Thanks for the shout out. Honest review is the best review. Reading the rounds is so true with this machine. With the "uglies" I'll just make sure not to grab a full blade. It's definitely not your Ultra, for sure. Great job Genin! Congrats
Welcome to the 1165V family. I was the guy that bought the one at Bunyan. You’re gonna love the ease of using this. Definitely want to chip the XL logs from the outside in. Good luck to you!
Can’t believe I missed your video. You made a wise decision and I’m glad you got he knee control. You hit it right on the head, this is an entry level vertical splitter but for most people it do the job. Resplitting is where it excels for sure,. Can’t wait to get your thoughts after you split a few cords. May you and your family have a happy, healthy and safe Christmas and New Year.👍TCT
What a nice fast homeowner vertical splitter, this is what the Super Split is to the horizontal market, very fast. I like it, good purchase ! Thanks for the video
Evening Genin. They seem to be a popular splitter at a great price. A couple of fellas around here have them and they are very happy with their purchase.
Well done on the review. I got mine in July, it’s surpassed my expectations for sure. It really shines when you put an extra person while splitting its non stop and fast. Great job, take care.
Good morning and welcome to the club. I’ve had mine for about a month now fantastic machine. I use it to supplement my Eastonmade 2228. The folks that Split Fire are simply the best to work with I’m thinking you won’t be selling that machine anytime soon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️split fire
Good honest review Genin. Looks like a pretty good vertical machine for the money. Definitely a quick entry level vertical splitter for sure. Pretty impressed honestly. Especially for the price point!
Hey Gennin. That would be a nice little splitter for splitting inside a heated shop in the winter. I believe Up in Smoke has an electric motor on his. Nice splitter. I really would love to have one I could use in my shop. Later bud
Awesome addition to your woodyard!! I know you were excited about getting it! I think for its intended use it will be just fine. Great for someone wanting to get into the vertical platform that wants to store it inside. Its price and mobility are its strong points! If you ever get into bundles you are setup. Congrats Genin!👊🏻
@@hardworkingmanoutdoors they definitely are, where else can you get a splitter with a 3 second cycle time and a log lift for 3k delivered to your door!
@@outdoorsinthe608 I like the electric idea, it would be great if they made a 220v option that was as fast as the gas version. What makes this thing great is 3 second cycle time, give it a 6 second time and I wouldn’t like it near as much.
Great video Genin. Seems like a sweet little splitter. For a 7 1/2 ton, it looks like it does very well. I can see where the small footprint could be beneficial for some folks operations. Ideal resplit machine?
It does well for what it is, I know manufacturers push the “ resplit machine” idea. While that works for big time producers that can justify a dedicated machine for “ resplits” I don’t know how that works for the guy that’s trying to buy one machine and be done. I think they geared this machine for the homeowner that wants a quick machine with a log lift for a good price.
Honestly impressive little machine for the home owner! I was thinking the same thing about having a box store splitter for the nasty stuff. May be one of these in my future!
Any reason you chose not to get the extra right side work table? That circular disk above the wedge is the round peeler. If it doesn't reach, you can place a piece of firewood above the round as a spacer.
@@bwillan I chose not to get the extra table to save money. I can still order it as an add on, but I wanted to keep this thing basic and on a budget. That’s a good point on the rounder peeler.
Hi, great splitter. Couple of my friends bought the 1165v. I haven’t had a chance to try them out yet but I’m looking forward to it. I have only used the single wedge on my ultra, Seems like all I need.
I like these little splitters. I actually talked to the folks at splitfire over the phone about the 1165 this past summer, but didn’t go any further. Great video and I appreciate your honesty. 👊🏻🔥🪵
@@TwinCityFirewood it’s nice because it’s small and easy to handle, but also lacks the big work area and power of the big verticals. For the money though, tough to beat!
@@alltherpm I thought the same thing, but I think metal wear is minimal, I’m sure they used thicker wall tubing for it. Splitfire has been around I’m sure they did there due diligence before bringing it to market.
@@robertzalaker4775 wobbling may be the camera. the unit doesn’t have big outriggers like the eastonmade axis so it’s kind of tippy with its narrow footprint. Log lift is rated for 150. It’ll definitely lift up the max diameter this thing should be splitting.
Looking at you operating it, it feels about as fast as the ultra, with a bit more control on the size and quality of the splits and with the benefit of a better posture while operating it.
