HAPPY EASTER FRIDAY EVERYBODY!! Hope you have lots of chocolate and fun planned for the weekend. Let us know what you are getting up to! We just love easter and dying to know how you guys celebrate it!!
Flying The Nest My Mum and I have already planned a easter egg hunt around our house for my younger brothers. It has 9 riddles to tell you where the next one is and at the final position there will be a stash of easter eggs for them.
Heyy Mr And Ms Flying The Nest, watching this makes me wanna buy my flight tix back from Sydney to Malaysia and eat those dinner! Anyway, what volunteering program that you guys joined?
You are so lucky to be doing this we wish we had the opportunity to do it when we were young like you two are !! we love all the work you put into your Vlogs This was so unreal..............love you !!!! xxxx Dad and Mum
You guys are literally making me miss Malaysia more and more. 😂 Glad that the vlog is extended. Thank you so much for the effort Steph! The drone footages and time-lapses are really amazing. Btw, the mosque's prayers are sort of like an alarm clock for most Malaysians. When I was younger, the final prayers are my reminders to go home for dinner after playing with my friends in the parks. And yea guys, avoid dark coloured shirts because they act as a camouflage for mosquitos and they love hiding at dark spots. Take care!
Have you got some plans to go and visit back home? I'm so glad you are enjoying all the drone footage and timelapses! We kinda are daily vlogging, like that was 3 days but decided to put into 1 long rather than 3 shortish vlogs! Also means I can put some more time into the edit haha... I think this edit was 7 hours long haha! Oh that's so interesting! Thanks for letting us know, we loved listening to the prayers, really added to the culture.
Yea, I'll be going back to get my scuba diving license at one of the islands in June :) Hahaha. That's a lot of effort. Thanks again for bringing us all the amazing contents. You guys are actually exploring more Malaysian things than I have ever done in my entire life. I have never been to one of those traditional Malay home and most of my Malay friends don't even eat with their hands. Hahaha. Glad you guys are enjoying! Happy Easter , take care and enjoy ur stay in Sabah!
+Desmond.Fido scuba? That's awesome you will love it. We still need to do like 1 more test and we are qualified. We didn't have enough time with Louis to finish it in South Africa. Really enjoying Malaysia so thankful we could see so much of it
Desmond.Fido hey im kinda been wanting to get a diving lisence as well. which island are u planning to go for? im planning for perhentian but not sure on which diving centre to go on yet.
hajar azim hey. I will be getting it in Tioman this June with Marine Monkees. The main reason why I'm going with Marine Monkees is because one of my friends that will be getting the license together knows the instructor. Otherwise I think there are actually plenty of choices depending on your budget. I would have chosen Redang if my friends didn't have a tight budget, the beaches there are more beautiful. Perhentian is pretty good option too.
Wow it really was like watching a movie (17 minutes vlog by Flying the Nest - that's what I'm living for 💪🏻) Your editing was literally on point Stephen 👏🏻 really could've been the beginning of Jurassic Park!
+Flying The Nest really? I heard Malaysia is really rich with ancient stuff!

This has to be my favorite vlog ever! I don't know what it is but that interaction with the locals, the trekking, the cave exploring, the sleeping on that shelter, the way you cooked on the jungle, honestly everything was amazing! I loved every bit of it!
Oh my gosh. I volunteered a few years ago in Malaysia and trekked in the jungle and this brought back so many memories (including horrifying leech flashbacks)! thank you so much for posting this though! Love from a fellow Perthie
You did?? Which area did you volunteer? That's so cool! And yayy for the Perthie!! North or South? This will decide if our friendship can continue haha
I love your videos!! I know it sounds like a lot of extra work but a cool 5-10 minute edit of all the cool things you did in a country would be incredible! Something like "Malaysia in 10 minutes." Ive seen a couple small youtubers do it and it's usually their most popular videos! Keep up the good work :)
Loving the Malaysian travelogue. I think we Malaysians don't appreciate our country enough, we have so many wonderful places to see. But most Malaysians have never visited any of the places you two had. I for one, have never been to the Orang Utan Island, think I am going there soon. Thanks for showing these. Also, the music is lovely!!
You guys awesome, mate! You explored and experienced truly Malaysian like no others, even most Malaysian didn't have your endurance & experience. Next time, love to see you guys try local Musang King Durian @ Gua Musang, Kelantan...only half an one hour drive from Merapoh. Terimakasih for being awesome travelers. I'm now a subscriber to your channel, mate!
We hope that every Malaysian can get the chance to see the places we saw! Such a beautiful country - one of our favourites in Asia. Thanks for subscribing mate :)
Hi guys I love watching this kind of vlogs...showing small village life instead...not many ppl doing it...mostly they like to show the city life... Keep it up guys... Greetings from Kajang Malaysia...land of thousand SATAY 😃
At around 13:04 the creature in the cave is actually a whip scorpion and the snake would most likely be the beauty rat snake (Elaphe taeniura), they actually feed on bats and other small animals.
We're in Malaysia now and I'm loving all of your fun videos! There's so many beautiful things to do but they're not well known so this was super helpful! Sorry about the Leech, Steve! I had one in Australia (Curtis Falls) but it was a baby and it didn't make me bleed... thank goodness! -Amanda
I have to say THANK YOU!! Thank you for sharing your adventures because your courage and thirst for adventure is contagious! I've dreamed of traveling the world for years now, but always made excuses or found some other reason to save the money. After watching this video (as well as your others, and reading the Alchemist), I've finally made the decision and today I booked my first flight. I'm going to see a place I've only dreamed of this coming fall: Machu Picchu!!! Thank you sooooo much! Best travels to you!!! XXX
WHAT?! That's amazing! We are soo happy to hear you booked your first flight! You are going to love it! We haven't been to Machu Picchu but we have heard great things about it! You will have to keep us updated on your trip!

You guys can also go to Cameron Highland in Pahang states. I dont know much about that places but that places is low temperature. Maybe it more suitable
this place is awesome. so in love with your vlogs. you should try Pahang National Park as well, biggest national park in peninsular Malaysia. interesting activities you can do are canopy walkway, jungle trekking, exploring cave, rapid shooting, sungai tahan river cruising, fish sanctuary, enjoying local dish at floating restaurant and many more. if u guys do so, dont forget to vlog..!! 😁
New subscriber here! Awesome video! Loved seeing the birthday cake especially. No matter where we are in the world there is always a reason to celebrate life
Yay thanks so much for joining the club :) yes it was really cool that we got to hang out for the little ones birthday! Super nice of them to invite us around for it!
In case you notice my comment, just wanted to say Hi 🥳 came across your video as I’m looking for jungle trekking vlog (because of COVID19 outbreak and i feel like going into the forest!) And turned out the video was in Merapoh, the place where i did my internship last year with FE and stay at the same house you stayed😂 And of course missing the local Batek people. Saw Atu the guide, Bidans, Susu the dog and the kids, they’re all grown up now😂
I just discovered your channel recently and absolutely love it, it's great to see Aussie travel vloggers! My boyfriend and I live in South Australia and are 1st & 2nd year uni students who love travel so we look up to you guys ;D Also now I have the Jurassic Park theme stuck in my head..
Hey guys! How did you organize the trip? do you have any tips on finding people who would take us there,or any group that is organising these trips? Thank you in advance!
One of the most amazing sunset to see in Malaysia is at "BENDANG" or paddy field. Trust me, it is beyond amazing! (NOTE: make sure you go to the paddy field NOT during harvest season)
You should go to Kota Bharu, Kelantan! Its very traditional and colourful state. youll found a bunch of traditional Malay food. And dont forget to go to Pasar Siti Khadijah *the seller is just only women. But im gonna advise you guys to wear something "proper" if you dont want some strangers stare at you tho 😂. coz its the most strong Islam states so the culture there is more to modesty. Btw enjoy your trip! 😁
Flying The Nest yeah you guys should there would be some amazing ones in all the places that you have been and I actually own one which I created 80m from my house.
there's a special kind of socks that can protect you from leeches cause it's too slippery for them to climb on to. otherwise just some salt with make them let go quickly.
new subscriber here. I've watched your Perhentian Island's vlog and it was super awesome. Funfact, Terengganu is my hometown and I'm currently studying in a university in Penang. You just made me miss my hometown. hahaha. Come and visit Penang, you're gonna love this state!
before you enter the malaysia jungle please take a tabacco put in on warm water.. let 5 minutes or 10 minutes and scrub on your legs and foot and your armfit
Just for your info. If you have beaten by the leech you need keep it. The leech will come off by himself at one time. If you just taken away its might be injure. This base on my experience. By the way nice jurassic vlog 👏🏼
Flying The Nest a year ago my school make a trip at the gua tempurung and I'm telling you that it brings a wonderful memories till now if you want to go to the gua tempurung I recommend you to check out this insta "guatempurungoutdoorcamp (GTOC)" our school use their service and it's worth it (I'm sorry my English is not that good) they have cave exploraction, water rafting, river tubing , waterfall abselling and hiking also camping (p/s : I'm not promoting instagram just wanna help ^_^ well enjoy your day)
I love these videos! The things you are doing are amazing I just dont think I could. It is so fascinating. For Easter my family gets together for dinner and the kids have an easter egg hunt :) I will be working this year but thats ok!! :)
what kind of volunteer are you? It looks fun doing that kind of volunteering.. :) and you have to put some plastic and wrap it around your ankle so that the leech doesn't get to your whole leg
I wouldn't say that this volunteer project was necessarily "volunteering" it was more of an experience as you don't do any work, more of trip/holiday here at Merapoh. Oh thanks I will remember it for next time!
hye there! *new subscriber here~ glad that u guys are really enjoying malaysia! what u did was so awesome! i've never done 'cave-diving' whatsoever myself hihi. and the leeches are just urghhhh XD (btw the singing to prayers is called as 'azan' :) )
I'm Farhah, a Malaysian, currently studying in Ireland :) yup its a call for prayers. oh and about the sarong, it has different names for male's and female's, the male's one is actually the one that is called as 'sarong' or kain pelikat. as for the women, it's called as kain batik. (kain is 'skirt' in malay) and 'batik' is actually the floral pattern that you can see on the 'skirt' that u r wearing :) *omg im so sorry i get too excited when talking abt malaysia bcus i miss home so much! XD
I completely thought you two would be at songkran but the hotel you two are staying at looks like it may be a little better than getting soaked with water 😋 loving the vlogs as always ❤❤
go to the jungle with a trusted native tribal people, helps to avoid from getting lost at least the malayan jungle native are pretty modernised and dont eat people.
that last scene "TITANIC" where your gf was helping u folding your sarong.😂hey dude,u should go and explore Belum Reserve Forest in north Perak state in Malaysia...its awesome!!
great vlogs stephen! why dont u just use ur vlogs as part of ur work...will sure add more value to it! and i am suprised to see that u guys can really try local home cook dishes..in traditional way! thumbs up for u guys! ah btw.. the loud sound from the mosques are actually calls/reminders to pray..and yes ..muslims need to pray 5 times a day..hence the reminders..haha
Flying The Nest awww!!good to know then!!cant really wait for it!!enjoy malaysia!!😉in case you guys heading to georgetown penang anytime soon do let me know if you guys need any tips or help☺
Well actually, it's not specifically 'Malaysian cake'. Just a commercial cakes from the bakery. Hahaha..... We do have our traditional cake made from eggs + flour and sugar (we call it Bahulu).
Okay! Right on! Yeah I guess near the more modern cities you would get the commercial cakes but in the middle of the jungle I thought was interesting! Bahulu looks like a fun little pastry snack!
It has 9 riddles to tell you where the next one is and at the final position there will be a stash of easter eggs for them.
oh wow! I don't think we have done an easter egg hunt that cool!!
I stayed in the CITY, away from the dangerous jungle!

And dont forget to go to Pasar Siti Khadijah *the seller is just only women. But im gonna advise you guys to wear something "proper" if you dont want some strangers stare at you tho 😂. coz its the most strong Islam states so the culture there is more to modesty. WE LOVE geocaching! We kinda stopped when Pokemon Go came out! Maybe we should re-download it?
Flying The Nest yeah you guys should there would be some amazing ones in all the places that you have been and I actually own one which I created 80m from my house.
oh really? haven't met someone who owns one! Does it go missing a lot?
Flying The Nest no because it is in a small camo case in a little grass hole.
there's a special kind of socks that can protect you from leeches cause it's too slippery for them to climb on to. otherwise just some salt with make them let go quickly.
Literally the best travelogue I've ever seen (I've watched some previous videos) and im subscribing!! **THUMBS UP**
what type of drone u using?
Guys, that opening montage was magical
+lifelikejosie ✨✨
new subscriber here. I've watched your Perhentian Island's vlog and it was super awesome. Funfact, Terengganu is my hometown and I'm currently studying in a university in Penang. You just made me miss my hometown. hahaha. Come and visit Penang, you're gonna love this state!
Absolutely loved this one 🙏🏻
wow, you guys are very brave. there are so many phyton in the cave. Amazing video.keep it up

Happy Easter to you both.. A quiet Easter for me, but I have Chocolate..Very nice Video..
Ooh! Jelly of your easter chocolate, we couldn't find any here :(
+Colour some eggs.. Have a great time.. :)
New intro was cool!
+Gone Adventuring With Victor glad you enjoyed it! Was just a once off fun thing
The cave entrance became muddy and filled with water made your video even cooler I think =)
that leech is quite small. I've met a leech as big as as an adult's index finger in Leech Hill, Kuala Krai. very scary.
16:02 it's sad if one can't get the "peace" they're looking for by listening to those "call"..
Malaysian simple life... things that I love
The new intro tho was DOPE!

I'm Farhah, a Malaysian, currently studying in Ireland :)

What was the Malaysian bday cake made of? Looks interesting :) And beautiful place :)
