How do you explain native Arabs speaking fluent fusha but if you ask them about grammar they will say they don't know. Even with English, ask an average native English speaker and they will tell you they don't know grammar
you make a good point. However, a native Arab or English is not similar to the non-native in learning. Also, it is very difficult to find a native not making grammatical errors particularly native Arabs when speaking.
Beyond that, reading without grammar is merely impossible in Arabic when the words do not contain diacritics (Harakāt).
Don't forget though, we are not advocating for being grammar focused, striking a balance is the main aim so a student can be well rounded.
