Thank you Michael for the time, and effort, to provide your videos. They were a huge help in my recent decision to stay at Kawama. Can't wait to return. I see why you, and many others I met, keep coming back. I am now one of them. 🙂
You man already have seen but I put 2 new videos up since this one and another about a walking tour from Kawama to the nearby restaurants and Santa Marta Market.
I forgot to say; Thankyou for your appreciation. I enjoy trying to help Cuba and Kawama and the people who may consider going here. If we are prepared we can make it quite a superior experience.
Thank you so much for this video. IT SEEM TO BE A BEautifull hotel and beach.I am going to be there soon with my family ..I hope to find it as you enjoid it❤
Hi Michael from Muskoka, Ontario. My husband and son and I went to Hotel Kawama a few years back. It was a resort that we took a chance on with a last minute deal. We had a great time, even though we had maintenance issues, the staff were very helpful, checked with us every day. The food was amazing, a wonderful Valentine's dinner for everyone. The á la cartes had delicious meals. The staff were wonderful - what a quaint smaller resort. The staff sure make your stay enjoyable.
Hi first time posting . Re, Club Kawama. Was a first time visitor .Single dad with 12 year old Daughter 10 years ago Great time and the beach was steps from our room. Budget is always present but I have been in the 5 stars in Varadero and I as , with my now adult Daughter. Will be traveling to Club Kawama this fall . Just a nice place to be .simple in ways but relaxing and real.
As I pay in Canadian dollars and the black market value of them has risen recently the price has remained the same. What brands and prices did you find? I also found one shift of life guards had better choice and price than the other.
Ha wow, was at Sunbeach about 8 years ago and it was the worst place I ever visited. Wouldnt stay there again for free. Thought that place would be closed by now.
Grat Video, I am planning to go to Varadero for 2 weeks at the end of February/beginning of March. Now I don't know how it was because of the weather. Was it always warm enough to swim in February?
Sorry about not paying attention to my comments. At 3:30 you see the things I took. I took more this year. Pack for yourself. Whatever you think you might crave. No one goes to Cuba for the food. Not even what they call 5 stars.

At 3:20 in my Kawama Feb. 2022 video I mention this resort has the most repeat customers in Cuba. Every one of them asks the same question as you. There is a category of rooms that are ocean view and ocean front and you could ask your travel agent to help you with that. Once you have been there and met the staff you could stay in contact and arrange a specific room on a future trip. You can't have my room when I'm there. lol
I am itching for a Cuba vacation! Been watching your videos and I must say, you’re quite the salesman. Trying to talk hubby into giving Kawama a try. We aren’t very fussy. Food doesn’t scare us off. Wondering, though, how are the beds? Also, air conditioning? Is it reliable - or hit and miss? Thanks for your insight.
They replaced the mattresses a few years ago and they're pretty good. Some rooms have trouble with air conditioning working. If you go let me know and I'll ask them to give you a room where it works. lol It's never more than a couple minutes walk to the ocean because Kawama is on a narrow spit of land along the beach.
Thank you, Michael! Lovely video again. Wow, Kawama made so many awesome changes. Not sure, whether I like the white exterior of the front entrance. Is Madeline still working in the buffet? What's happening regarding the musical entertainment during meals in the buffet? Did you fly with Sunwing? If so, did you encounter any problems with Sunwing? Sending love, from Chris K.
Madelaine is still there. I agree about the lobby. Would have liked to see hot water and air conditioners in rooms fixed first. No music usually at the buffet. Flew Sunwing. Plane was an hour and a half late arriving due to being delayed at it's previous stop on leaving and on time coming home.
i really must have went at the worst time in Kawama history . i love low key hotels i even loved Don Lino but my time at Kawama was the worst vacation i have ever had
This is the worst time for Cuba at least since the fall of the Soviet Union and their subsidizing of the Cuban economy. Especially for wholly Cuban owned resorts. All the newer ones are foreign partnerships with deeper pockets. Things got better every year from 2007 at Kawama. When Obama was in power they were really excited that the embargo would end. Then Trump put on over 200 new sanctions and declared Cuba a State Sponsor of Terrorism which strangled their advancements. Then Covid took their tourist money and they're suffering badly now. I've been told 20 longtime Kawama employees have gone to the U.S. or Spain in the past year. In December I had room 901 with no hot water for a week. I liked everything else so didn't switch rooms but learned to shower around 2 when the sun had heated the solar water heater a bit. lol I find people who go to lower starred resorts are more outgoing and fun.
The absolute worst resort to stay at in Varadero rooms are old very dated. No phones in the rooms doors don’t lock and the food was absolutely terrible. I’ve been through Cuba 14 times. I know what to expect food wise, but this was the absolute worst.
@@tomshmon5185 I'm sorry you didn't enjoy yourself. They do have some rooms they shouldn't be giving out and if you go back as a repeater I'm confident you will get better treatment. If you watched my video I think you can see that I ate quite well as I am used to Cuban 3 star hotels. And as everyone says, you don't go to Cuba for the food. Wish you Fun Travels.

Soy un turista, no de gestion. Reservar a traves de una agencia de viajes.
Nobody mentioning the bugs. The no-see-ums have been killer in Cuba. I've seen a few people who had 70% of their legs covered in red welts. Crazy.
My wife and I had no problem at all. You're right that some people should wear bug repellent and/or long pants at night.
Should also mention they are sand fleas jumping up from the ground as the bites are almost all below the knee.
Hi i have been there for 3-4 years ago! do you know one from the staff called Tamara? Is she still working there?
I don't know her by name but have asked the new PR person to check for me and haven't heard back yet.
How to book this room mike thx

Mikey how much is that box of cigars cost in Canadian dollars thank you
$60 Canadian is the lowest quote I could get at the resort. I did buy a few loose ones for a bit less. I paid $50 in October and December.
