It depends on the context. A lot of people get called Jay Z's sons but it's seen as acknowledgement by someone who is a godfather figure in the game. But like Dizzy said in his response, when you got people who feel entitled, and aren't humble enough to respect what they've been given more than they crave what they haven't been given, being called son feels demeaning. Essentially it's "If I was your son I wouldn't be hungry". There are times when calling someone son actually is demeaning, not just because it can be taken that way but because that's how it's meant. But there was no demeaning intent in it in this case until he dissed Dizzy. Dizzy was essentially like "if that's how you want to see it then that's how it's gonna be for you." Ultimately there's knowing your place, and not everyone is happy with theirs, and there's the struggle to find your identity outside of others, and not everybody wants to do what it takes to make that happen, as Gameboy said at the end. If your foots on the gas like Jamar's is, you shouldn't be asking other people to steer for you. Find your own way.
