What do we owe our families? What do we owe ourselves? What do we do if these are diametrically opposed? Emma Törzs crafts an exciting, immersive story with Ink Blood Sister Scribe, which explores family, legacy, estrangement, and forgiveness within the context of magical books, money, glamour, and-if there aren’t enough fascinating elements-the Antarctic. Though dark in its themes, there is a coziness in the story’s execution that made me relish my time within its pages.

Yo.
This recommendation is most assuredly kismet, as three days ago, whilst perusing somewhat sparse Wal-Mart shelves, my eyes were drawn to the cover of this very novel. Upon drinking in the premise, I knew I needed to read it.
The primary idea is infinitely interesting to me. Also, it being written by a woman who isn't white (not that I don't enjoy work written by white women--I reread the Potter septology, one of my favorite works of literature ever, once a year, & have since the publication of the fourth novel...I've also loved Ursula Le Guin's & Diana Wynne Jones' work for pretty much my entire life), is one hell of a draw, as there aren't many lauded/celebrated black or brown American (or otherwise) authors of the womanly persuasion, nor have, sadly, there ever been. Octavia Butler, Toni Morrison, Lorraine Hansberry, Zora Neal Hurston, Tananarive Due, & N.K Jemison, among many other BRILLIANT black authors of the womanly persuasion, have never been celebrated as widely as they ought to be/have been, which is a damned crying shame, seeing as how undeniably gifted they are/were.
After I've finished my current read (Stephen King's Lisey's Story, one of the few King novels I've never read, which is saying something quite significant, as I've been a Constant Reader since the age of seven, & have greedily consumed his work, with gusto, since then), I'll be diving into this no doubt grand story.
Cheers.

This book sounds very interesting. I love anything with magic, witches and spells. I'll be putting this on my list.
Do you have any book recommendations written by Latinx authors? I haven't read many and I'm always looking to support my Latinx people 🇵🇷

Harry Potter series?
Hi Amerie ❤️
I loved this book. I'm used to books with short chapters, like only a few pages because of my attention span and this has chapters of about ten to fifteen pages but I wizzed through it and would take a break and find myself reaching for the book again ten minutes later. Some woke stuff does creep into it though, like saying boarding schools where about colonialism and assimilation, apologising to a black staff member because....they're black...Yeh weird. Also saying handsome blue eyed men were the least trust worthy ( so meaning white men) made me roll my eyes and a character was in a situation at an airport and because she has brown skin, she was hoping this situation was just commonplace ray cism. And I literally just sighed and said out loud, hunny you ain't white so you don't experience commonplace ray cism. Even with those things I would still recommend it, it's a shame those parts were put it but I didnt let it ruin the book for me.
This one thing in L.A. won’t give up her name for free slim lil blasian joint they thinking she
No lie I need to get back to reading
