The man was a real igbo man, I was very young when his songs came on in onitsha and we ignored him, because we were taught that church was everything and our tradition was the devil. I’m a Christian and I love Jesus, but bro, this is my culture and it has nothing to do with the devil. The man was a great man, a real elder statesman, his voice and sings addressed society and its madnesses, he advised one and all, he was RIGHTEOUS !!!.
For real bro, you're not alone. I was very young when he was doing his thing and I guess it takes maturity to understand and appreciate him as a true Igbo custodian. I wish he's still alive, would have paid him a visit to get some knowledge and probably made it a habit visiting him on a regular. Continue to rest high chief Pericoma Okoye.
You beat me to this. My late uncle would play Pericomo’s music all day. I didn’t feel the vibes then as I was only a clueless child, I misunderstood him as I was taught that he was occultic and evil..listening to this now, I can only say…What a man, you don’t know what you have until you lose it. Pericomo Okoye is a legend. He is a Titan. What a man. Pls listen to his words and lyrics…the man was filled with wisdom. What a voice, what a talent. Heaven blessed this man. I was thinking of paying him a visit, sadly he is gone…I learnt his first son is doing great upholding this great tradition. I’ll definitely pay this family a visit. Arondiuzogu and the whole of Igbo land should be proud of this man.
Egwu, Igbo kwenu!, am loving this I can't stop dancing.@Julian Ugo thanks for uploading this music it made me to feel at home, Please can you try and upload "Uto nti 88" keep on ur good work.
