Watched this originally live, blew me away. Now watching in 2024 and this is without a doubt, my favorite. Beacon Jams are a highlight for me and I have been a phan since '93.
@@johnnyt3392 At least he's doing what he loves. That's all that matters. The music still sounds great. Better than anything you or I can do, for sure! Nostalgia is hard to lose, I understand, but I hope you can still at least appreciate him for his new music. Times have changed, and I'm still here for it. Peace and love to you.
Trey - I envy that when you jam out it's exactly what you hear in your head. You aren't just walking up and down scales or chords that you know fit the key. You're just playing what you hear in your head. I have a music degree and at one point I started to notice I could kinda do that on cello. You can do it without difficultly and we know it bcz you will sometimes sing scat in unison with what you're playing. I can see you doing it when you are jamming out and looking at that nowhere spot over the heads of everyone in the crowd. I can see it when you "silently sing" with your guitar moving your lips and mouth like it resonates within you. How cool to take that jam that you're listening to in your head and share it with us via your guitar. That's what it means to be a guitar legend to me
It’s true, and Trey is very good, but sny experienced lead player does that if he’s good at all. I do it. I play what I hear in my head. I play lead guitar and mandolin mostly. I also play lots of bluegrass/newgrass on acoustic and mando. I’m taking nothing away from Troy, but after you’ve played songs umpteen times you can pretty much play it how you want. The cool thing is that different artists hear it in a different way, so the same song can sound very different, even in the same key and tempo. I love hearing any great player dhowing what he’s about.
Dude.......you just opened up an entire rabbit hole to go down spanning three decades. Enjoy yourself. (Check out any down with disease from '95-'97 for my personal favorite.....but there's so much material with a wide variety of sound. Your options are limitless.)
Y’all ever just listen to this song and get taken away to a thought of how amazing the present moment is? Fuck me right up. I love this song a little too much for my own comfort. Big thank you to these dudes.
Dear TAB, Trey and all of the musicians and support people, I am in awe of each band members mastery of time, rhythm, tonality and phrasing. And the message gets through too. Love your dedication to perfection!
@fugugoog leplasto Take back control of America and our freedom. Small hats are running the show. Look who owns the media, politics and the banks for starters.
Tony Markellis- You captivated me since the first time I ever watched you play. You taught me rhythm- but you also showed me how to listen. thank you!! I hope to see you soon!
This could be my anthem for the rest of my life. The lyrics capture perfectly where I am mentally, or at least where I want to be. Don’t live in the past or future. Carpe diem!
Obviously I love this but I still believe the energy from the crowd is key to a great live performance. It's just not the same. WILL THIS MADNESS EVERY END!!!!!!!!
We're in thick of the New World Order, Vaccines may be the end game....As Wilson drives the Lizards closer to permanent destruction. But Treys talent is undeniable, favorite musician/Phish(Favorite band), been listening for over 20 years, used to go to shows but connected too many dots to know that PHISH/DISNEY/UNITED STATES of AMERICA/HOLLYWOOD are evil/Satanic and what they represent is evil but music is pure which is why I still listen. Please read the lyrics to "Devotion to a Dream " and you will see!
very nice, thank you kindly sounded so good haven't heard Ray, Cyro and Tony for a while. I can't wait to feel Ray's pair of leslie's from the the rail. Music heals. This music made me smile for 26 minutes!
I often wonder where he's at when he's in the zone.....by fascial expressions alone I think he's climbing an underwater mountain. Thanks for sharing this w/ the masses
The beacon has never looked better than with you in it! (and facing the back wall for the viewers to see the venue. That's creative). Hope to see you back in CO some day soon.
