  • This is a bit off topic for the channel but I filmed this a few years ago. this is my Federal Signal Model 5. it's currently being restored and I will have it mounted on a proper platform and what not. this was very "redneck" as my husband states, we definitely Jerry rigged this but we wanted to see if it would work.
this Siren used to be owned by Henry Ford btw.
    I'm also acquiring a Thunderbolt and a 2T22. :)

Very cool. Seems like you like old things like me. So now I know who's been sitting the tornado Signs off when there's no tornadoes in Oklahoma around me.😂 😅 I'm in tuttle, Oklahoma

Haha yup! I love all this stuff. I was trying to get the Thunderbolt from Bartlesville but the city manager told me they will be restoring it so that's good to hear

Single phase? These C3-½ frame Model 5/7s are the biggest they made in this variation of the series so it's really cool you have one.

It may be 3 phase and that's why the generator kept tripping.

@@Radiogirl1931 Ah, whenever you get it back the tag on the housing says whether it is or not. Good luck on the restoration!

1948 I think. There are a lot of Model 5 sirens still in use officially. They are very robust and pretty simple honestly.

My husband gave it to me as a gift when we first started dating. It came from his local airport that was getting rid of it. I was talking to him about sirens and he said he had one, I didn't believe him because that's a super niche thing, and next thing I know, there is a semi truck asking to deliver a siren. I bout shit a brick.

That's Amazing! You Definitely found someone special. I imagine that would have just sat in an airplane graveyard or something otherwise.
