What could have been an interesting discussion descended into a brief slanging match. No, this isn't about "intolerance". We know that thousands are coming over and the 1951 accord is the reason. Also, when a nation is freed from tyranny (Nazis, Soviets, Idi Amin - to give a few examples) we've NEVER expected them to return once it is safe to do so. This is why so many have chosen the UK. Because they know they will get permanent settlement. This is what SHOULD have been discussed, had James not made his crass remark about "how many MPs do you have?". It is a very serious issue, and closing down dissent will not make it go away!

Politicians should not accept gifts and tax paying citizens are entitled to pension and discounts over non taxpayers and especially new arrivals. In aus they get social housing on day of arrival, health etc everything free and most drive brand new cars so one presumes cars are free on arrival. Issue is waiting lists never go down for taxpaying citizens
