The alternate reality TV programming, excluding the plot-related, non-random stuff, was all improvised in the recording booth by Justin Roiland (voice of both Rick and Morty). He was also drinking the whole time and got steadily drunker the more he recorded, which is why some of the later stuff had even more chaotic energy than the earlier stuff.
"Nobody exists on purpose, nobody belongs anywhere, everybody's going to die.... come watch TV?" We just took existential horror and turned it into a declaration of love. You should feel something, that's incredible writing.

The interdimensional cable bits are basically what you get when you lock a drunk(er than usual) Justin Roiland (creator of the show with Dan Harmon, and voice of Rick, Morty, and many of the non-recurring characters) in a room with a mic and give the resulting recordings to the animators and tell them to do something with them.

To explain, it’s in the other dimension, and after Jerry confessed everything to the successful Beth (how he hated being famous and how he wishes they never got an abortion) Rick (from the other dimension) killed him. And Rick’s like “Hey sweetie, I saw this creep on the news, I brought you some bird seeds.” Ngl, kinda glad that they changed it lol

Of course nobody really knows. But there is some real science backing the multi verse/dimensions. It's one of the leading theories right now. However, I don't think a lot of physicists are completely comfortable with the idea. But it is what the math predicts.
It's not necessarily that Jerry and Beth were meant to be together. The point is the grass is always greener on the other side of the road. Everyone has regrets, and spying on yourself in another timeline is a way to live vicariously through another you who might not share the same regrets. The point is to own your experiences, because they're what make you you, in so far as "you" are an actual thing that exists.

Well there are infinite realities where Summer never existed yet there are infinite realities that she does so "not many of them have summer" translates into she just happens either to not be in that reality or simply isn't around during those moments where she might make an appearance.

The episodes are largely self-contained and they sometimes fix things they broke offscreen between episodes, but continuity is still kept. I wish more stories or plot crossed episodes, but I really appreciate that continuity is kept either way.
Well, the whole point with the goggles bit, I think it was moreso trying to say that no one is perfect, and there's never a right answer to the choices we make. Many people imagine having a better life, or made better choices, in some alternate universe, and this episode flips it to also say that even our alternate universe selves are thinking the exact same thing. For most of the episode, Beth and Jerry shown they were unhappy with their lives. But watching their alternate selves, with lives they wish they had, their alternate selves thought the same thing too, in the end. So, even if at times you wish you did some things differently, and if you may feel inadequate at times as well, it helps to admit that no one is perfect, and you don't need to be perfect either. Life is messy, and sometimes chaotic, and the most that you can do is just do the best you can with what you have, and make the most of it.
People thought Our Sun was the only One until they realised otherwise, they thought Our Solar system was one of a kind till they discovered there are many others like it which make up our Galaxy which was also thought one of a kind until they discovered million s of galaxies . Now our universe is expanding and it Is thought to be one of a kind . You do see where this is going?
The Multiverse theory is popular within real physicists that study quantum mechanics...the other interpretation is called the Copenhagen Interpretation... if you are interested in real life multiple universes; you should check this out!
