Pelle’s birthday passed 15 days ago… may he Rest In Peace, where he is no longer suffering. He would’ve been 54 years old. He was truly talented like crazy. I would’ve loved to see him perform live. I love listening to the live in Leipzig, Per’s voice is so raw and charming. He was also very handsome. With the most amazing smile. Even though he was suffering, I believe he did have some good times.
Actually it wasn't a skiing accident. Dead told both necrobuthcer and öustein (spelling) that it was a skiing accident. But what really happened (Sweden Rock Magazine has 2 chapters about Dead) was that Dead didn't have any easy time in school. One day he got beat up so bad that he later that day actually died. This has been claimed by both his brother Anders Ohlin and his father.
The narrator is off on a lot. Right from the start speaks as if Pelle cursed the band. Then like he changed so much of the band. One day someone will get the story right, i hope...
"Coursed" the band, could be "blessed" the band...the narrator is not the problem, our interpretation change it all. It means that with Dead, his energy, changed everything...and the "sacrifice" put the band in another level. For this and another things we know Mayhem all over the world. The band was respected in underground since the Deathcrush album, but all that happen in the 90's influenced a lot...
Your missing the point..There are a lot of bands who act a certain way just to sell records.Mayhem was not bullshitting, they were real. You may not agree with it but none the less it wasn't an act.
yea it's possible he could have had that too, the reason I suspect Asperger's though is because of his social awkwardnes, intensely strong fassicination with death, and apperent mild dissintrest with people in general
Screaming Lord Sutch Britian 1964. He was wearing a prototype of corpse paint. I wish there was video of Hellhammer's baptism. "Do you promise to be Hellhammer's spiritual guardian?"
Icepick _24RUS well euro sent one to a columbian record company in 91 and kept the rest of them behind the counter in helvete (his shop). after he had been killed the pictures were sent to his family and his dad burned the rest.
Isn't that incident with the ice skating just a myth? I heard he was tormented by bullies as a kid and as a result he psychosomatic- ally combusted his intestines, or something on those lines.
You got to respect these guys they just didn't talk the talk. Guys like marilyn manson just pretended to be brutal to sell albums these dudes were fucking real.
By the way what does self preservation have to do with heavy metal music? What happened to pelle and eventually euronymous via varg vikernes was a direct result of two people being legitimately psychologically unwell. bands like dark throne, immortal, hellhammer, bathory, among many others were also heavily submerged in this sort of music and yet have 0 history in the way of violence. Don't paint in such broad strokes.
They most definitely were not straight edge, haha, though Hellhammer claims to be clean these days (whether he was back then, I don't know). The likes of Necrobutcher and Attilla were into drugs, perhaps they still are, plus Maniac had his serious alcohol problems, I think Mayhem really took its tool on Blasphemer as well by the time of the Chimera tour (though he was still apparently sober enough to kick Maniac down a flight of stairs). I expect the only completely sober musician involved with Mayhem was Varg, though I don't know about Snorre, he doesn't exactly strike me as a party animal either.
What is the name of this MayheM documentary? I am thinking of getting everything concerning black metal history i can in it`s original (and preferably legal) form. Thanks in advance RIP Per Yngve Ohlin

Marilyn Manson has NOTHING to do with black metal, black metal is it's own genre. it's from a different time, and a different place. They write about different things, the teutonic themes vary between both groups. I don't understand the comparison you are trying to make here. Marilyn Manson's goal isn't to be 'BR00TAL' at all! right. Wouldn't someone like Euronymous be trying to surround himself with things that would make him benefit? While, from what I remember about this subject, someone with masochistic personality disorder more refers to someone who surrounds himself to be set up for failure, or in this case specifically negativity and death? ( im not trying to arguing at all,and i havent read anything about this topic in years, so maybe I should) And you are right, it was never accepted into the DSM.
Yeah, there's one that his brother Anders agreed to do. It is awesome, very different from the rest of the interviews (obviously). He showed us a new way of seeing him, his life and his personality and shared some stories he had with him.

man Pelle nailed the black metal sound with that voice,he sounded like something from the evil dead flick.

The god of death
Dead was not human. A human destiny he had received. He've belonged to an other world... He wanted that no one will ever missed him...
"He sent me a crucified mouse..."
Best black metal anecdote ever...
Euronymous could've prevented his suicide, but he just let it happen for the band's image

A Xamã, a sorcerer, an iniciated in the mysterys...
Respect from Brasil/Sergipe/Aracaju !!!
Look, I understand not being a cat person. I'm not really a cat person myself, but I've never met anyone who actively hates cats.
I must say that this upset me deeply because the way they described dead is how i feel thats why i have such a strong bond with him i understood him.
Thank you for the upload, I really like the Deathcrush E.P from 1987, but I did not know too much about dead, kind regards,

Pelle was the true essence of black metal...
What is the name of the documentary that this came from? Thanks for posting this by the way, I enjoyed it thoroughly. \m/
Ohlin's wikipedia page mentions something called Cotard delusion. Could that also be a possibility?
I wonder what happened to the original corpse pictures of Ohlin?
If I am not mistaken, pictures were burned by parents of Euronymous...
Icepick _24RUS well euro sent one to a columbian record company in 91 and kept the rest of them behind the counter in helvete (his shop). after he had been killed the pictures were sent to his family and his dad burned the rest.
SoullessNaga Yes, he sent one picture to Mauricio Bull Metal and he edited later Mayhem " Dawn of the black hearts".
Pelles brother Anders was given the rights of the pictures, but the original photos were destroyed
Euronymous's parents threw them away after he was killed. Apparently only 1 or 2 of them were even in focus
@PeterTheZoo He is Manheim, the drummer before Hellhammer
Points of view ..
Pelle hated life, say not to be human and to belong to another dimension ...
Thanks a lot for uploading!
Can they please make a full-fledged documentary about him
