I would be all too happy to walk into my local reptile store and find these enclosures for tarantulas! such a great design. my boyfriend has one that is always trying to push it's way out. it's so freaky to watch the determination! it actually escaped yesterday when he forgot to put one of the zip ties back on, but was found safely. anyways, excellent idea! really enjoy your content!
Sorry to be so offtopic but does any of you know of a way to get back into an instagram account? I was stupid forgot my password. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
Gonna be honest, I started watching your videos from a random click on your "Feeding the Devil" video and I have loved all the content since. You're a genuine person with a true passion to this exotic hobby that really is contagious. I grew up terrified of spiders and as you've mentioned before, these videos have not only helped with my arachnophobia but I'm now excited to slowly get into this hobby as well. Thank you!
Love your videos! I think what sets them apart from all other tarantula UA-camrs that I watch is that yours are always very high quality. You always have great lighting, great quality, great sound, and great shots! Keep up the good work man!
Your acrylic enclosure is genius! I become inspired to own more tarantulas just to come up with like minded ideas. And please do go into detail about what you find wrong with your creations, it could help the viewers from making similar mistakes, and overall compare our creativity. You Rock!!
Boy, that sure is scary looking! You make me laugh, your my favorite spider man . The more I watch you the less scared of spiders I am. Thank you for your videos.
You should do dark den t shirts and hoodies I would buy one and I’m sure most of the dark den community would keep up the good work. your knowledge of invertebrates is impressive. I have learned a lot from you thanks bro Reece Chappell London
I know I'm late to this video- but that acrylic enclosure is such a wonderful 'rough' attempt - if I could make something half that good, I'd be showing it to everyone and their mum! I love the locking idea - would it be an idea to maybe attach the small ''lock' piece to string or even chain that goes between the small piece and the enclosure, so when it is not in use it just hangs from the side of the cage? You could definitely sell them if you ever needed money!x
Dasma Cavite Philippines.. well I'm a Filipino from Philippines.. Also a Tarantula Keeper... Good to hear that you shout out a Filipino group of Tarantula keepers.. Salute bro
the device seems to be working really well lol also the locking mechanism is really good I'm waiting for a future update on the style you're working on! WOOOO nice video as always!
I wish people would learn, that a c in front of e, i, y, are pronounced as S. And c in front of a, o, u, are pronounced as K, in Latin. So, therefore Poecilotheria is not Pokloteria. It's Poesilotheria. And it's not Pokies. It's Posies. Please spred the word. Best wishes from. Bo.
Hello dark den I've not had a tarantula for around 15 years your videos have inspired me to get a sling maybe two I'll update you when i get them i do like your tube weaver the segestria florentina i have several common spider species myself if i may suggest a very tarantula type (as far as behavior) common species I believe you would enjoy keeping the black lace weaver amaurobius ferox their web is awesome looking
I'm not a tarantula keeper nor a knowledgeable person in this field. But, the skeletal-like coloration of the Poecilotheria looks really cool~ Always a thumbs up for your vid
Glad to see the Segestra florentina! It is big! Love your enclosure design. I have seen someone crowdfunding an acrylic vivarium that is completely interlocking similar to the locks on your door. It uses no glue. If I find the link I'll post.
Hey for a first attempt at an acrylic enclosure pretty good! So you managed to source the acrylic and glue in the end....mine should be all setup and finished soonish (well am after some plants n rethinking decorations..one looks great). Well waiting on the T's to moult as well! Am finding out about doing in bulk next week to see if it's worthwhile doing. Nice Poecilotheria! Am not too keen on the species so far because mine is so reclusive. Maybe it will change! (same goes for my Tigrinawesseli...skittish as hell).
I have also a couple of numbers of tarantulas which i bouaght from a friend. And i can only place them to an aquarium. I wish i have a talent and time making nice housing for them. I enjoy watching your videos!
i have lots of these guys in my garden, they're pretty big, I think the biggest spider in Europe. They're aggressive too. they don't shy away and make threatening moves. They make wonderful tunnel webs and I read they last 2-3 years
Such a great guy to listen to videos are really easy and extremely interesting to watch! Not going to lie i have been terrified of spiders my whole life up until i was about 18. I then realised that there is no point in being afraid of something that realistically is a lot more scared of me than i am of it. Now I'm 20 and am becoming more and more fascinated everyday with spiders. I would love a tarantula they are such amazing and interesting creatures to watch. Just need to do a hella lot more research as i am a begginer in this line of hobby 😎 either way your videos have opened my eyes to an entire different world of hobbies! Thanks man!!
Very well done on the enclosure for first time, I have seen those types of latches on snake enclosures work with good success. I'll take one! Very smooth transfer too
looking forward to more exploration videos I have a 16-year-old autistic son that is always eager to see your channel would be great if you could give him a shout out in your next video would make his year "MIKEY H from LEEDS UK" many thanks in advance if you can and keep up the great videos :)
I have suggestion for how you can easily and more practically (you can easily loose the glassish transparenut looking hooks) close the door of your new design enclosure. Simply use a larger rubber band
You are undeniably fascinating! I respect how much you respect these animals. New subscriber (w/ notification bell smashed)! Thank you for endless entertainment 🕷🦂🐜
I would have done something different with the eggs! Leave them on moist paper towel was a bad idea! Next time try to create a fake incubator, there are a bunch of tutorials for tarantula incubators on youtube, or in some of the forums! Too bad none of them survived tho :/
What kind of plastic was that container when you first unwrapped the sling at the beginning of the video. You said it can’t climb the plastic. I’m curious
Woohoo, happy haircut 😂love your Hanumavilasumica, it's a bit bigger than mine but they are a gorgeous looking T, congratulations on the acrylic arboreal enclosure, looks good and with a bit more engineering and refinement you'll get it nailed, enjoyed the vid, as always, see you Monday sir 🤘🏻
Petco I dont know what else to watch before I sleep and off curse you are the best and I watch you all the time I enjoy and greetings from cyprus !!!!!!!
Your beautiful POECILOTHERIA is most likely a female... (does not appear to have the dark half-moon shaped pattern called the epiandrous fusillae, between the top book lungs - and the lungs have a wider gap). Hopefully, sometime soon, you will get to have an Australian species of tarantula - Phlogius, Coremiocnemis, Selenotypus or Selenotholus spp. Love your new arboreal enclosure! ... and Keep up the great work!! G'day mate from Australia! ‹(·¿·)›
I have a HUUUUUGE fearof spiders, particularly big hairy ones. For some strange reason, I find myself watching all of your videos, and I dont freak out any more when I see your T's on camera! You have a lovely way of engaging the audience, and I find it extremely interesting, so I just had to keep watching, and thinkI have watched all of your uploads now! At the beginning, I would do my usual, and hide my face when the spider was on screen, break out in red blotches and my heart would race. Now I dont experience any of that when watching your vids, and have found myself feeling that some of your T's are quite cute! I never EVER thought I could watch a T vid without freaking out. Thank you
They really do! I only stumbled upon your Molting video by chance, and since then I have been hooked on your channel! I love your communication, your personality and how you educate me on T's. You show the spider in a true and honest way, which has calmed me a lot over the course of me watching you. People pay hundreds to get over fears like this, and yet you have made the first step for me in the fact I dont react in a terrified way. I also am a crafter/Hobbyist, so love seeing you make the enclosures too. I think your very clever. Thank you so much, honestly, for helping me combat this huge fear, just by being you. I bet you never thought your videos would help arachnophobia sufferers? lol
Have more confidence in yourself. You are a natural in front of the camera. I also like how you put your mistakes in. Shows you are human and not putting on a show. I think people are drawn to how 'real' and 'honest' you are, along with a good sense of humour and the knowledge you pass on xx
another great video, really like that True spider I've got one as well that does the same with the funnel and it's in a critter keeper and it's reminds me of a obt nothing but Webs EVERYWHERE! I have to join the pokie club they are amazing looking T's P.S and feeding video or Q&A videos coming soon?
Might not be able to climb to plastic, but if it starts to web on the plastic and dirt starts to collect on the sides it definitely will be able to climb the plastic. I've had wolf spiders and white tailed spiders who've climbed up to the lid even though they can't actually climb plastic
Just found this channel after looking at tarantula stuff because I am thinking about getting one myself but I wanted to look into it a little bit but I like the quality and personality of your videos so ya gained a sub. Hope I can get a spider for myself some day.
Greetings from Scotland. I enjoy watching all of your vids and hope to own my very first terrestrial or trap door T one day in the future as I intend to start an ant colony. Once that is established after 1 or 2 years I might know which T suits me best after lots of research and learning the scientific name for the one I want. Keep up the great work on these vids, you don't get enough credit for the work, detail and effort you put in your vids. Every time I watch your vids it makes me want to buy a T and defo cheers me up after a stressful day at work.
Hi Petko, can I ask where you buy the glass enclosures that have a tiltable door and can be opened on the top? And would you really recommend a Chromatopelma as a good first T? I'm planning to get one but am a little worried because it's faster than the usual beginner Ts.
hey how are your H. Pulchripes slings???? It's been a long time since you did an update on your older spiders! you have so many new ones. can you show all your Ts
2:54 oh lol, those look a bit like the spiders I found when dismantling the backyard shed from a friend.. those types were there buta lso some who had a thicker grey abdomen and shorter legs and some brown
i am 99.9% positive you have a female. The sling most likely past away due to the way you housed it. Slings need to be up off the moisture, not in it to absorb humidity. they will drowned in water or wet papper towels easily.
nice enclosure, maybe make the locking tabs one piece so they won't be so small. I love your videos by the way, they are very entertaining and informative. thanks for sharing your collection :)
Just watch the video because I'm a new member of DTK. On the shout-out. It's cool because been watch dark den videos before joining DTK. Haha. Just sharing. Happy Keeping guys. Love from Philippines.
your videos are great but I'm not familiar with the scientific names of the tarantulas. could you sometimes say there more common names so that I have a better idea of what species your talking about. keep up the great job!!!!
You're such a criminally underated youtuber. Great video!
Report it to the authorities :P
Do you have a wandering spider?
berserker3247 He's my favorite.
Winston Churchill I don't think soo. Way to dangerous plus they are extremely fast
Ethan Haessig pussy😂😂😂
I would be all too happy to walk into my local reptile store and find these enclosures for tarantulas! such a great design. my boyfriend has one that is always trying to push it's way out. it's so freaky to watch the determination! it actually escaped yesterday when he forgot to put one of the zip ties back on, but was found safely. anyways, excellent idea! really enjoy your content!
Neat pokie! Now I'm thinking if I should keep mine .. decisions decisions 😐

Love your videos! I think what sets them apart from all other tarantula UA-camrs that I watch is that yours are always very high quality. You always have great lighting, great quality, great sound, and great shots! Keep up the good work man!
Hahaha i liked that you said sorry when you bumped the enclosure 😂
I think he was saying sorry to the tarantula in the enclosure then the enclosure itself
Your acrylic enclosure is genius! I become inspired to own more tarantulas just to come up with like minded ideas. And please do go into detail about what you find wrong with your creations, it could help the viewers from making similar mistakes, and overall compare our creativity. You Rock!!

no dislikes just shows how good ur vids are
There is usually one or two, just give it some time :P
The Dark Den Great vid! I'm convinced those dislikes are misclicks from scrolling on a phone. Easily done.
you got a new hair cut bro! nice hair cut!
Yes, haircut looks good!
I agree

It sounds like something that would leak if you water the substrate...not really practical design :D
Ha! You're right. Now I have to find the link to see how they address that issue. It never crossed my mind. :D
I crack up every time you say sorry to inanimate objects. lmao
Hey for a first attempt at an acrylic enclosure pretty good! So you managed to source the acrylic and glue in the end....mine should be all setup and finished soonish (well am after some plants n rethinking decorations..one looks great). Well waiting on the T's to moult as well!

thats nice
Turn the hooks upside down and keep them a little loose so they hook themselvs too the door when closing👍
nice acryllic enclosure you've built. What thickness was the acryllic. Great video as usual.
Thanks, it's 4 mm
Svaka cast za video kao i za hobby! Samo napred! :D
I really like the idea of leaning that incloser forward, that seems really cool.

Petco I dont know what else to watch before I sleep and off curse you are the best and I watch you all the time I enjoy and greetings from cyprus !!!!!!!
love your videos man, keep up the great work!
We have these in the U.K. They are Tube Web spiders. People handle them, they live in walls and and holes. They aren’t venomous in the UK.

P.S and feeding video or Q&A videos coming soon?
Feeding yes, not sure about the Q&A
NICE!
Would like to ask you, how did you manage to cut such tiny parts of acrylic?
I have problems with straight lines and here almost jewelry work)
I got it lasercut
Might not be able to climb to plastic, but if it starts to web on the plastic and dirt starts to collect on the sides it definitely will be able to climb the plastic. I've had wolf spiders and white tailed spiders who've climbed up to the lid even though they can't actually climb plastic
Ye, but I meant when you are working with it like this ^^
You've made me want to get a tarantula! They're amazing creatures!
For your next acrylic enclosure you could have the door open up or down and have the latches parallel to each other and put a bar across.
I feel like side ways are more practical so I'll work on that design :D
I dont know why but there is just something about small spiders that creep me out
hard to memorize the names of those spider...
Just found this channel after looking at tarantula stuff because I am thinking about getting one myself but I wanted to look into it a little bit but I like the quality and personality of your videos so ya gained a sub. Hope I can get a spider for myself some day.

i am 99.9% positive you have a female. The sling most likely past away due to the way you housed it. Slings need to be up off the moisture, not in it to absorb humidity. they will drowned in water or wet papper towels easily.
I've caught a true spider four weeks and i kept her ever since and she made a eggsack today so Yeah i hope they survive. Nice video
I see a Dark Den video - I like.
nice enclosure, maybe make the locking tabs one piece so they won't be so small.
1:26 you kill me 😂😂 nice video btw
Do you worry about the mites/ 'the tail ones' getting out of the enclosures and in you living spaces?
Love your videos bro hope there is more awesome content coming
I expected the transfer spider to jump out while you made the shot from above leaving the door open. Went too smooth, disappointed. :D
Such a pretty species of tarantulas.
If I’m not mistaken it’s a tube webspider also found in Uk
Lol! 😂..."You know what we say??? Don't be bolty"..."
okay one of them was defo Atypus affinis those big big chelicera.. like they are huge
I totally did not just jump off my parents car to run at home to watch this video ... 😍 was so excited to see it !
u can glue a string to the hooks to the door so it wud be easier for u to lock it up n without putting them down n misplacing them
You should get a gigant bird eating spider
You mean Goliath bird eater?
Beautiful spider featured. let us know how your local species settled in
Forgot how beautiful this pokie species is!
thanks for shout out master darkden .... .. more video and more more TS : ) bless!
DTK dasmarinas tarantula keeper
Maybe you can make a bigger lock with the 2 little pieces connected together with a thin, but long piece of acrylic? Hope you get what i mean ;)
your videos are great but I'm not familiar with the scientific names of the tarantulas. could you sometimes say there more common names so that I have a better idea of what species your talking about. keep up the great job!!!!
where do you get your acrylic? everywhere I look is so expensive!
beautiful! really remarkable
Just out of curiosity do you have any interests in snakes? If not why?
You probably shouldn't take the molts out cause naturally some spiders eat their molt
