0:37 Any smoke screen can be used to crawl, the "crawling smoke screen" that Commonwealth ships get is basically just a smoke screen with a long action time and short puffs. It can be helpful to know this in other DDs as well, Pan-Asian and American DDs can do a fair little bit of crawling before their smoke is done placing, and it lets you get firing sooner depending on the situation.

As mentioned, the standard American smoke with it's 30-43.6 second duration works exactly like a "crawling smoke screen" until it's duration is over. If you really don't believe me the training room is easy enough to get into, and you can test it for yourself. Grab any DD, get moving at 1/4th speed and hit your smoke screen. You'll see it keeps up with you perfectly just like a crawling smoke screen, until it's emission time is over. The smoke screen that actually works differently is the Exhaust Smoke screen that's found on the Italian ships(and Kitakami) that keeps up with your ship at max speed.
I was saving up to buy the Colbert when suddenly a wild PQ drops a video on the Vampire and ruins my plans. Glad you did though, I'm enjoying the Vampire much more than I think I would have enjoyed the Colbert.
I got my Vampire II same time RE Village was released , I did 4 regrinds just because of big women and big booty , I have never regret that grind because Vampire II is great :)
Yes the smoke goes for a very long time but if u r in very tough spots where u r outnumbered , this smoke will help out the most in remaining concealed while also doing consistent dmg
Got my Vampire a few weeks back to complete my Pan Euro collection...oops look closer at the flag... oh crap it's a commonwealth DD lol. Oh well I'm still glad to have her. ha
I do so much better in Daring. I am not a DD main so it's no surprise that I struggle with Vampire II whereas in Daring I usually do well. She's just more forgiving.
Lushun or Vampire 2 are my must played ship each time I got pissed torps DD or submarine plaguing my flank while sailing BBs or non radar cruiser in few games. Daring is good at screening flank but any decent pesky Shima can play around her easily.
REQUEST: Halland research mod. I hated my Halland and I mean HATED it. #1 I don't like pure torp boats, they're too hit or miss in that you either have good games or bad games dependent on how lucky you are with your torps. I prefer multi-role consistency with an adaptive and maneuverable DD BUT now (with the mod) I actually enjoy Halland. My playstyle truly requires maneuverability and Halland is lethargic. I'll say "was lethargic": read on. The engine boost is insane, it provides maneuverability, "acceleration", and speed at 42.3 knots and it lasts the same full 2 minutes. Halland game changer! The acceleration is that of UK DDs but with an included high top speed: she's not so vulnerable to torps anymore and she can dance to the shimmy-shimmy shake to escape. This was/is huge for my desired playstyle! The virtual super heal is also awesome, not only does it heal more but I've yet to get "any" unhealable damage: She literally reprints herself. Halland game changer! You also get an additional consumable that frees up 3 commander points in not needing superintendent: you don't need a 5-consumable count, 4 is plenty being in that they are enhanced. The above is in trade for slot 6 so you don't lose Her "good" conceal. For my playstyle and ship set-up the loss of slot 6 is far outweighed by the attributes of the Reasearch mod. Admittedly: it's Player and set-up dependent but definitely worth the look especially if you "hate Halland" as I did/used to. Vampire is a very differing Daring just as Halland with the research mod is a very differing Halland SOOO: REQUESTING YOUR TAKE ON HALLAND with the research mod.

Personally i dont find Vampire so powerful in current radar-sub meta. Its a very good dd but only very good. You can make some decent dmg but one mistake and you go to port. Same like on kleber, you feel the ship, you make great support for you team.

Great boat. I find i get more consistent higher dmg games with Druid though. Tough choice if you've got neither.

I hunt shimas in gearing all the time. It's fine as long as you do it at the right times

Gearing ap hurts elbings quick too. It's crazy sometimes the damage per hit I see in detailed report sometimes
