Rare Map of Australia showing Abel Tasman's Voyages in 1642 - 1644

Today we will be learning about Emmanuel Bowen's stunning map of Australia published in 1744. This map shows Australia according to the discoveries of Abel Tasman as well as other Dutch voyages. As this map was published in 1744, it pre-dates Captain Cook's discoveries of the eastern coast in 1769, and thus, Australia is depicted without it.
