    Makes sense that maybe what happened with the full coal cart was the miners loaded it with coal and before they could get the cart load to the surface that major collapse happened.....alot of work involved loading a full coal cart to just leave it there for eternity. Thanks for putting boots underground man, love that cart , really cool.

      @@AmazingPennsylvania That was an insane crawl. Though I seem to recall your way earlier videos having a bunch of explores that make this one look like nothing.
      By the way, the trees and brush underneath those openings I mentioned in Taylor are getting cleared away so you might want to check it out sooner than later. Though I don't think they'll be able to do anything with the top of the hill where they are as there's a housing project just above them.

I had a problem with a black bear once, they're really shady animals, fortunately I had a gun. since I'm here to tell the tale you know who walked away from that confrontation. if you're in bear country you better get a gun. it's better to have and not need as opposed to need and not have, like condoms right.

    Scary places under ground. Seeing all those rock falls reminds me of my own father's life and death. A coal miner all his life; he was crushed under a rock fall in 1943. I was only four at the time but still remember as if it were yesterday. This happened in the small community of Rawl, Mingo County, southern, WV. Dad succumbed to his injuries eight days later. The list of coal mining injuries and deaths is a long one. Anyway, thanks for taking us along, and I'm glad both of you got out safely.

    Wow Phil I was holding my breathe the whole video. Man did it not disappoint. The coal cart still full of coal with the numbers on it just insane. Looks like you might be the last person to ever lay eyes on that thing before it’s lost forever and reclaimed by nature. I really can’t believe you got in there. Three questions: do you think that was a bootleg mine or a bigger operation? From you experience do you think that cart would have been mule pulled or machine moved? I know these mines aren’t safe and you normally go for it but how do you gauge the danger of collapses and keep from creating further ones while your down there?

    • @AmazingPennsylvania
      @AmazingPennsylvania  6 місяців тому +1

      This was part of a big operation according to my research. And yes I discussed it with a friend. It's a good chance this was pulled by mule. The roof can be dangerous regardless of appearance. Slowly and quietly is the best approach

    • @northeastfisherman3277
      @northeastfisherman3277 6 місяців тому

      @@AmazingPennsylvania I made an educated guess judging my the single ring on the cart it was a mule pulled cart. Must have been a big operation due to the number on the cart, I think it was 12000 something. The last person who unhooked that cart and walked out of the mine probably thought it would never be seen again.

Good thing you were able to dig it out here! Always bring a spare too. You are kinda screwed if you legit lose your flashlight in decripit places like these (aside from your headlamp).
