Wow I can never get my lettuce to go beyond maybe 3 months. By then it starts getting tall and ready to bolt. My home is always around 73-75 so that may be why. I am in Texas so I don’t have a cooler spot. Really gorgeous lettuce thank you so much for all you do!!!
I grew some of this type in Winter in my gardens. It was very good lettuce. I couldn`t stop picking the leaves too early. But I have no car and stores are far away so to have fresh lettuce I have to grow it. The friendly bunnies in my yard ate my outdoor lettuce. I need to plant a giant patch so I can have some too.
I thought romaine grew tall and skinny, like you get them at the store. These seem more bushy. How would you get a nice big head of romaine, good for grilling.
I have been trying but I couldn't get lettuce head. Not sure if there are variations further in Parris Island itself. Maybe I should try seeds from other seed companies. I tried a few varieties that supposed to come like a nice head but I could never get it it in hydroponics. Everything turns out to be loose leaf.
I only like one plant per pod as well. I feel like I have more control over them, able to give them the space they need. I do have a problem with tip burn on romaine style lettuces, I will keep trying but salad bowl seems to work better for me and my room. Not sure why. I see you had a tiny bit of tip burn as well.
I’m going to order these seeds! Did you top off with plain water between feedings or did you top off with the MaxiGrow solution? I ordered a Mugfa, should get here in a couple days! I need to start another set of lettuce since it’s still snowing here in my part of Alaska with 3 ft of snow on the ground. No lettuce will be ready in the outdoor garden until July.
I used to use 1 teaspoon of MaxiGro per liter in the earlier days. Now-a-days, I am just feeding half a teaspoon per liter and it is working well. 1 tsp/gal looks little less and I don't see a good growth so I stick to half a teaspoon for 1 liter of water.
@@aerogardenexperiments Thank you for the clarification! I was trying to figure out what to do for some lettuce I had growing in a 12 pod iDoo system, and this is very helpful!
You are amazing, my friend! Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos and helping people. 👍✌️

I grew this type of lettuce too but yours looks much better. My gardens are cheap ones. I need to buy one like yours.
Wow! More than three months on Paris Island Cos!
I'd love to see an update! (I did a search on your channel with no luck).
I just got this variety of lettuce seed from the dollar tree. I might give it a try!
Great video, thanks!
Awesome!
What size aerogarden are you using? Since that will make a difference for the nutrients based on how much water it holds.
Amazing. What was the amount of liquid nutrients did you put in the garden container every 14 days?
Initially I was adding 1 tea spoon. Once the plants got bigger, I increased it to 1 and half teaspoons.
How often did you add the nutrients?
@@considerthebirdsits like 1 minute into the video plus @vmuse55 said it again in the comment. Every 14 days
That is beautiful lettuce!..did you notice a difference in flavor over aerogardens plant food?

I haven't seen any difference in flavor between using AG nutes vs MaxiGro.
@@aerogardenexperiments ahh good to know!
Bro, you can have them look like that growing out of large vitamin container
the difference is usually care.
Great video! Can you explain what you said at the 5:58 mark regarding why you moved them to lower temperature?
to prevent tip burns (you can turn on cc for clarification).
Keeping the garden at low temperature prevents tip burns. Also, the lettuce will be tasty (less bitter, more sweeter).

yeah, I got little tip burns in earlier days. That's when I moved the garden to low temperature and no more tip burns afterwards.
I’ve found the Parris Island romaine used in this video works better for me in aerogardens.
@@considerthebirds I might have to try it. I assumed all Parris island seeds to be the same variety but who knows.
I’m going to order these seeds!

yes, I am following what I normally do with AG nutes. Just top off with plain water as water level goes low, and feed nutrition every 14 days.
Thank you for this question and the reply. I was confused on this point!
Did you put an entire teaspoon of MaxiGro into the 2L Aerogarden harvest? Or were you going with 1 tsp/gal of water concentration?

What was the mix ratio???? How many grams of MaxiGro per liter (or gallon)?
Half a teaspoon for one liter of water.
