I did not understand the dotenv part. You brought it into the index.js file, but did not use it. Wouldn't it just work without creating const dotenv = require('dotenv')?

For anyone else having the same issue, I had a problem with the dotenv file when storing the MONGO_URI variable as a string. When I removed the double quotes around the string I was able to connect to MongoDB. Not sure why as the COOKIE_SECRET works as a string.

One of the main differences is with Keystone you build schema with code (and can version control it). Strapi uses a UI. FYI - we're making some big improvements! Take a peek at next.keystonejs.com/ 🌞. You may want to use that version if you're starting something new.

Let's say I have a next js application with node & express as a backend. Can I use a third party CMS to manage everything like create a new product, showing analytics etc. ? If so tell some popular CMS that I can use.
@@saravanansb96 As far I know strapi can create rest api that can be consumed by the front end. But if I already created a rest api in node express how can I connect the api with strapi?
FYI. Strapi supports graphql as well. Strapi uses koa which is similar to express. It has a mvc kind of pattern when you can write all the apis and functionalities in strapi itslf.

For anyone else having the same issue, I had a problem with the dotenv file when storing the MONGO_URI variable as a string. When I removed the double quotes around the string I was able to connect to MongoDB. Not sure why as the COOKIE_SECRET works as a string.

One of the main differences is with Keystone you build schema with code (and can version control it). Strapi uses a UI. FYI - we're making some big improvements! Take a peek at next.keystonejs.com/ 🌞. You may want to use that version if you're starting something new.

Let's say I have a next js application with node & express as a backend. Can I use a third party CMS to manage everything like create a new product, showing analytics etc. ? If so tell some popular CMS that I can use.
I would strongly recommend you to check out strapi. You will love it

FYI. Strapi supports graphql as well. Strapi uses koa which is similar to express. It has a mvc kind of pattern when you can write all the apis and functionalities in strapi itslf.
