Insurance companies, A-holes

Surveyors and insurance companies always manage to cover themselves with get out clauses in the small print

You really do have to read the small print, but please also ask questions when insuring. Do you cover the cost of salvage? Do you need an up to date survey? Does my cover include hotel costs should I find myself homeless due to my boat sinking? Things like that, please ask questions folks, it's very important you get the correct cover for your boat.

So, who is liable. The boat owner has done everything correctly. They paid a professional to survey the boat. The insurance company accepted the risk by receiving money from the owners. Someone needs to pay. I am so sorry for the owners.

Although that may help people, it would also be very unprofessional of us to do that and possibly libelous, unfortunately. We would just ask all fellow boaters to go through the T & C's with a fine tooth comb
