Dispersed Camping in the Ozarks: Hiking to Hidden Waterfalls

- Were dispersed camping in the Ozark National Forest with our camp setup next to Hurricane Creek. The first night Kellie cooks her baked three cheese macaroni. Cody hikes into the forest of the Ozarks in search of waterfalls. After a few hours of bushwhacking, he finds an epic hidden waterfall. That evening, Kellie cooks her Spicy Pepperoni Pizza with caramelized red onions in the Dutch Oven. She has cooked this many times at home, but never camping. So this was a first! The next day we hike to the beautiful Pam's Grotto Waterfall. We finish our weekend camping adventure with a short, but hard hike to the Arkansas Sphinx with a breathtaking view above the Ozark Mountains.

My ZEN moment of the week!!!! And that PIZZA....!!!!!!!!! What a weekend and what a BEAUTIFUL State we live in!! I Love Cody’s excitement in the beauty he finds. We don’t hike much but rode the side x side all around that area. Love the 60’ falls and frog bayou areas.
That first waterfall Cody discovered was like something out of a dream. The Ozarks have some really amazing water features. Kelly's pizza looks so delicious. I've always wanted to get a cast iron dutch oven for baking on the campfire. It's next on our list now!

I really think my wife and I are considering spending a week in Arkansas just exploring and finding new places to camp. We live in northwest Missouri and we honeymooned in Eureka Springs and loved it!! Disperse camping just looks like so much fun and you all make everyone realize that little gems/oasis's are out there where you can go and relax. And the diamond mine video, we must do. Another epic video! Great scenery, great camp site, and great cooking! Kelly's cooking is inspirational for when we go camping. Hamburgers and hot dogs are ok for when the grandkids are with us. When it is just us, I like attempting to duplicate some of Kelly's recipes.

We just went to Roaring River State Park in MO (near AR line) and I swear all the hiking is Up HILL. LOL Steep stuff but great hiking.

That 'za looks delish!! I heard you say you get the tap water hot for your at home dough, I work in water safety and never knew this either..you should always use the cold water line for anything you consume, hot water dissolves lots of really gross stuff in the pipes like heavy metals which don't "cook out". Just passing the knowledge along 💙 stay exploring!!!

Cody & Kelly, as always another great video. We stayed in the Hurricane Creek last Labor Day and it was just magical. I love those granite rock shelves in the creek. So nice for sitting and soaking. Kelly, that pizza looked AMAZING. Honestly, like restaurant quality. I have to say though, I was cracking up at Kelly's comments when she was alone at camp. I'm the same way, I get bored when my hubs ain't around. Cody that waterfall, omg, how lucky of a find. Did you know it was there or was it a total surprise? Thanks again for sharing your adventures with us.

Another great video. How do you like the new stove? Can you get a low flame for simmering? I am looking into getting one and I am curious how it is doing. Most high pressure stoves are terrible with a low flame. Thanks,
Low flame works good. It is finicky but it works
@@CodyandKellie good to hear as planning on getting one in next few weeks. I know the Camp Chef is a great stove but hard to get flame low for some cooking. I guess it is like your home stove and you have to get use to it. Thanks for responding as ya'll are always very helpful.

Maybe use the lid of the Dutch oven as a griddle and tent it for pizza that way you don't have to figure out how to dig it out of the deep oven.

I know Cody was having a blast however the whole time I was remembering this movie I watched were some engineer dude that was up in Peru or something slipped and fell in some water and cracked his head and there was no one there to call the hospital or ambulance. I don't want to rain on Cody's parade but one you were alone which might happen from time to time and two he was going across slippery rocks in the water we won't be one thing if he was on solid ground but it's another thing when he's crossing water it's probably safe if you guys go together.
