Eva nailed it with her comments about a new generation of fans who watched with someone like a parent. In my case, it was a baby-sitter. My mom took a course one summer and she was gone most of the afternoon. My babysitter was a girl in her late teens who loved the show and I watched it with her. The show was actually quite new at the time. Oh, and in a little bit of weird coincidence my babysitter's name (I kid you not) was Janet Green!
Watched the first Epi on my first day of Kindergarten with my mother. Sick days, College and on. Sad for the demise.

Oh my goodness I was so excited to see this. Miss seeing them all. I would love for this show and the actors to come back in some way. Also loved that they spoke about John Callahan. I was so sad when I heard of his passing.
I started watching all my children when I little with my grandmother and I loved it. I wish they would have a reboot of all my children

Oh remember skipping school to watch the 1st episode of All My Children. Bought the 1st VCR in case I couldn’t take my lunch break during❤️. I have boxes of VHS & DVD’s to this day!

I worked in the production office of “All My Children” when it was being taped at 101 West 67 Street in Manhattan. To save money, they used to reuse the master videotapes and eventually record new shows over old ones, thus erasing the old ones. The old ones were retained for a limited amount of time in case they were needed for recall (flashback) scenes. I saw a 1975 memo that producer Bud Kloss had sent to some supervisor in the videotape recording area telling him to stop reusing the show’s videotapes and that the show would pay for a fresh roll of videotape each day. There are some black-and-white film kinescopes of early 1970s episodes in existence such as this one:

I've watched this soap opera since I was about 5 or 6. In 1972 when Susan was a young woman about to marry Nick and Mona tried to talk her out of it. All the way to the end of the last show. Never watched another soap after All my Children ended. Best soap ever.

It was already in the works and they (Kelly and Mark) were trying to see if former cast members were interested. Mid-90s "All My Children" was daytime television at its best! I always defend and champion the memories from this show to friends who roll their eyes and think that soaps were all horribly cheesy with poor acting. The tornado causing Julia's disfigurement leading to her rape leading her to meeting Noah leading her to going on the run in Jamaica - EPIC! Maria sleeping with Dimitri leading to the baby Maddie saga leading to the plane crash that killed Maria leading to the post-plane crash fallout with Brooke and Adam - EPIC! Everything with Mateo and Hayley - EPIC!
The first scene I saw with Hayley and Mateo...I was team Hayley and whoever she was dating...then I saw her and Mateo...best chemistry I ever saw between characters. I was so happy when I read that the actors were officially a couple. (This was pre-internet as we know it...I had to wait til news came out in Soap Opera Digest)
This was great. Really miss all my children.

I spent summers in Nebraska with my grandmother and she watched AMC every day. I was totally disinterested until I saw the character Jenny Gardner in a bikini LOL. "So grandma, what's her story?" From that point on -- HOOKED.

The best acting was on AMC. What a great connection they all had. I would have loved a job like that, how lucky Kelly was to land that job at such a young age than to land the talk show as a host!!

They all are ageless. They all look so young, Kelly aged more than the rest, but, they all look great
WTF! ELR auditioned for Kendall? I never heard that before, that would of been bizarre obviously. I had to watch this one cause I loved the Santos family (and I hated when they all started to drop like flies from the show) and these three were part of my favorite AMC pairings IE Noah/Julia, Edmund/Maria, and Mateo/Hayley. I was also pleasantly surprised to hear SP would be on this, I hardly see her talk about AMC. I was happy to hear her talk about KHC and the Noah/Julia relationship. I never bought those rumors that they hated each other RME. It was nice to hear their memories of John Callahan as well, Edmund was always one of my favorite characters on the show. ELR was right about why it lasted so long, I started watching it cause my dad watched it lol. I started watching it in 1993 and I think it was Kendall that intrigued me, then when Julia got scarred in the tornado, ran away, and stayed with Noah leading to them falling in love was the thing that really reeled me in and made me VERY invested (and they had powerful and great storylines like Julia's rape, the abortion, Julia's HIV scare, the Jamaica storyline, etc. I never saw things like that before either) They were the first couple I fell for and loved, and Noah/Julia is still my favorite TV couple of all time. I'm glad they were one of AMC's most popular supercouples. I'm so glad 90's AMC episodes are up on UA-cam, it's been so great to see the episodes again.
I only recently learned about them supposedly hating each other. Of course I didn’t want to believe it. I loved Noah & Julia! I’m even more skeptical about those rumors now after SP mentioned KHC. Why would she go out of her way to do that? I also remember her saying nice things about him in interviews during & after her time on AMC.
I was however shocked to learn that KHC is gay! 🤯 Had no clue lol

The (only) bad part about these reunions: so many of the key cast during my fandom (1999-2011) was elderly, and have since passed on.

After leaving AMC, the actor who played Noah, (Keith Hamilton Cobb) was on Y&R and that Kevin Sorbo sci-fi show. I think he’s mostly done theater though. That seems to be his passion.

jennifer stewart All My Children was unwatcheable at the end with lackluster characters and bad writing after creator Agnes Nixon was banned from the show. . People want to see super couples like these when the show dealt with important topics, humor. . The show was #1 in 1991 when these characters came on. Maria and Edmund, Noah and Julia, Hayley and Mateo, Jenny and Greg (the best and most popular couple ever), Tara and Phil, Nina and Cliff, Jesse and Angie, Nico and Cecily, Trevor and Natalie were why people watched the show. and made the show. Sadly you missed the show when it was great and high rated. Pretty much every popular actor left AMC to go to California. These people were on for years and left an impact which is why they are on.
Exactly they are not part of the classic AMC! They are part of those overrated Santos! Not the classic Martins, Tylers and Grants, Hubbards. I love the host!
jennifer stewart Well everyone’s favorite all time couple was Greg and Jenny and Kim Delaney was only on for 3 years but made an impression. By the early 90’s The Tylers. Martins and Courtlands were pretty much replaced by the Dillons, The Marick family. Loved Dimitri and Edmund and the Angelique story, and The Santos family. The Santos family was wonderful and so popular. The show is about family and new families had to be introduced to keep people watching. The most popular actors moved on. The day Josh Duhanel aired as Leo I knew he would be big and of course he left after his contract was up. But we had 3 glorious years of Leo and Greeenlee. Edmund and Maria were incredibly popular and Hayley grew up on the show first with the black wig and was on for 15 years longer than The Hubbards so she definitely deserves to be here. The head of ABC made them show Noah and Julia every day because they were so popular so this was a great time for the show and these actors made the show and after they all left it was never as good again. Everyone I worked with was obsessed with the show then. It was a great time for the show. We were obsessed with Sarah Gellar as Kendall, Sadly the show’s quality, writing and heart dissapeared after 2008 and became hard to watch with Agnes Nixon’s heart and writing gone. Lets celebrate the show when it was great and when these people were on it was great and #1 which is why they are here. Only the online version brought back the magic with Agnes Nixon in charge again and writing. Loved it!! The show was always about family. Everyone had their favorite familes. My favorite Opal will always be Dorothy Lyman and she won back to back Emmys and left after 2 years for Mama’s Family after Carol Burnett lured her to away. Jill Larsen did a great job but Dorothy will always be my favorite Opal. I want to see Dorothy with Kim Delaney( Jenny), Larry Lau( Greg), Darnell ( Jesse) and Debbie Morgan(Angie), Marcy Walker(Liza), and Amanda Bearse( Amanda). That was my favorite time of All My Children. It was never better than when Jenny and Jesse were living in N. Y.C.

Lockamum Oh How I loved Natalie and Trevor. They were so popular. That is why I mentioned The Dillons as they were the whole show for a while. And Hayley was a part of that. People became obsessed with Janet Green, Natalie’s awkward, wacky sister when she moved in with them and fell for Trevor and wanted what her “perfect” sister Natalie had which led her to putting Natalie in the well and wearing her clothes and dying her hair and impersonating her. Trust me I was so sad when Kate Collins quit the show. As much as I loved Natalie I couldnt get enough of her wacky portrayal of Crazy Janet from another planet. Hehe. Nobody could replace her. She brought back the great humor and was the funniest character since the original Opal played by Dorithy Lyman. Loved Natalie and Trevor... and crazy Janet. It was a great time for All My Children.
