I had a muffler installed 2 days ago and I got over excited and decided to get a tip welded on. I never had a chance to do a sound comparison and now I don't like the sound of the dual tip that I spent 150 bucks on plus to get it welded on.
What don't you like about the dual tip? I was going to use double wall dual tips for my side exit on an LX570, thought double wall duals were supposed to sound smoother and deeper
@DTM.Desperado My problem probably isn't the double tip. It's probably the muffler itself configured with my vehicle Combined with my air intake. For example, I also drive a new Dodge 1500. I have 30,000 km on it and as Factory just has a deeper rumble.
@Ryan-yi6su I've always had success using glasspack or straight through mufflers for a deep smooth sound. Use longer ones for less rasp and drone and use shorter ones for a more raw sound. Chambered mufflers like magnaflow never gave me the sound I wanted and drone too much. You can also delete a cat or two if you want more volume without changing the muffler
I've liked the slash cut tips too has the Trans-am Vibe. Just never been a fan of the double wall. I got the GoPro Performance Blazer (Wickedflow exhaust has the sale rights now) 304-Stainless 2.5" w/ dual 3.5" 18" length. As for ceramic coating it... is it high heat resistant? It's exhaust so it's going to get hot
I’ve heard, and can get behind, the idea that the double wall provides a more “throaty” sound. Which I’m a fan of, but I’ve never heard of your type of exhaust so I’ll look into it 👀 And for the ceramic coating.. I didn’t think that far ahead 😅. Could be though, I’m no chemist 🤷🏼♂️
I just ordered these tips in black for my lexus LX570. Same V8 as the tundra. Putting on QTP cutouts into dual side exits, getting the exhaust ready for the TRD supercharger
I have a single tip now. Did the dual tip get rid of the deep rumble the single tip has? Like did it have more of a rasp sound leaning towards like a corvette or camaro sound with new tip?
No matter what it'll have a deeper tone because of the upscaling in tip from the 2.5" pipe. Double wall tends to take the edge off of it. Unless they pulled a vacuum on it before welding the inner/outer edges together
That exhaust growls sounds amazing
Sure does!!

get the muffler cut off and a pipe welded in place

Did that ceramic kit come like that or you bought everything the stuff separately? I’m looking at getting these same exact tips
Nice

@@hunterrwiilson I’m running a single Spintech 6000 2.5” with that tip, side exit.
@@NXT_LVL same truck?
Do you have a muffler by chance or do you do a straight pipe
I have a 3rd cat delete, 3in piping, to a Borla XR-1 muffler
Need for my toyota tundra 😊
100%
I just ordered these tips in black for my lexus LX570. Same V8 as the tundra. Putting on QTP cutouts into dual side exits, getting the exhaust ready for the TRD supercharger
Had a question got the same ones but black wonder if i can weld it on instead of bolts on
I’m no welding expert, but I don’t see why not. Would totally do further research before going through with it
What brand of tip is this ?
I just found it on Amazon, link in description, but the brand is Wesdon
Straight piped ? What’s the rest of your setup?
This setup is a 3rd cat delete with a borla XR-1 muffler on a 3” pipe.
@@hunterrwiilson did you get a code after deleting the third cat? I thought I did if not
@@jace6267 the third cat isn’t monitored. Check and you’ll see no O2 censor
Hey, what type of muffler do you have to help have an aggressive sound?
I have a 3rd cat delete, 3in pipe, paired with a Borla XR-1 muffler! But I have something that sounds even better, video coming hopefully soon! 😉
So you have a link for that ceramic coating? Please send
I do not unfortunately, but if you comment back and remind me I’ll tell you the name when I get home tonight!
I have a single tip now. Did the dual tip get rid of the deep rumble the single tip has? Like did it have more of a rasp sound leaning towards like a corvette or camaro sound with new tip?
Pretty much, yeah! And honestly it’s really nice when you get into it, as seen in the comparisons.

Is your muffler stock?
I think in this video I had a Borla XR-1 muffler
It’s too quiet for my likening sounds good, looks killer though!
A factor to include is that it’ll depend on what type of exhaust you’re running! But yeah the aesthetic of the tip was my main concern
@@hunterrwiilsonI’m running true dual catless with an x pipe muffler from magnaflow! out the sides of the bed at 45s with 4 inch angle cut tips.

Don’t have the link on hand but it’s in the description of my Borla XR-1 muffler video!
