Just imagine, no work permits, no increases in property tax. Just build it and enjoy it without all the red tape. Need a built in pool, no longer worry about it taking six months to get the work done. This gentleman can get it all done for you in as little as three days for some money, food and Beer. Simply amazing and we think having an iphone is progress. LOL!!!!!!!

I swear I was thinking the same thing. When he was digging at first there were huge chunks just falling off. I would be thinking that water would make it even more susceptible to break apart.

I wonder what happens when the water becomes stagnant? If any body of water is not moving, insects can lay their eggs on top of the water which will eventually become unsanitary. He did a beautiful job though. Very hard worker.

Ive been trying to figure this out in all of these primitive building videos. They make so many pools but by a weeks time they would all be disgusting. I wonder if they treat the water at all.
they idea is probably to keep the flow on, so no stagnant water. The porosity of the frame will absorb excess water, I think he put the grass also for a reason other than pure decoration.

If I were him, I’d be digging a river downstream from that new pool he’s created so he can let the water flow 24/7 while the newly dug river created more pools in more houses before circling back to the original stream it came from 👌
I’d even follow one of these Patreons if they made a video like that just to see it. A diverted river feeding an entire neighborhood of these jungle build style houses of his, then going back into the river far, far, downstream after having deeded so many houses water sources, pools, features, temples, etc.
Or you can just take the bamboo away.

It's natural in the sense that it's not purified tapwater, and there are no pumps. Artificial waterfalls circulate the same water and use electricity, this one is powered by nature. Plus if that stream is so close by that three sticks(logs??) of bamboo were enough, it might aswell be a natural waterfall.

@Seiber cop Why does it have to be one extreme or the next ? Its a perfectly nice living in the country... I lived in the middle of nowhere in Hokkaido Japan for 6 months and it was great... But I still had all the amenities ... The best choice is usually somewhere in the middle... Ive been to Alaska too, I wouldn't mind living there as well... Try it sometime ;)

Nah, nature would be completely fucked if everyone did this. None of the builds I have seen are even remotely sustainable. This build especially needs a drain so the excess water gets removed. If not, the entire area around the "pool" will be muddy in time, thus changing the habitat of an area and that will make a lot of animals drown. Not to mention that the water will be in a terrible condition filled with nasty bacteria. I know the rock filter system helps and so does the fact that pours in, adding oxygen but I doubt that its a good idea to swim in that. And I doubt, that selfmade concrete will last long if its constantly surrounded by water from all sides. You have to see that these videos are made for showcasing purposes only and clearly not to build actually sustainable homes or swimming pools for that matter. They look amazing but thats about it. Also by having the ledge above the water constantly wetted, it will eventually crumble and break too.
Instead of Big City, Go to small village and enjoy this peaceful home and live a super life.
