After watching you critique Texas, I can't wait to hear what you have to say about California. Texas is cheap compared to the prices in CA. Plus homelessness is a real problem here

Congrats on covering about 1/4 of Texas! But you did cover a lot of it that most of these videos leave out, so sriously, good job. You should call this "Part 1" and continue with at least a "Part 2".

Texas is even more versatile than this video let’s on to. We have the deep pine woods of east Texas, oil wells of Permian Basin in West Texas, vineyards in the panhandle, cattle country in panhandle and other locations in Texas. Pecos, Texas is home to the first rodeo to happen. Tasting rooms of all kinds of wines in Central Texas. Beer brewers near Austin and in the hill country. We have all kinds of cuisine with much Mexican influences throughout the state. Personally I think the best of Mexican food in Texas is in and around El Paso.
Be ready for long drives. It’s close to 900 miles from one end to the other in Texas. But know most of us Texans are usually friendly folks. Welcome to Texas, Y’all!!

"The sun is riz, and the sun is set, and here we is in Texas yet!" - Old postcard from the 1950s. It had a cartoon picture of a couple driving from El Paso to Texarcana. 😆

World Travel Guide, though it's on the screen for a second or 2, it would have been a good viewer service to have explained how "Gruene" came to be pronounced "Green". I'll do it in your place. It's because there used to be a good-sized group of German-speaking Texans living in this region of the state, until the German language fell into disfavor as a result of Hitler, and thus faded quite a bit. "Gruene" is the German spelling of the color.
Yes, I did enjoy your "slightly sarcastic" overview of the state, and I couldn't find anything to tempt me to join the "everyone" crowd which hates Texas.

Thank you for sharing the additional information about Gruene, which is very interesting. And by the way, the video title is also sarcastic :)

@@W.T.G, hello again. I just found this during a visit to Wikipedia: Gruene is nowadays part of .New Braunfels = BRAWN-fulls (located in the German-settled area near San Antonio, and named after a German city--BROWN-felce).
San Antonio, which had tons of Mexicans, also had a lot of Texas Germans at the time (1840s), one of which was an Ernst Gruene, for whom the town is named.

  • @jeraldkimball494

Why would you say everyone hates Texas. That is a lie right off the bat. I hate when these sights say such things. Texas is my home and I love it here. There are things that are negative about it but anywhere there things about each state you could find not so good. It is terrible that someone could speak so negatively about places. Don't get me wrong I did like most your documentary as it was pretty informative. Just the message used to draw people into looking at this was a very negative statement.
