- Here's a beautiful video of Milani, a three year old first-time mother, giving birth to her five cheetah cubs on September 19, 2014.
Cheetahs, like most animals and even humans labor best in a safe and secure envirnoment. This small space is actually an ideal location for Milani to give birth. There is one entrance for her to watch for danger and while she is most vulnerable she's able to feel safe while giving birth.
Another note; this small den is actually inside of a much larger covered space that she has full access to.

Such an amazing vidio to watch! I just love cheetas! They're so beautiful! She must have been exhausted when it was all done! I can't even imagine the pain she was in giving birth! I bet after every one she was like, OK, I stop to rest a few moments, then puuuuush and puuuuuush and puuuuuuush again to get the next one out! Just reast and then puuuuuush! Reast and puuuuuuush! I bet when the forth one came out, she was so tired, but knew she had to push one more time! Such a cool vidio to watch! Rain.

I have worked in rural n tribal areas with animals n can say that female animal mammals other than humans also find birth difficult n discomfortable
Now, go to wild tribes dwelling in forest and all, see too deeper dwelling african tribes, even human women their also don't heavily scream while giving birth n are a bit calm , they will have weeping or fear but react calmly cos they are used to going thru such painful 'Life' and rough way of living of only fittest will survive type without much leisure and technology, right from their childhood making them rough n tough to undergo painful situations
Similarly, animals are used to taking pain , cos they have no 'Leisure' or 'Comforts n technologies' right from their birth they lived rough life which makes them mentally tough to bear pain, that's why u will see first time animal mom scared, or moaning slightly or uneasy but not scream very much, just like tribal women don't always scream and return back to work n gather woods just few days after birth after
But people in our society have misconception that only humans are some aliens to have diff n very strange cursed bodies, and human females have more bad body shape that doesn't support birth properly as a curse by god and most difficult births, and a myth that Human female body can't eject out baby naturally without lying flat like statue on bed for hours with legs pulled back beyond limit with back pain n screaming
All animals n birds have difficult births, they move throughout labor to ease pain, but they get up n clean or breastfeed their newborns attentively

thats so sad to hear that 2 did not survive, but what concerns me is why on earth was a water bowl not in her space,....what is wrong with that picture, does any one think that maybe, just maybe she would have liked to had a drink of water while going through all that, smh... what a shame..
1 out 5 would probably survive in the wild. But I understand she's in captivity
+Karen Kramraj We love how concerned you are for our animals! Trust me our staff shares a very huge concern for all animals. Milani, this mother, has an unlimited supply of fresh water just outside of this den box. (auto-refilling station) She will drink when she needs it.

Mothers are selfless and caring to their children not just of humans but animals too. She just gave birth and she might also be in pain but just she cares is her babies.
Childbirth is far less painful for nonhuman animals. It's painful for us because our bipedal anatomy leaves us with less room to squeeze out the baby.

That cell is safe secure with floor covered with layers of dried long grass cubs are heavenly beauties more precious than any diamond. The mother is happy babies are suckling her rich milk. Imagine those tiny cubs will one day race through the savana at 60 kmh.
She must have been exhausted. All night and all the next morning. Go mama! They’re so cute.

Anna Y unheard of? Its a cheatah. They usually have high numbers because in the wild if a cub cant outrun a threat its dead. Many dont make it. Some families dont make it at all or only one survives
