Yes, he saved a thug's life. Now we have to pay for his medical bills, food, housing and of course, all the little next-generation thugs he's likely fathered. I don't think cops should use deadly force "indiscriminately," but once a criminal has posed an imminent, deadly threat, risking the lives of the innocent public and brave cops as leverage to potentially save the life of someone who now deserves to die is, in my opinion reckless and a misappropriation of values.
Give him a riase? It should be common sense, nay, almost muscle memory to be aware of crossfire if you are carrying a firearm. It would be negligent as fuck to be the owner of a firearm ( let alone a police officer) and shoot an innocent person because you can bother to know where your bullets are going to end up after you pull the trigger. I am aware that all of these situations are decisions made in a fraction of a second with adrenaline going off but, as a police officer you should absolutely have the ability to spot a potential crossfire situation.

@@NeoPest They were different departments. If you pay attention Seattle stopped him because the owner of the vehicle had a felony warrant and King County wanted him, the driver, for something unrelated. The SPD officer was done with their investigation and the driver was no longer their suspect.
@@TaggingNBagging i know they are different depts. this was actually king county s.o. using seattle p.d. to stop him so they could initiate a drug investigation. at this point king county lost control of the situation allowing the dept employees of seattle to blow this situation up.
sadly these types of situations happen frequently where one agency uses another to obtain an initial unrelated traffic stop so they can then swoop in and corner the subject of their investigation. these situations often go south fast for whatever reasons.
i know the description states they were there to arrest him but if they had warrants for him they would have used them. instead they wanted to detain the vehicle and it's occupants to conduct an investigation.
you can bet your bottom dollar if there was a gun and narcotics found then he would have already been charged but seattle is conducting their own investigation into things to find any reason to legally excuse their employees mishandling of events.

That one cop telling everyone to chill is how all cops should act, calm and professional.
well he is a higher rank, so he probably has a lot of experience in high-stress situations, not everyone reacts to stress the same. I do agree that at least one cop should always be the speaker and take initiative to control the situation tho. They just have to be loud and make everyone calm.
Imo the best one out of all these videos and I've seen a lot lol; Very poised and how every cop should react.
