you should really do something about the root cause too. Like, they don't corrode out of the blue. Either that valve have a tiny tiny tiny pinhole leak, or the area itself where that tamper switch may be too humid. I would suggest improving sealing between switch casing and switch base too with some bathroom silicon. Just do something so that switch doesn't fail in a year or two again.
What you didn't mention was the Product name Potter, (USA) you also didn't explain that there is a groove in the OS &Y spindle and the arm which comes out of the tamper switch must sit in this groove, once the valve begins to shut, this arm comes out of the groove onto the round part of the spindle and its this action which sends an error message to the fire panel. In Australia we have both a class B supervisory tamper switch and a Class A anti tamper switch . How about doing a story about a class A - how it works and under what circumstances must you use it- relates to an Australian/NZ standard. I've a class A in the pump room in another one of your videos Have you done anything about supervisory switches in butterfly valves? Like your videos Steve
Thanks Steve, I did supervisory switches before for tamper switches and valve monitoring as well. I will try to do videos for them once I came across. Thanks a lot.
Hi Renzen, monitor modules are connected to each tamper switch for FDAS monitoring. But these tamper switches are not meant to call the fire brigade but only to alert the building manager. Thnxs for asking.
if you close the valve then reopen is the panel still in alarm and has to be reset or not? if the tamper switches are in series how do you know which one if not the whole four has been tampered with?
If the tamper is fully open, the alarm shall reset itself automatically. Most of them are program to be non-latching or resting once normalised itself. If they are in series and indicate an alarm, it's a trial and error which among them (valves) was moved or failed normal setting.
Tamper switches are monitored to an input module. Your output will be based on your requirement. It could be a separate zone for a conventional circuit. In addressable, just a monitor module or single input device will do.
Hi Mate. Thanks. I am running my own fire protection company here in sydney. For that type of pump control panel, I have not encountered that. Mostly here are locally made control 12v system such as A Line, All Pumps, APC to suit the Australian standard 2941. Wish I can help.
Both of them are connected to the FACP for monitoring. However, flow switch, once activated, will activate the evacuation system of a particular level or zone where sprinkler water flow occurred. Then, the evacuation sound will cascade until the building is totally evacuated. In Australia, it's called EWIS (Evacuation Warning Intercommunication System).
Sir have a nice day,yon po bang suction O.S. &Y gatevalve kailangan pa bang lagyan ng Tamper switch? At pati yong Control O.S.&y gatevalve ng Flowmeter guage?
The purpose is to monitor the tamper switch as it is part of the fire system. Pump controls are for pumps only but any abnormality in the pump control such as failed pump, no power in the controls ...should be monitored as well by the FDAS.
@@reymundoleones6932 ...sorry for the late reply. Tamper switches are mostly installed in the supply side. Ang jockey pump don't need a tamper monitoring.
Running cables in parallel for 3 tamper switches is a cheap way to monitor all existing main isolating valves. The monitoring resistor of 10K remained the same in parallel connection.
Nice to know that. We only use metal conduits for fire stairs and areas where cables may be damaged. All cables used must be 1 - 2 hrs fire rated depends if its for detection or monitoring. Cheers.
sir paano po magreset ng tamper switch? naka bypass kc sa fdas, and naka marked as closed. paano ibalik sa normally open? kailangan pa ba baklasin? maraming salamat
Tamper switch are program as non-latching. It should rest itself once the short circuit alarm is cleared. If it was in a conventional set-up, you just reset the zone after clearing the short circuit sa tamper switch. Salamat.
If the pumps pressure switches are not affected, it good to go. Otherwise, kailangang palitan ang pressure switch that runs the pumps and set it again sa required starting pressure.
sir question lang po. Need pa ba natin maglagay ng monitor module sa flow switch para sa fire alarm or direct na sa flow switch to fire alarm. okay lang na hindi na for monitoring?
For tamper switch, we use a monitor module that is non-latching. Yung automatic to reset after the problem clears- either an alarm or a fault. For flow switch, a relay module or can be a monitor module depends sa gamit mo. Sample, flow switch. Level 1 to level 20 had a sprinkler . Each level has a flow switch to identify switch level has a flow of water. Flow switch should not activate an alarm but activate an evacuation system in that level where water is flowing. The trigger for an alarm activation is the loss in pressure hence the pressure switch. So, if level 10 where the fire is, flow switch triggered level 10 EVAC/EWIS and cascade 1 or 2 level up and 1 or 2 level down.

Thanks.. I found a leak just above it and it's all fixed.

Thank you, very helpful !
Any idea what would cause a Main floor pre action tamper supervisory abnormal trouble code? This would be sprinkler related, right?
Misalignment... it can not read the monitoring resistor
Thank you sir galing

Shall we need any monitor or input module to get information from temper switch?
Tamper switches are monitored to an input module. Your output will be based on your requirement. It could be a separate zone for a conventional circuit. In addressable, just a monitor module or single input device will do.

Hello sir good day in the suction line there is a check if the pipe is in vertical position in the cistern thank?
If you are referring to the check valve, that line is the by-pass if engine is not operational.
dami ko natutunan sa inyong mga video sir..maraming salamat sa pag share ng iyong kaalaman.

I have to clear. Ang purpose of tamper switch is for monitoring. If there's no rules or standard about tamper monitoring...magiging optional yan.
