Ive been loving this map since it came out. No storm fortnite circle is the BEST part. You actually get to play the game and fight how you want to fight. Instead of fights being determined by the storm and rooms full of uncleared mobs
What you did wrong vs the warlock is missing all your fireballs and engaging him at close range. On top of that he specifically had his anti magic shield and most likely his anti magic passive skill. Also, you didn't take 2 cast of his curse but 4. You missed all of your spells and he hit you 4 times. Also, you can fireball phantomize and they'll take damage from it. If you stay further than 7m away from him he literally can't do anything. Warlock is a meme.
He hit you with 4 curses of pain, which was 1 more than the "3 zaps" that you referenced. COP also has precision aiming unlike Zap and is one of only 2 offensive spells he can really use (technically 3 if you count meme beam which is a terrible spell), and frankly dark bolt is kind of shit all around. He suffers from a range difference where he dies to bows and crossbows that can hit him outside of his COP range. Only takes like 3-4 arrows/bolts to put a caster build down. He could heal, but that's only if he has something to hit. If he wants to heal off of hydra he'll need a ton of magical healing, which still leaves it inefficient, or need to run life drain which has its own risks. Your encounter was just unlucky since he was designed to counter magic casters and your other teammate was just a squishy rogue. Either needed a tanky meatball to run him down or an actual ranged weapon to kill him.
@@TheFlipperFins IIRC Zap can roughly be aimed in the general vicinity of a players hitbox and land. For Curse to hit you have to actually aim directly at body parts.

At 7:58 with spud fighting the warlock. He got hit 4 times with the curse of pain. It was also allowed to tick for most of the duration for two of the casts. Pretty sure it hits for ~20-25+ticks dmg in ok gear so if that guy was at least in good gear it makes sense that 4 hits on a wizard would kill him. I think getting zapped by wizard 4 times should kill you as well (spud literally says this) if especially if the wizard was geared. The warlock didn't even have the healing perk. Much love spud. ♥
Pleasure as always, great video! Also agree with ice caves, it's my favorite map as well. I personally love the removal of the circle. I hope that comes to the other maps as well.
8:38 yes im a warlock main but still, he hits you 4 times in a row, its not just 1 or two spells. You are just eating them spells. Just pointing that out. Curst of Pain is a VERY low dmg spell that gets amped up through stacking a lot to true/add dmg, but its still meager in dmg to any wiz spell imo. And before ppl come for me, i should add, sick vid spuddy i love the uploads lol!
honestly, when they released GC in the PT, my exact thought was that this map is destined to be the tutorial. Its the classic vibe of tutorial, kill some gobbos go kill the big bad troll boss and loot and scoot. When they started expanding it and focusing in GC's i was kinda confused cause i didn't think its worth it, since they made the ice caves which are brilliant, rather move on and just make GC the tutorial for white gear max.
The Warlock- It takes 3 curses to kill you. You played it staggered and it was 2, 1v1 fights for the warlock. And you missed spells also an inopportune time to use fireball.
I love spuddy as a content creator but never understood why he thought wizard wasnt good. You just get a blue crystal sword to kill mobs like everyone else. and have a camp fire after a fight long fight with players. They have always been top tier

Well ill tell you what you did wrong in the warlock vs wizard fight. Firstly jumping hydra is a risky process. A well positioned warlock is able to get free hits and kill people who disrespect hydra. If you want to jump hydra. You must jump it at end or very start of its creation/despawn. That way your able to catch him recasting this which will give you a head start, if he is holding other casts while you jump you lose advantage/hp to jump it. Then for the 1v1. Now its clear he is a juiced lock i wish you had shown all his gear, but he has the talent + the spell to give him a chance to fight wizards. (Eldritch shield) 25MAGIC absorb shield + he will have 25% MR from a perk, and likely another 10% from will. Because of these factors, its actually a hard but fairly balanced matchup as normally without those talents/spells wizard counter warlocks pretty hard. But the counter is zap and nothing else. If you land zaps while he is trying to curse you will out tempo him. If you look at the fight, you tanked 4 Curses, which seemed to do around 20 damage per curse, the rest of the damage was the ticking damage. He had time to land 4 curses on you, and 2 on your friend. This is 6 casts. You was trying to fireball/MM which are both horrible options here, and even worse against good players with good Move speed. You had time to land 4 zaps, and 4 zaps will kill him. It can be 3 zaps without his resist talents/build. And its also a chance its 5 zaps based on his magical healing/vigor stats. If he is running +all attribute and out geared you hard, its likely you need 5 zaps. But if your equal geared its -1 zap or -2 to kill ofc. In this fight it was a 1v1, followed by another 1v1, in a well favoured situation to him. A solo geared barb on the corner could have done the same thing killing you both one by one. Its clear he has ok/semi geared because base warlock dex is 15, and resource stat is 12 for naked warlock. So here we can see he has +4 Attributes, likely legs/neck. he has +20 kn + 15hp + 15agi extra in other words, his kit is worth 6-10kgold, depending on +healing + all being very juiced right now
7:05 as a PDR fighter i don't fear anything, but that thing... it scares me only way to kill a warlock is with a bow or sneaking up on one when its looting its latest victim only way to outrun a warlock is to run into another enemy and pray the warlock switches targets

7:50 well, if you genuinely want someone to point out what you did wrong… yes, I 100% agree warlock is insanely strong currently, but you made 2 major mistakes in that fight that immediately sewed your fate. First, the rogue pushed up before the wizard, bad decision. Two, your rogue pushed up super agro while you were still fighting the hydra in the other room, effectively making it a 1v1.

IN MY OPINION Spell overload is a massive quality of life buff for wizards. Wizard is infinitely more fun to play while using it. Your complaints about caster warlock are somewhat warranted, but to be fair both wizard and bard are on a somewhat equal tier of strength. That one clip of the warlock 2v1 you kinda just got diffed. I agree the 3x3 gob caves was a 5 man bloodbath where the best player with the most gear usually was able to terrorize the other 4 players. It was a bit fun to be the one player though. They reverted back to 5x5 anyways. Buff ball isn't too oppressive in 3v3's. It's a battle of the full-senders vs the full-sendees. Plus wizards running at you chain-lightninging 6 damn times. The PvE learning curve is pretty steep, but clearing mobs gets significantly easier with gear. Plus the PvE is a constant of the game, it's not like some other game genres where over time the game gets harder as more content is added, thus deterring newer players. The PvE is just a mechanic that has to be learned and experienced, something to struggle and overcome as you learn to play the game. We all want DaD to succeed and thrive. To deliver us, the players, the best experience possible. There's still a fair bit of path left on that journey, but I believe in the devs and the community. Overall great video Spud, your videos always entertain.
Gotta agree with you on making a goblin caves pve only mode. When I first started I desperately wanted this. I also feel goblins would be a good one for it since they are arguably some of the most punishing npcs

Some kind of tutorial is a really good point to bring up that I haven't heard anyone else mention. Game is hard af and new players definitely will get turned off if they have no clue what they're doing.
@@HendoXL Just attempted x6 games of trios with blue/purple gear with mid rolls and ate the bard/cleric/wizard buffs into fighter/barb/plate warlock, big sleeper
I mean the thing with wizards in D&D is that they always were super strong and nearly gods if they have all their spells. I feel like it's the same in DAD. Totally makes sense that wizards to have all that power need to rest and have downtime. That's kind of the entire point of resources..... Let's also not pretend you can't bring like 4 or more campfires to every match so you pretty eliminate that downtime. Wizards needed a nerf to that perk for sure.... maybe not as heavy handed as it was I will agree. A wizard running me down with 5 hastes, 5 invis, 8 fireballs, 10 zaps was a little bit overkill. You could literally just full send a assload of spells without trying to budget them at all. It was too much output with very little counterplay from your opponent who had to dodge fucking 20 spells before they could close the gap.
Duos is by far the best mode, agreed Map is fantastic with no circle, because theres no circle it can have the insane mob density it has so its a genuine but doable challenge, loot is great with multiple gold chests in most tiles, and pvp feels the most balanced, basically any comp is playable and almost every fight feels winnable which is absolutely not the case in solos and trios
Idk bout that 1 chief, in the first warlock clip u got hit 4 times there, 2 to half health, but idk his gear since u didnt show it so i cant say if its his gear thats good or just warlock in itself, all in all the video was good, good takes here an there 🙏💪
9:14 i thought phantomize only negated physical damage (havnt played in awhile) should spuddy of finished casting his magic missiles at this point? im confused.
14:40 I shit you not I spawned in on normal goblin caves and within (again no exaggeration) the FIRST MINUTE of the game I had 3 players come into my spawn room. first a bard, then a warlock, then a fighter. goblin caves is just kinda busted rn
WHAT IF... they brought back ruins and made goblin caves the "down" level of ruins, like inferno after crypts. then all 3 maps have a second layer (ice caverns eventually) also would probably want to make the loot of goblin caves more like inferno especially in HR. I believe this would help the GC issue in a way that the more people die in ruins, the less pvp there might be in GC. This way people who like Ruins can get that back and people who like GC have that option
Offline mode like tarkov might be a good shout, take in whatever you want to a PVM only raid where nothing is saved if you die or escape. No xp or loot gains when in offline
The warlock nerf just for it to get immediately reverted and then triple buffed is absolutely WILD. Like, ironmace clearly knows that warlock is too strong, why else would they have pushed a nerf in the first place.. but then immediately take it back AND THEN BUFF IT? No idea what is going on.
me and my friends despise the ice cavern map, we'd rather play duos in the trio map, or just go high roller base gear into goblins cave and hope for the best
I'm not afraid to call warlocks bullshit, though. Endless spells + multiple ways to ignore the mythical hp cost of endless spell. Melee damage, ranged damage, doorway blockers, three ways to get hp back before even looking at potions or bandages, dots, debuffs, buffs, plate armor if desired, and even a thorns effect to punish people for hitting them the first time.
I'm a total casual and I FUCKIN LOVE solo goblin caves normal right now. No bullshit looting, gear difference etc. just chaos and action from the get go. PvE mode is not why I play multiplayer games
That Warlock could have been insanely geared. You can do the same thing to a rogue as a geared wizard. As for his magic dmg reduction, that's kind of the Warlocks bread and butter. Plus curse of pain is harder to hit than zap is. I'm not saying Warlock is weaker than Wizard, but they both have their strengths. Wizard dominates compared to Warlocks in trios. Warlock dominates solos compared to Wizards. Duo is kinda even IMO depending on the comp you play.
its sad to see these comments but i feel yah. Got the same relationship with LoL. you could try running normals now. they buffed loot, boss room in inferno got marvelous chest and loot pile again, pvp is a lot better (imo) due to the lack of gear disparity. (no 350ms people running at you perma)
Hey spuddy, you'll be happy know they buffed the warlock again! These devs really know what they're doing with this game eh? Also great vid, I love them! I just wish I didn't always keep missing your streams lol Also I completely agree with ice caves. Or just Duo in general. Way more team comps viable, solo viable, good mix of pve and pvp, etc. The map is boring as hell to look at, but everything else is great about it.
I agree, that duo mode is the most fun. The only problem is... You have to have a friend playing the game... And that is the reason I am stuck solo.

Goblins are like the easiest to fight, goblin caves just feels like pubg at this point with how many people there are
Golden eye music and immaturity = sub
Wizard got his mandated week of being op, back to obscurity for a few months. See you all when he’s OP again in June! :)
wizard is still op :p you're just distracted from warlock being even more op
@@MrRawrgers seriously! Why do they keep bugging him 😭
Everytime I try to use the elevator it ends in the wendigo rummaging through my loot and tea bagging my corpse after 1 taping me before I can get a 3 second interaction done.
you can interact with the lever through the wall surrounding the elevator
Normals has been such a blast as well. the squire is an excellent addition
NOOO YOU TOLD THE DEVS THE WENDIGO STRAT 😥
PS: Playing wizard and making rangers bounce on my fire balls is an all time activity
Some kind of tutorial is a really good point to bring up that I haven't heard anyone else mention. Game is hard af and new players definitely will get turned off if they have no clue what they're doing.
Duos is deffo the most enoyable gameplay atm, can almost play whatever you want and everyone wants that loot pile, loads of fights. Cheers for the vid
Yeah I’ve always seen it this way, trios is forced meta not much wiggle room for certain teams / fun builds.. duo is #1
@@HendoXL Just attempted x6 games of trios with blue/purple gear with mid rolls and ate the bard/cleric/wizard buffs into fighter/barb/plate warlock, big sleeper
@@Swiftwisp your saying fighter barb warlock is a good counter to bard cleric wizard?
Was not expecting the BF2 loading screen music
Keep making your great videos.I might not be on the best terms for this game, but you make it at least worth watching.
I appreciate that!
Duos is by far the best mode, agreed
Map is fantastic with no circle, because theres no circle it can have the insane mob density it has so its a genuine but doable challenge, loot is great with multiple gold chests in most tiles, and pvp feels the most balanced, basically any comp is playable and almost every fight feels winnable which is absolutely not the case in solos and trios
For the polarizing views on both sized of the warlock/wizard debate: They both got nerfed. Also, magic resistance exists.
bro that toe thing had me dying... holy shit i laughed so hard, hahahahaha!
I'm so happy I can enjoy this game by watching these awesome vids....without having to play it myself lmao
Pve map featuring only grey or white loot would be sick. Would be great for trios too
To be fair the Warlock hit you 4 times with his curse and aiming wise it's close to hitting a zap.
It should be mentioned this video was produced before yesterday's patch that made goblin caves 5x5 again
Idk bout that 1 chief, in the first warlock clip u got hit 4 times there, 2 to half health, but idk his gear since u didnt show it so i cant say if its his gear thats good or just warlock in itself, all in all the video was good, good takes here an there 🙏💪
Fell asleep to one video and woke to this one
The bing chilling got me 😂😂😂
9:14
i thought phantomize only negated physical damage (havnt played in awhile) should spuddy of finished casting his magic missiles at this point? im confused.
I'm so sorry.. 7:51 twas me! My second appearance in a Spuddy vid i'm a happy camper. Great vid!
Gg
They don't need to nerf things. They need to bring other classes in line with the stronger classes.
PEAK WIZARD GAMEPLAY
"He's cranking one out" 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you PVE would make this way more viable for new players
Also do you not know you can splash damage phantomise with fireball (they take more damge while it active too)
The warlock hit you 4 times bruh, that was a good play on his part
The warlock nerf just for it to get immediately reverted and then triple buffed is absolutely WILD. Like, ironmace clearly knows that warlock is too strong, why else would they have pushed a nerf in the first place.. but then immediately take it back AND THEN BUFF IT? No idea what is going on.
Disco cam Spuddy is S-Tier
came for the dopamine stayed for the toe
i miss rotations and ruins honestly. Keep the good content flowing Spuddy!
me and my friends despise the ice cavern map, we'd rather play duos in the trio map, or just go high roller base gear into goblins cave and hope for the best
Bro the golden eye theme is dank asssfk
Hey, big props for the battlefield 4 loading screen music. I think that map would be Lumphini Garden? I'm probably wrong on that.
Bf2 loading. Close
@@TheSpudHunter Ooooh right, it's re-used for the re-make of the BF2 map Dragon Valley in BF4. Everything clicks.
Spuddy I love you pure and simple mate.
battlefield 2 music hit right in my feelings man c':
I'm not afraid to call warlocks bullshit, though.
Endless spells + multiple ways to ignore the mythical hp cost of endless spell. Melee damage, ranged damage, doorway blockers, three ways to get hp back before even looking at potions or bandages, dots, debuffs, buffs, plate armor if desired, and even a thorns effect to punish people for hitting them the first time.
very true
dont think i didnt notice that battlefield 4 load screen music. i forget the map but i think its one of the dlc ones like way later dlc
Is there a reason spud doesn’t fireball the phantom warlocks the aoe damage ticks for almost double
You should have a word with the artist who gave you a boomerang for a mask lol
I'm a total casual and I FUCKIN LOVE solo goblin caves normal right now. No bullshit looting, gear difference etc. just chaos and action from the get go. PvE mode is not why I play multiplayer games
We back boys!
Wizard and Warlock are both insane at high gear. It’s literally just casters scaling incredibly well.
It’s been the same way for the last year.
Duo is kinda even IMO depending on the comp you play.
its 10 am and this shit got me dying LOL
5:10 Are you doing live cuts with...foot pedals?
I have a production team of 10 staff
Spuddy always makes me want to play the game then I do and I'm like oh right that's why I stopped lol
its sad to see these comments but i feel yah. Got the same relationship with LoL. you could try running normals now. they buffed loot, boss room in inferno got marvelous chest and loot pile again, pvp is a lot better (imo) due to the lack of gear disparity. (no 350ms people running at you perma)
we need ruins map & rotation back
it was the most fun i had as a solo
Hey spuddy, you'll be happy know they buffed the warlock again! These devs really know what they're doing with this game eh?
Also great vid, I love them! I just wish I didn't always keep missing your streams lol
Also I completely agree with ice caves. Or just Duo in general. Way more team comps viable, solo viable, good mix of pve and pvp, etc. The map is boring as hell to look at, but everything else is great about it.
your aim w/ wizard is crazy spud
Cheers
that warlock hit you 4 times with COP btw. thats fair in my eyes. thats equal to 4 zaps from a wizard. you just cant hear it as good
