    My son used to self harm. I took him to a TOP concert and when I heard this song at the concert, I truly understood him a little better. It helped me hear what he had been saying along with someone who was fearful for him. He was the one saying the verses, and the parent was the one singing the chorus. Self harm and suicide are so hard to understand and what to do with our kids who are feeling this way... He's better now. Not perfect.

      My friend passed death by suicide almost two years ago. Her mind would tell her 24/7 how unloved and horrible she was. Everything she's ever done wrong it threw it in her face 24/7. Every minute it would put her down. She started hearing voices. She would hear her grown kids, her fiancee and me say things that we never said. It was her minds way of getting her away from help and the people who loved her. The family didn't realize how bad it was to have her get help. She was the happiest person on the outside. At the end she thought we were all enemies. She fought it for years. Once you hear voices you really need help. When they say they don't fit in get them help right away. I couldn't force her and her family didn't believe her head could do all that. They thought she was being a 🅱️... They can't fight this battle alone. It might help if you talk to someone to understand what's going on or google symptoms of what's happening so you can understand more about it. Knowledge is everything. It's a scary road I'm not going to lie. I'm on Instagram as Donna_stay_alive in always here to talk. It helps.

      @@itsazoeything5310 Wow, Donna, I am so sorry. That sounds like a horrible thing for all of you to have gone through. The mind can be a horrible thing- to be able to convince a person that what is not real, is real, and vice versa. I'm sure at some point she may not have been sure what was real but eventually only believed what she thought was true. And it is so sad that your own brain can trick you into thinking that death is the only, or best, answer. I have been low, never that low. I have been to the point where anything I could think of doing, whether it was going to the store, going to work, getting my younger son ready for school, or even showering, as soon as I would think it, it felt like my brain was supplying- I just can't- every time. That was hard to get through. But to have it tell your friend progressively dark thoughts, that's so unfair. As Tyler wrote in "Migraine", sometimes to stay alive, you gotta kill your mind. I'm sorry your friend did not make it through her darkness. I hope you and her family have been able to heal. It is so sad to hear, as well as know that this type of story is not uncommon and some people don't know how to get help or do not have help available to them, for whatever reason. Some don't even know they need help because it all seems so real. I hope you have peace now. Your friend is not tortured by her personal demons now. That doesn't really help that much, because she is still not here. But I hope it helps a little. I'm so sorry.

    The song is really upbeat, but the lyrics are about suicide. Also he can't sleep because of suicidal fans. "Frontman Tyler Joseph has stated the following regarding this track:
    I know you have the ability to hurt yourself, I recognize that, but let’s take that energy and let’s point it at something else, let’s divert that, let’s kind of shift momentum and look at something like art, or something like this music specifically or even point it at me, just point it anywhere. But don’t point it at yourself … that song will always be important to me." "

    Great song, loved the review. “Migraine “ is a wonderful song (official video). You could review “Heavy Dirty Soul” followed by the Trilogy. After delving into a few more songs, you could watch TOP with Mutemath in studio reinterpreting-amazing stuff

    The next group of songs should definitely be Heavydirtysoul then the trilogy from Trench: Jumpsuit, Nico and the Niners, and Levitate.

    I like the way you read an interpretation after the song ends. Great! I like it! And so far those readings have been spot on. (And if not in the future... then we're here to clarify anything)

    • @infin8reactions
      @infin8reactions  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks man and glad you enjoy them, I added that interpretation thing recently so that we could all find out what the songs message was 😁

      I like that he/ you give an initial reaction and after that, look it up. Some reactors have everything looked up beforehand and it is a lot less fun to watch. It is more genuine and real. Like when we all first heard/ watched the songs and videos, we did not always know what they were about. The dawning realization is much more worth watching.

    I know lots of people are recommending the Trench Trilogy, and don't get me wrong they are great songs, but I think a lot of the meanings and metaphors would be lost to newer fans such as yourself. I say stick with the back catalog, like you are doing. The more you listen and see the older stuff off Vessel (like this one) and Blurryface (which is a loose concept album about a character named Blurryface), the more you will come to see how everything they do is interconnected and woven together. So before you dive into their latest album songs (Trench), I say keep doing what you're doing with some of the older stuff. Again their newer stuff is amazing just on it's own, but the more you know, the more you will be able to pick up on in their most recent stuff. I'm enjoying your discovery of this amazing duo.

    For me, this song speaks directly to Tyler's poetry in What's Your Story? ua-cam.com/video/SdC7iBpD8Sk/v-deo.html
    How cruel people can be to each other and how we really all have a choice whether or not to participate in that type of cruelty. Fast forward now to cancel culture... how apropos. Above link definitely worth checking out if you haven't already.

    I misinterpreted this song the first time I heard it as well. I thought it was talking about gun violence in the US generally and specifically those mass-shooter high school kids. But the lyrics never really made sense to me in that context.

    • @infin8reactions
      @infin8reactions  4 роки тому +1

      I suppose when it's personal to the songwriter then all we can do as listeners is to form our own interpretation 🙂

    Your interpretation was exactly mine also, first time hearing it. What you say during the video is exactly what I said. Listening to it again back then I realised they were talking about self harm and suicide. But since I started to understand a tinsy bit of Tylers brain, our original interpretation was correct aswell. 🤗

      @@infin8reactions
      I recommend going from their newer "softer" stuff to their older heavier stuff. I recommend the following songs (in this order):
      - Another Life
      - Eternally Yours (this song is connected with Another Life because both songs are written about the same woman that appears in the Eternally Yours music video)
      - Voices
      - Disguise
      - Undead Ahead 2 (the Official Live Video, this is the best song for Halloween)
      - 570
      - America
      - Devil's Night
      - Immaculate Misconception
      They have many more great songs, but these are the essential songs to get into the band and understand their type of music, as well as to understand how they have changed over the years. They went from being a heavy metalcore band to industrial metal (though they still do metalcore songs as well).
