- The Supreme Court on Monday ruled that former President Donald Trump is entitled to some level of immunity from federal prosecution for official actions he took while in office, a landmark decision in the height of an election season that could further delay the start of his criminal trial in Washington, D.C.

No authority figures should have absolute immunity for their actions in a democratic society. This ruling is a hedge towards a lawless society starting from the very top. It also gives these same powers to Biden. So is Biden gonna call Seal Team Six and have Trump taken out? With this ruling, it would be perfectly okay. Presidents now have absolute immunity as long as they act officially as President. SCOTUS just opened Pandora's Box out of sheer and unbridled political expediency.

He won’t and republicans know this. This case wasn’t deciding whether presidents have absolute immunity, it was deciding whether a Republican president has absolute immunity, because a Democratic president would never need or want absolute immunity.

If January 6 is not enough of an incident to be investigated, then what is? Could a POTUS use that to justify public executions of those who let him down? Would it be legal for him to just put his hand on his secretary's backside and give it a squeeze against her will?
The court says maybe, if it prevents a deadlock on every presidential decision. It's all about convenience and avoiding red tape. No matter the level of atrocities, just everyone pretend they never happened.
