yeah this is true, and it’s not a problem but a good thing for students as you are compared to your batchmates and not graded on the basis of absolute marks eg- even if you get 40/100 marks and you are in top 20% you will get the highest grade
What you heard is partially true as there are many prof. who do absolute grading that's why it's relatively tough to get good CGPA in Dhanbad compared to other IITs
