Honestly so much more goes into it like editing, I’ve seen people with less expensive camera gear and get something similar
The key is skill here. I have an expensive camera (long story) but people with entry level can shoot better than me because they’re skillful. Also his editing style is iconic. He can turn any picture epic with just editing alone

The only photos of me are self-portrait so to make them a bit more interesting, I have a couple of tips:
1 - obviously be confident, you're alone, no one is watching you so have fun, if you don't like the pictures, press delete and it never happened
2- personally, I like close-up shots more (70mm and above) so even when the location sucks just isolate a part that you like and put yourself in front of it
3 - shoot through things, basically put something in your foreground and add some depth to your photo (last video I took a picture through the bars of my staircase)
4 - if you're a beginner avoid harsh sunlight, you'll avoid unflattering shadows, basically take your picture in "darker" area, or play with the light itself cast the shadow of an object on your subject (in this case yourself)
5- a bit more difficult, you can try to frame yourself within the picture example trough a window so you'll guide the audience's eyes on the subject of the picture (basically a frame within a frame)

Sheep Feet you will have to do a LOT of free shoots to get your portfolio kind of going. Facebook groups are very helpful too. The only down part of that, is a lot of people are pretty rude on the groups so be careful if you post anything. I mostly just browsed through and see what advice others give.
Get 👏 to 👏 know 👏 your 👏 camera 👏 I cant tell you how many times I’ve shot in auto or I just plain didn’t know what I was doing. I took the time to mess with the settings and practiced a lot on my family to get the settings right, get to know lighting, etc.
Once you’re comfortable with your camera, offer mini sessions, fall is coming up and people LOVE fall Photoshoots .. my mini sessions are 30 minutes and I give back 10 edited images and upload them to my online gallery.

U have a nice face features and eyes... Try something dominant kind of look...lil eye brow lift... And specially in dark clothes like black...
