Starship V2 inbound! Do you think this version will be the one to take Starship to full operations?
well, given the schedule and when they want to be on mars, they have to be ready within the next year. there is a transferwindow in Q4 2024. that means that they must be able to land too, which can't be tested much. even just cratering a starship into mars would be a massive success, because of their iterative design. they might do a few testlandings on moon.
Me neither. V2 will be batch to test catch, and validate 9 engine version with bigger tanks. Maybe even it will have payload, but I doubt it will have any payload on board
I'm thinking a V3 ship (whatever that becomes). I think the V2 series of ships will be the learning curve, and the V3 ships will likely all have the Raptor-3 engines, to include many other yet-to-be-determined improvements. I'll bet it will be a V3 and R3 configuration that goes to the moon. We’ll see I guess. Great job Felix!
I think V2 will reach orbit with useful cargo, but Starship/boster need one or two more iteration before Starship/boster work as intended, land and not damage itself or the tower.
Frohe Weihnachten für dich und deine Familie ❤🎁🎄✨
Title isn't clickbaity, that's great!
Yeah, it usually is clickbaity
Thats why I dont watch felix often anymore. I dont want to click on click bait titles
Y'all clearly do not watch the whole videos then 😂
it was clickbaity 20 mins ago 😂
Asking a question in the title is click bait.
I cant wait for the fun in 2024! Thank you team WAI
Hey Felix! What do you think of the idea of using a modified Falcon rocket to test the Chopstix catching system?
@@andrewadius142 doesn't really make sense. starship is way bigger so modifications would need to be plentiful and the thrust system on falcon is very different.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too, Felix!
B10 attempted a spin prime/static fire on Dec 21, but they aborted midway through methane/lox loading.
Merry Christmas WAI Crew. Thanks for the wonderful content all year.
Merry Christmas, Felix, and to your family and the WAI crew. Looking forward to being with you in 2024.
Merry Christmas, Felix!!!
Great episode Felix. Thanks to you and your team for creating all this frequent, amazing content.
Starship Rocks!!!
6 launches in 2024... 1 every 2 months...

Thank you very much! 🎄
Thanks for all the team has done over the past year, great past year review! Thanks again!
Happy New Year Felix....
I'm going to say 6 starship launches in 2024. Great job Felix and all WAI team. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
four. that is my guess
@@GaryTilman909 U mad?
I believe 5 orbital and 5 suborbital launches per year is the limit for Starbase, based on environmental review. Maybe they'll do suborbital hops to test catch/ landing. But I wouldn't expect more than 5 launches.
2024 will be a year of great changes. Some good, some bad. It should be an interesting year. Good luck everyone and Merry Christmas.
A super exciting year. Great job at keeping us up to date. Looking forward to an amazing 2024.
Merry Christmas Everyone! Thanks WAI team for all the exciting updates on space development and exploration!
Quick technical note on terminology: the nose cone welding "jig" is not a jig at all, it is a fixture. Jigs are ONLY used to refer to guides for hand-drilling parts accurately. Fixtures are much more broadly applicable as a technical term.
Great episode thanks Felix, you rock
Merry Christmas!!!
Happy holidays to you and your team!!!!
Thanks Felix. Starship launches in 2024...? My guess is 5..... Love your work mate...!
cheers WAI, long time follower and still cheering~
Great Episode Felix!!
Maybe I did like my own comment. You'll never know...

A very HAPPY CHRISTMAS to you and all the crew. Have a great restful break, luv ya, DONT PANIC 🙂😎
Thanks for the updates Felix, you're an absolute star.
These are thrilling days. Your enthusiasm is great, 'totally appropriate.
Merry Christmas Felix and Steph and family👪. Your vids are great, and informative. Hope to spend '24 with you.
I like how at 0:26 you can see the inner engines firing outwards and then gimbal back to normal
Great coverage Felix... YOU ROCK! 🤟😁🤘
Merry Christmas to you and your family too..,
I like how at 1:17 you can see the inner and outer engine fire separately
Merry Christmas
Thank you, WAI team for great 2023 coverage! Enjoy your holiday break and see you in 2024!
For the next launch, second week in January makes the most sense to me.
On the other hand, Launching on New Years day would be a great way to celebrate the new year.
I don't expect it to happen before mid February.
This channel is better than other that i find in YT.
It still surprises me that a guy with a millermatic and a grinder gets in a boom lift and welds structural parts onto an orbital rocket. Gooooooo! stainless steel!
Good work. 📣Merry Christmas ✨🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾
They should launch at midnight on New Years. The worlds largest fireworks. Only I hope third time is the charm and we hit full orbit.
Good idea
The "unknown" table is to "press" the domes into the outer structure, giving a tight enough fit that welding can be automated.
From France 👋
Frohe Weinachten und Guten Rutsch, Familie Schlang!
B10 static fire any day now. Launch 3 in early January. 1.5 months to Launch 4, 1.25 months to launch 5, 1 month between launch 6-10, so 8 launches in 2024. In 2025 launch starship 1 every 2 weeks, so 24 launches. Won't need to build near as many starships as most people think. Once they start catching superheavy & starship can re-use again and again, and cadence gets even faster. Humanity is on the precipice of going into space in a big way thanks to this game changing technology....
@whataboutit do you know the reason why the engines are not ignited at the same time? It seams like first the standard, than the vacuum by shutting down the standard. you can see it by the flames during static fire. is it the force or the start sequence during hot stageing
Another quality episode.
Merry Christmas!
Im glad they seem to be making the thing stronger rather than weaker, this is a reusable vehicle (what a concept) so it needs to be durable enough to be beat on and tolerate some sub optimal conditions.
The tank walls are likely to get thinner.
the weak point here, for quick reusability, is very likely the launch mount
I've subscribed to this channel more than once. Why does UA-cam do this? It's very unfair.
I've watched every episode since hopper test. And still I find the pace staggering, to see that the olit is already functional after the last launch and seems to be ready for the next one is crazy. Because they have a booster and ship at the end of their testing campaign, I think spacex is going to increase their rate even more, launching the next ship booster in a few weeks.
Those vertical strakes are to increase stiffness where they are added.
New Year's Eve would be a great time to launch it!
8:08 i think you mixed booster 9 with booster 7 on the script?
why we did not see broadcast from th booster or the ship in flight two during lunch
Whenever the next launch is, Ill be there.
Great vid
Awesome video. Merry Christmas to you and the WAI crew! A couple questions: there was a 'burst' of condensation from the upper half of S28 during the static fire. Any idea what caused that? Also seemed B10 did not use the alignment pins when being lifted out of the transporter or lowered into the OLP. Did I miss them? Any thoughts of the E Dome being incorportated into V2? Thank you again.
Hi what about it thanks for the new updates on the space industry and a happy 😃 Christmas 🎅 and a happy new year David 🚀👌❤️🇬🇧👍🎅
I'm predicting mid to late February and possibly as early as late January, but time will tell. Hopefully this 3rd test will go smoothly
😮Felix, Excellent info for this space layperson. SpaceX always fascinating in accomplishments.👍 Lots of costs in space programs, but I prefer seeing safe operations over speed of them. It's all so exciting to see. 🎉 Your comments funny, duh! 😂 Loved it. Thanks to you and your team for the hard work benefitting folks.
It would be great if SpaceX could mount a heat resistance camera to look at the center of the exhaust flame pressures on the water vapor from the deluge system.
Thanks.
Nice
How much of this was pulled from previous shows. I recognized a lot of it.
What's almost as amazing as SpaceX preparing to launch 144 rockets in 2024 is the fact that they have enough customers and payloads to warrant so many launches. Even if a good number of them are Starlink launches, I wouldn't have thought there are so many orbital payloads waiting to be launched.
WHy do the fins on Starship lauch stay in the open position while in the other launches are in the closed position?
Bet the Chinese pay very very close attention to the video coverage of SpacX’s progress and development
Massey would be a great place to build a test catch tower, ironing out the landing details without worrying about enviromental issues, since it was a test gun range.
could they use the payload bay to extend solar panels?
I should not say so but that Ariane furz amused me. Fröhliche Weihnachten Felix!
Wishing we could have a launch Christmas day.
4:55 there is no Sanchez site. Explain how it's not considered a part of the build site at this point?
I picked it right on the rings, for once 😂
second OLM would have to be close to the existing tank farm + deluge ?
I think realistically they can manage between 4 to 8 launches in 2024. That would be an awesome achievement. But then they could manage more knowing them.
Felix, love your videos! Please try to find out how they intend to prevent gas bubbles from forming in the fuel lines when the engines have to be re-started?
I just thought of a solution! Gas bubbles can be prevented by mixing the fuel with surfactants!
What do you folks think?
