This guy got kicked out of Sweet because his voice wasn't the same as in the early years. Can you see the injustice?
He was singing well, giving the heart, that was not enough ???
Fuck, Brian smoked a lot, not to mention that fight where he was assaulted with 15 kicks in the throat. After all that, do you still want his voice to continue as it was at 71? Holy shit!
Brian was wronged, kicked out of his own band, which aggravated his alcohol addiction.
I'm sorry, Brian. You deserved so much more love and understanding!

He asked Mick Tucker and Steven Priest to join him and create a new band. The original line up was: Brian Francis Connolly,Steven Priest,Mick Tucker,Frank Torpey. The band was created in 1967.Andy Scott is the 3rd guitar player HIRED by Brian in the late summer of 1970. So Scott is not from the original line as he pretend. This is a very powerful performance. His best? Probably not, but really unexpected how good it actually was. I have always wished that I could have seen them, but I was just a little too young in the late 70s. I'm glad I found this video. All we ever hear of Brian's final days are pain and misery, but this show was a nice bit of light.

    • @silviazanicotti5054
      @silviazanicotti5054 2 дні тому

No, it was certainly not Brian's best performance. It was the best display of his courage: a courage far superior to his beauty, which had been astonishing in his youth. On that stage all his fragility, human vulnerability, shown as any person could have done, on that stage the ability to smile bearing the cross, as few in life know how to do, on that stage the strength to show on his face the signs of illness, of suffering, of pain in body and soul, virtues of people you can count on your fingertips. Then magically the trembling disappears, sweep away the fatigue...a sense of pure light and splendour remains... And it's always for this that I cannot help but thank him... for everything.❤

Steve Priest agreed, & Tucker eventually caved. Brian was missing recording sessions & was drunk & on drugs to the point where he was pulled from the stage in Alabama bcs he didn't know who or where he was. They should have helped him, but didn't. Do some damn reading, woman! And stop telling people whom they can & can't like in the band. You have no right to do that. How many here must rebuke you before you stop with your foolishness? to Brett: I think it's great of you to give opinion on the comments of other fans. I like that.
The sight of Brian cuts me to the heart. I should this presentation better not compare the performances of the 70s of SWEET. He still seems to give everything on stage, it is exhausting for him to find the right tone. How Aussie Outlaw already mentioned, Brian Connolly was fantastic. I have been more than 40 years to be a Sweet fan and it'll be up to my last breath! Dave Farmer has done a good job, at the same time I think of the incredible-madness drummer Mick Tucker and another painful loss!

Well hello there to Ellen R, hope you are good.
Thanks again for your comment Ellen, i dig it.
Brian was in good form that night even did a double encore for us.
Unfortunately Brian couldn't get the dental work completed in time for this show...........and he wasn't about to let something like that get in the way of a bit of Rock n Roll !
Videos/pics from after this time show that things were soon back to normal.
Of course you can't really compare against the original Sweet from the 70s, Brian would have told you that himself.
Dave Farmer returns for this gig and a diff bass player too, and there were no rehearsals only a soundcheck.
So everyone did a pretty good job of flying by the seat of their pants i think.
I'm a long time Sweet fan like you and i also wish Brian and Mick were still here with us.
Both these gentlemen had decorum and etiquette as well as being proper Rock n Roll champions.
Enjoy the rest of the day Ellen and stay Sweet.
      Regards from Brett.

      R.i.P. moji chlapci - Brian a Mick!
