He didn't commit suicide because he was fucked up on drugs. He committed suicide because a traumatic experience left him completely fucked up in the head. The man honestly believed that his near-death experience had killed him and that his life was a dream.

I had the same psychosis delusion in 2020. Cotard syndrome, it is so terrifying and equally just disgusting! Imagine thinking you are dead and rotting in hell, you feel your flesh rot and bugs crawling inside you and feel there is no hope, only to be thrown alive into Gahanna. You beg all your family and friends to help you, and they refuse to even hug you because it is summer 2020

Pelle’s birthday passed 15 days ago… may he Rest In Peace, where he is no longer suffering. He would’ve been 54 years old. He was truly talented like crazy. I would’ve loved to see him perform live. I love listening to the live in Leipzig, Per’s voice is so raw and charming. He was also very handsome. With the most amazing smile. Even though he was suffering, I believe he did have some good times.

Actually it wasn't a skiing accident. Dead told both necrobuthcer and öustein (spelling) that it was a skiing accident. But what really happened (Sweden Rock Magazine has 2 chapters about Dead) was that Dead didn't have any easy time in school. One day he got beat up so bad that he later that day actually died. This has been claimed by both his brother Anders Ohlin and his father.

"Coursed" the band, could be "blessed" the band...the narrator is not the problem, our interpretation change it all. It means that with Dead, his energy, changed everything...and the "sacrifice" put the band in another level. For this and another things we know Mayhem all over the world. The band was respected in underground since the Deathcrush album, but all that happen in the 90's influenced a lot...

By the way what does self preservation have to do with heavy metal music? What happened to pelle and eventually euronymous via varg vikernes was a direct result of two people being legitimately psychologically unwell. bands like dark throne, immortal, hellhammer, bathory, among many others were also heavily submerged in this sort of music and yet have 0 history in the way of violence. Don't paint in such broad strokes.

They most definitely were not straight edge, haha, though Hellhammer claims to be clean these days (whether he was back then, I don't know). The likes of Necrobutcher and Attilla were into drugs, perhaps they still are, plus Maniac had his serious alcohol problems, I think Mayhem really took its tool on Blasphemer as well by the time of the Chimera tour (though he was still apparently sober enough to kick Maniac down a flight of stairs). I expect the only completely sober musician involved with Mayhem was Varg, though I don't know about Snorre, he doesn't exactly strike me as a party animal either.

Marilyn Manson has NOTHING to do with black metal, black metal is it's own genre.
it's from a different time, and a different place.
They write about different things, the teutonic themes vary between both groups.
I don't understand the comparison you are trying to make here.
Marilyn Manson's goal isn't to be 'BR00TAL' at all!
If I want brutal gimme Dimmu/Mayhem, if I want depressive themes with depthy atmosphere I'll chuck on manson.

right. Wouldn't someone like Euronymous be trying to surround himself with things that would make him benefit? While, from what I remember about this subject, someone with masochistic personality disorder more refers to someone who surrounds himself to be set up for failure, or in this case specifically negativity and death? ( im not trying to arguing at all,and i havent read anything about this topic in years, so maybe I should) And you are right, it was never accepted into the DSM.
