It's true Mr Makwiramiti you said the truth. Leonard Dembo's music is still the best. Best sungura musician. Gamba reMimhanzi.as compared to sungura for these days which got a lot of noise.

When l was going through this Leonard Dembo Historical background. I wept as his mother was narrativing how he up during her absence. Those were hard times the family faced.
Yaaa this History is Expressed by people who know Leonard Dembo for real. The interview was done professionally. The Radio personnel Rabson Umali did his extra per excellence work.
I liked how Gogo Dembo Expressed herself. She expressed joy where it was supposed to be joy. She expressed sadness where it was supposed to bad news.
    Dembo rest in peace ❤❤🎉

Apart from superstions or cultural beliefs, it seems to me that he disdained the Sungura boys (Chibaduras and Chimbetus) who snubbed him when he attempted to join Sungura boys and they only made him a gateboy. However, it's also possible that he had secrets about their dark sides which is a common phenomenon in the music industry even western music industry. I listened to a former Kasongo band member who is now a Pastor who confessed that they used to go to witch-doctors for each other so its possible that it might be the case here, that he was aware of that side that's why he was afraid to perform with them, and that's why he sought traditional spirituality for his career. As dirty as it sounds, this is a beautiful piece of history. Interestingly the history of his life is almost similar to that of John Chibadura, growing up under severely difficult circumstances. On the balance of things I think they were all great musicians. Respect for Macheso who at that time was not a big name but made his way to Chirumanzu for the funeral, he has a big heart and I believe that's why he is also big.

@HumphreyMadzivire-e2g Probably some things were not true or were half truth. His personality was very secretive as evidenced by lack of information about him. So when there is lack of information street gossip thrives. Most of the issues projected in the interview were mostly street gossip and public perception during his life time (they could have been true or imaginary or both). I didn't get the opportunity to litsen to the recap documentary. The wrong information was only about having a history with sungura boys. I will create time to search for it.
