Tbh, as someone living in austria, i was worried about this season being bad and cringe, simply based on the content in lgbt reality tv content we got so far - after the meet the queens i was so pumped and had hope and now im simply happy for germany entering the franchise and delivering a season thats not flawless but surely one of my favorites so far and finally having a season where i dont need subtitles has really something that makes it automatically easier to connect to. Thanks for reviewing the season and make it even more enjoyable ❤️

I'm obsessed with the statistic that every single episode of Drag Race Germany so far has featured either Tessa or Victoria (or both) in the lipsync.
Right? They really put at least one of the two Swiss queens in the bottom each episode. Iconic.
It was Love Parade, not Club Kid! The Love Parade was a 'street party' that was a protest against hate, homophobia, war, nuclear weapons, etc and promoted unity through music. It was political. It was a fight for humanity. It was also one heck of a party! 🖤
Well, to be fair, it was mostly a huge rave and not really a protest.
@@RettetdenUmlaut That's what it ended up as but, just like Pride, it started out as a way to protest against things happening at the time and changed once it became commercialised.
@@RettetdenUmlautit was one the most important protests against the wall and division of Germany and cold war. So i think it's important to remember the roots of these events that have maybe turned into parties in the end

About Victoria's 3 in 1: The first look was "Basler Fasnacht" (Swiss carnival from the city of Basel - where she lives) Basler Fasnacht is known for their colourful big fun masks. And with the second look she showed carnival in Brasil. Which i thought was cute of her to show her two cultures in one.
Another brazilian here just waiting for the Drag Race Brasil review and still leaving a comment to help with the metrics.

i have to say as a native german speaker i didn‘t really enjoy the snatch game and some of the judging (arnold being high?) was a bit confusing. i love the cast but i think improv isn’t their greatest strength so i hope the remaining eps will be ones where they can show their strengths more. the rusical ep was probably my fav of the season so far and the runways have been great!
I agree! Confusion is the perfect word. I'm confused too! I don't feel that Nikita deserved to go home based on her experience and unique vision. I thought the caviar look was lovely! Personally I would have kept her over a young queen, throwing her perfect (if store bought?) body in the judges faces. Plus track record??? Oh well, ...
all i want is for Kelly to win this season, and then Melissa to win Italy's Drag Race, so we'll have 3 brazilian queens crowned in one year. yes yes

Darby, you are correct about the pronunciation of Babar! Both about the sound of the vowel and the emphasis on the second syllable in French.
I was so distracted for the first 10 minutes of the video because of that single long hair on Alexis’ chest that was just sitting there, not moving, and all I could think of was “damn how did Darby not say anything to her?? What a b****!”…
……but then I realized one of my eyelashes had fallen onto my phone screen and it blew off shortly thereafter… woops 🤷♀️ nevermind!

Locally where i am you'd say bye, if you're personal with the other person, as /pa'pa:/. It's just spoken though, i never read the word written out.
Also, the same letter almost always has the same pronunciation. E, I and O have two. It's not like English, you just actually read how you write...
I'm so excited to see the Pink Lemonade wig back, Lady 'Lexis, that's how I know it's going to be a good episode. As an american who took german in high school for some reason, I'm so proud to vaguely understand some of what is happening in these episodes. Tschüss ladies!

German here. I was so confused watching the snatch game because to me it was not funny AT all and I thought Kelly would be in the bottom and when she won i was extra baffled. Plus aparently Nikita's performance was worse than what they showed in the actual episode but it's so weird that they cut that out, because without her screwing up she didn't seem so bad which made watching the episode and the judging so weird and confusing to me.
I agree. I feel like the judging has been confusing as hell!? Glad to know that you, from inside the culture, are also feeling some confusion. I love these queens, but have not loved the judging and choices of who is sent home and why??? IMO Tessa and Victoria both out lived their time on the show and I feel like the franchise suffered for that. Maybe it's just me though...
@@rubyk.1506 I totally agree. Both queens are super talented and I like them both but the show pushed their stay a little too long, which made Queens like LéLé Cocoon and Barbie Q have to go home prematurely. I also disagreed with the double Shantay in the first episode. It gave me Italia season 1 vibes where they just saved both queens just because which has huge effect on the season because the queen who could have sashayed survived all the way through to the finals.
kelly as bruce darnell was a very deserved win, imo. pandora and meta should have been switched, and I would have been okay with just loreley and nikita in the lipsync
