Y’all know his feelings are hurt about his mother leaving and y’all immediately pressed him with questions about it 10 seconds later. Chill.
Future Universe X Read the Malcom X biography
He doesn't look hurt @ all. He looks as if he doesn't really give AF! My real concern is, if his level of reading and writing is the same as his poor level of speech. Sounds as if he needs to go back to grade school!
MUSIC LOVER and what was this to say , maybe his speech just isn’t good but speech doesn’t really affect your learning abilities.... I swear some of YOU people need to go back to school to learn manners, wasn’t raised right I’m guessing.
@@aw7474 If a person can't string together a proper sentence...then that is a problem. He's getting by on sports alone...wouldn't it be better if he got by with brains and athleticism!?
MUSIC LOVER ok if a person can’t string together a proper sentence then what does it have to do with you ? Like I said maybe he has speech problems but just because his speech is off doesn’t mean his ability to learn and read and write is off , your making one simple disability bigger than what it is and yes it would be better if he got by with brains and athleticism cause I’m pretty sure he already has them both.
I wish I would have had the strength to make my own decision on signing day. To this day I regret not going where I wanted. Respect to this man.
Google the full story, his mom had a right to be upset. Not to mention he didn't exactly shine at Florida.
It's up to him where he wants to go. His mom should support him wherever he goes. I feel so bad for this kid. Be proud that your boy made it to college. That is an accomplishment in itself. I have to add this in: Mom said Florida has all his gangster friends there so that was why she got upset. Thanks for suggesting to add that in, Hitchcock.
Any updates about the guy?
I thought I heard, he declared for the 2023 NFL draft. Probably why this is rotating again
@@Dontaskmeforshit Mom didn't want him to attend Florida because his gangster buddies are there. That was the excuse for her action.

Teachable moment. It's called SPIN to fulfill the collective enslavement of America. ESPN is a politically correct media beast. Conservatives have long been the victim of these tactics from mainstream media.
@@jazbeasley8249 she was hurt. Alabama was more than a school for her. It was a chance to get her son away from the gang violence that took his older brother and that he also had some affiliation to. He chose Florida bc of gang affiliation, that's why she walked out.
He probably did it to get away from her...some parents can be overbearing.

since people still haven’t commented on it, his mom walked out due to Copeland wanting to stay in Florida because of his gang ties. she just wanted her son to leave that behind. but she came back later on to hug and kiss him
Bama is closer to his hometown than UF (by over 100 miles), so it doesn't make sense for her wanting him to go to Bama over UF given the reason.
This is not a mom, thats sad to leave her own son like that.
His gang is from Florida... this was his ticket out and his mom was upset that he essentially chose Florida to stay close to his gang
This dude is Nobody, he doesn't respect he's mom wishes

Classless reporter probed the kid when he was obviously hurt and phased by his mom leaving. That sucked to watch
nabil esmail especially since that was his first question. He could have at least asked why he choose Florida first etc.
I don’t 100% blame the reporter he maybe thought that it was more of a comedic walk out and not necessarily a serious asshole decision. He also maybe didn’t wanna embarrass the kid even more by allowing a further horrible interview and just tried to get him talking instead of crying, idk I just feel really bad for him
Mary Jacone go read the reason behind her actions before you comment on them and ask what you would do
You have to give credit to the young man for thinking about his future especially if he wants to play right away. If he was going to Alabama he's probably would have to compete with 2 or 3 other four star players for the same position.
His mom is hella disrespectful for that move. If she had an issue with his decision then you handle that at home. She should be glad her son is getting a full ride education for free

Nate Falls right he could of just talk about what he pick an why . He did it for ratings an no passion for life or others
No, the reporter was helping the guy by giving him a platform to explain his reasoning in a polarizing situation. The guy is taking the steps into becoming a man, and the reporter helps him understand (through a definite outcome of crowd validation) that becoming a man means making your own decisions even when they will upset some people. It is obvious that the woman would be his mother because that is normally who sits next to them, and the reporter knew the crowd validating what he had to say through cheering would help ease the situation. The reporter not only was doing this for ratings, but if we want to college picks to be shown they have to do stuff like this or everytime something uncomfortable like this happens less and less people would be willing to watch them and the showing doesn't exist at all.
That's what reporters do, makes shitty moves and be disrespectful, when it not the reporter buisness agreed foul move

@@angelawilliams9088 Apparantly 1 of her sons died and another is in prison because of gang life but not sure that thats 100% true but yeah it's a scary world when you become a parent lol
Its now 5 years later and he didn’t make it pro by going to Florida. Should’ve listened to his mama and gone to Alabama
Update, Jacob Copeland ended up transferring to Maryland, and is now a Draft Prospect at WR
That’s dope. Chose his own path and is hopefully on his way to greater success.
The original "a'ight, i'mma head out"
No it’s the “aight, imma fuh witcha”
@@flashkills5757 NO! NO! NO!
😂😂🤣
Please learn how to talk I don't understand how these guys can go to college and can't make a sentence probably can't read and all they have is Talent with a football or basketball how do you say you're educated after 4 years of college well maybe one just so you can get in the NFL draft I just wonder how many guys that had full scholarship that didn't make it into the NFL what are they doing now but anyway I don't mean no disrespect just the way it is
😂😂😂😂
No ones gonna point out the fact that the nice man in the blue shirt came over and sat in his moms spot and put his arm over Jacob?
Maybe that was his coach and or mentor.
Money
Thats his father.......duuuuuuuuuh. Smh. Nice man.....lol.....smh
Jerald Grant so since it’s his father he can no longer be a nice man? Smh my head
He's sad for his son too because he knows he's goin to Florida for his gang instead of pickin a better team and a new life... Y'all should read into it
Mom got tf up outta there because she took the envelope, already spent it, now she's looking to dodge the Bama recruiter she took the envelope from! 😂
No dad. What a shocker.
The sad thing is this is what ppl are going to remember;his mom walking out. Not the fact that he got accepted into multiple great schools😐
Yea yea and if he falls victim to the wrong element that she wanted him to escape in the first place we’ll continue to blame her for not trying hard enough.
Infinite Dreams thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cause I’m sorry if it was about “control” the mom and grandma wouldn’t have gotten upset like that grandma is heart broken
I think that was the point she wanted to make her disappointment a public display
It's an unfortunate situation but when you search up his name of Google the top results his stats and a few recent articles are calling him "a freak of nature"
He chose Florida for a fucking gang imagine raising your son then him choosing a college near his gang friends
That’s so disrespectful of his mother to do that on National television.
Yup, to even do it in general is mad disrespect
She was upset because he had gang ties in Florida and she didn’t want him getting caught up in that stuff. She wanted him out of state so he wouldn’t be involved in gang activitys
jessica fabrega also her dumb friend that was sitting next to her
@Victory Combat the university in Florida is exactly where his gang homies are it's the same school they attend he said he wanted to be close to home so he can still be with family, and I guess Alabama uni is close to home like u said but he still chose to go florida so that's how she knows he's going only so he can stay close with the gang
Don't speak on stuff till you di the research dummy
That must hurt though 😢
This is sad I hope my mom is next to me on signing day
I understand the whole “liking a certain college or team” thing, but to be a mother and to walk out on a huge day such as this is unacceptable. My heart goes out to the boy and I hope he is doing great.
T E E N D R E A M O it was actually due to his gang involvement in Florida and obviously his mother doesn’t want him to be near that, but later in the broadcast she does come back and kiss and hug him
Mr FAN thank you, I’m glad she came back and I understand now why she was against this due to the gang related stuff😊
@@hello100532 well I'm glad I read your comment before I posted anything......I felt so bad for that kid. I understand why she did that. (Kinda) glad she came back and he's doing well.
I'm from California and live in Alabama and when I tell you these people are insane about Alabama, THEY ARE FUCKING INSANE ABOUT ALABAMA! I've never seen anything like it! It's kinda disturbing. 😄
Well she did what she wanted to do and he did what he wanted to do!! She just has to realize its his life!
As a Alabama fan if my son picked another school I would have stayed by his side its not about her it was his day and she fucked it up
Jeff Ingram but as a parent would you want ur son to stay home where he's been arrested numerous times both parents have on different gear for a reason trying to save him
how is he staying home. Tuscaloosa is 260 miles away and Gainesville is 340 miles away. I just looked it up and my suspicion was correct Florida despite being in state is further from home than Bama so I think thats a weak excuse.
Thomas DeMay people are connected out here.
and they aren't connected at Bama and Tennessee too? I've seen plenty of players from Bama and Tennessee get in trouble with the law over the years. Hell they don't call it the "Fulmer Cup" for nothing. All these schools are in the same area of the country and all treat Athlethics the same way. It's not like he turned down Duke or Vanderbuilt or schools thousands of miles away. Had his finally three been USC Ohio State and Florida maybe you would have a point but Bama and Tennessee.
Jeff Ingram probably boosters. Your son joins us, here is a signing bonus. Didn’t sign with Ten or Bama, there goes the bonus.
Imagine caring more about your college than your own son
Tell the full story
Why are his own relatives pressuring him by wearing “their” choice? Its not about you. Let the kid decide
Rossa4 people justify it by saying it’s his mom and she should decide for him and that’s definitely not true
Hes going to Florida because he's in a gang out there his mom wanted him to get out
Roll Tide
They were expecting a payout. Ncaa should investigate. Its getting out of control. Just pay the players and keep the leeches out.
Thank You!!!
His mom is that women now she has to own it FOREVER
A mom is always a mom, noithing to own up to, she's reason he has survived this long
He had gang ties there. So she didn't want him there. His choice was influence heavily by that.
Nah... We are all adults who know the reputations behind all these schools. Alabama was the smart decision for college football.
Robert R as someone below said… Copeland is involved with gangs and his mom when making the decision had wanted him to choose a school out of state so he could get away from that life. Ultimately he chose Florida which meant he was gonna stay close to his gangs
@@alejandroventura1453 so you idiots are really going off online rumors and then spreading them?
Any updates about this player?
That’s her son, man. Parents are supposed to support their children. She should be so proud of him😭
Gabbie Alot of people dont know he has friends that are gang related in florida thats why he choose them and thats why the mother got up and left.
@@SuddenHaiku What gang
Wow Ms Petty patty , that's embarrassing, she could have conducted herself a bit better in my opinion 🤔
He smart to go to a school he could actually play for. Bama is so loaded with talent, their 3rd stringers can start at any other University.
The guy back there clapping in ladys face...lol
That's so childish of her she should support his choice
Lol
Emmett Mimiasie huh? What the fuck are you talking about

So howd he do at florida ? Was it worth it over alabama/tennessee?
This kid showed more maturity than his mother
T0PSECRET that don’t mean abandon your kid
Wow what a way to ruin your sons big day. Good for him keeping it together to finish that interview.

The reporter was ruthless with those fist two questions
It's sad but funny af at the same time.. mom ain't switching
Do your research before you hate. His mom walked out because he had gang affiliations in Florida and in effect he was choosing his gang over his family and future (Similar actions killed his older brother)
Samuel Liu I searched it. This is fake news.
Berger Merger
Furthermore, all these assumptions that his mom’s reaction was due to financial self-interest demonstrate America’s elitist perception of black single mothers. Unfortunate.
@@samuelliu9941 Yea but what you said isn't true sooo....?
Literally nothing you said is true
Ok I've seen like 5 of these comments and their all getting the same answer You can find gangs anywhere you go there is not a state in america without a gang related killing, so that honestly doesn't matter, 2nd she still walked out on her son flesh and blood b/c of what she thought this is this kids life he gets to make the decision not her no matter how she feels
She'll be back like she never left on draft night...
