s i’d feel so rewarded just for getting my favourite weapons to gold rather than how it is now having to get every single weapon in the game gold just to use a certain camo on a few guns i like to use ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was grinding all my weapons to level 50 for that bronze camo before I grinded for gold camo at level 100. Now I'm 150 levels away from gold, making me not want to even go for it anymore.

All I needed left were the handguns , 1 sniper , 1 LMG, & 3 shotguns to get all Bronze weapons now I'm so far away ... Forget it I'ma just play with my favorite weapons I'm not gonna bother getting gold on all weapons because it seems like mastery camos are on a per weapon basis and not on a per class basis there is no completionist camo like a bo dark matter
I was doing the same thing just getting all the attachments unlocked have a camo for every weapon for future rebalancing of weapons now i look at it and I'm like why did i use shotguns and did pistol only seems like i wasted more time and got hella frustrated for no reason
Facts I was in the same boat strategically using the double Xp weekends ,tokens and tanking ”stats” for what. It really feels like a slap in the face I had all the attachments for almost 2/3 of the guns🤦🏽♂️. Then still would’ve had the second half of the “grind” to get gold. I don’t even wanna waste time for the gold anymore which I guess is a good thing for my psyche in the long run🤷🏽♂️
I’m literally in the same boat. I’ve been working on all the SMG’s, AR’s, and Snipers getting them to 50 so thag all the attachments and the bronze camo is unlocked and sliver and gold would be a closer achievement, and it would be easier cause the guns would all have attachments but now I’m just not gonna try because it’s too much.
maybe just play the game for fun or competitively and look at camos for what they are; a cosmetic

Unlocking camos was the whole incentive to play. Now that it's absurdly long people are going to stop playing. They should have just added a new camo for level 200 to keep people grinding as that's more reasonable.

@@staychrispy91you know some people wanna grind for something as well? there’s only so much you can do with just enjoying the game by just playing without purpose. which is why camos and other level progressions exist, so that it keeps player retention.

I really hate this change to the mastery grind it was already a lot of work to get a gun gold and this also sets the precedent that the devs can make your hard work on the game worthless without telling you beforehand
I mean that precedent has been there for years, most devs don't really give a fuck about the average player in any way. Happens a lot where they just reverse progress or change major features after wasting hours upon hours on it
Yeah i don't agree with the way they did this. If they're gonna double the weapon levels they need to make xp from playing the objective count towards weapon levels as well.

This update just destroyed all of my hopes and dreams of camo grinding in this game
Some quick math here. Before the patch, to get to level 100, you'd require 350,000 xp, while now you require 600,000 xp, meaning the diff is an additional 250,000 xp. If Jev were to avg. 3.5 levels a match, he would have to play ~57.143 total matches to level a single gun from level 1. Considering he's currently at 26, we can subtract 78,000 xp from the total 600,000 xp; this means that, from level 26, Jev will have to avg. 3.5 levels a game for ~49.714 games. It's been a bit since I've played XDefiant, but lets say the avg. match of Occupy takes about 15 minutes. Assuming this while taking into account the approximate required number of matches, Jev must play for a total of ~745.714 minutes ( ~12.429 hours). It's 100% doable, Jev, but I don't envy your grind. Love your vids, and I can't wait to see your Elden Ring DLC content

To finish just primary weapons from start to finish will take around 240 hours and that is off you drop 70 kills a game. Secondary’s not included

Biggest selling point for the game was no skill-based match making for the casuals... I don't know if the casuals will love a month long grind to get 1 single weapon Gold lmao.
A person working a 9-5 coming home isn't gonna play many games and probably won't drop more than 25 kills a game. These are the people I'm basing this off of.
Hell even people like me and my buddies that can get 40+ kills a game and work full time jobs won't even wanna do this. We're not pros but the 3 of us absolutely maul people majority of our time on this game (We love FPS). Ranking up weapons was already bad and now this is way worse, a lot of people regardless who you are, this is gonna make a lot of people stop playing. Ubisoft already shot themselves in the foot before Season 1, this is already a very bad sign.

The 9-5 grind was real for my boy’s and i (1.3-2.0 kd’s), we all get on at around 6:30 p.m. to get off around 10 or 11 p.m. just for this update to rip all that work out of our hands, even with not thinking about it, we did not enjoy playing tonight and ended up getting back on apex LOL.
getting weapons to gold was already a very hard challenge before the update, this just makes it unattainable for casual gamers.

I think they'll 100% do something about it because the backlash will be too big, and since its a free game, they have to sustain it to make money since it's not like cod where they make alot of the money when the players buy the initial game
There are definitely some weird bugs after yesterday… along with the sound being gone for a kill in certain modes, I literally went to throw a grenade and it showed me throwing my MP5 at the enemy… it was hilarious.

this helps the casuals to get attachments faster in guns they want to level up, it makes the hardcore players play longer to get their camos
They made it to where you unlock attachments faster so it’s better for casual players but harder for those who want to get mastery camos (non-causal players)

@@potza579 The scale is off so far though. Most decent guns were fully leveled at 43, so 150.500 xp. Now you need 129.000 xp. That's really not that much of a change. Gold camos though went from 350.000 to 600.000. That's just too wild man...

I also noticed the footstep audio change. I sometimes hear enemies from very faraway where there isn’t much going on.
I was also mistaking my teammates footsteps for enemies
They should’ve just made the mastery camo at 200 level and OBJ points should count towards weapon leveling as well.
They also need Prestige mode in the game soon as possible.

This was the worst update ever. This is just going to make people not want to play objective even more. It already was bad that kill farming was so prevalent bc the only way to earn xp was kills but now increasing the xp needed with that being the only way means even sweatier not objective based lobbies smh. They lied about not taking gold away, I can't equip it for any of the weapons I unlocked it for before the patch, they should have just given players level 200 that grinded to 100 pre patch, they clearly meant to have 100 be the end goal and moved it because they realized they could manipulate players into buying xp boosters. Are they going to remove your mastery skins next time you hit the level cap again? No thanks, I'm done with this game.

I'm not even a sweat and this pissed me off. It's not like I had any weapon even near gold but it was my plan eventually. The almost doubled the XP requirement to get a gun gold compared to before. And making the weapon levels 500 XP smaller is such a small change that they might as well not have made it at all.
This shit is upsetting because they are already making baaad decisions at the very start of this game's potential lifecycle

Jev, when the spider bot jumps on you, you can look straight down and shoot it off when it’s on your face👍
What they should’ve done is increased the camo level requirement by the same as the xp then you get attachments quicker and you’d get the camos at the same rate as before the change
And I thought I was losing my mind cause I also noticed both Loud Footsteps & No Kill Confirm Sound.
But for Loud Footsteps, I only noticed it in Attica Heights. On other maps, the footstep sound was ok and not that high.
And even though I don't hear the Kill Confirm Sound after kills, I do hear that Kill Confirm Sound but in random occasions where I didn't even do anything.

idk man ive been having this random reload glitch, id take my hands off my keybored and my character would randomly reload, or while im mid fight shooting away it would randomly reload, I even switched keys putting it father away and it still happens. its very frustrating

I've been grinding multiple guns at a time getting each one ranked up a good amount (not max) mainly because I get bored using the same weapon for long periods of time but before the update I only had one gun gold and that was the tac 50. Every other gun I have is rank 60+ and I was slowly getting them all to Gold with what little time i've had to play lately. This change just absolutely made me stop even trying to get gold on any guns now lol. I'm definitely going to play less because that grind factor is no longer there for me.
They should’ve left it how it was and gave us 2 new mastery camos at 150 and 200

Did the math for anyone wondering. The XP gun change is not a small difference it is a HUGE difference. To get a gun gold you needed exactly 350,000 XP (aka lvl 100) before. Now for a primary weapon it is 600,000 XP to get to level 200. The change from 3500 to 3000 for each level is insignificant when considering the 3k is multiplied by 200 vs 3.5k multiplied by 100.
