This song is older now than the Pinkerton album was when this was released. And yet I still think of it as "that new Weezer song" because I am that elderly.
I'm actually shocked that this isn't a song that they don't play (ever) in concert. It's one of the best songs they've ever written, and it's fun as hell. If I was in the band, I'd say that we need to play this song every night. I adore early Weezer, but this song (IMO) works just as well to me as any song in their first two albums...and I listened to those first two albums to absolute death.
its more than likely bc of how much shit Rivers has to put into it. That shit is hell on a persons voice. I can barely go from the falsetto to the deep bit after. It took them forever to record bc of that. Rivers is great man, but, I doubt he could do it without fault in concert. The ones he has done live, either he skips other parts before or after it to save his voice, or he just sounds really off key from the track. Shits hard homes
i know im asking randomly but does anybody know of a method to get back into an instagram account..? I stupidly forgot my password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
This video was recorded through MTV, because the song was selected for some award on MTV. Shame the original high quality version is impossible to find.
What a classic! Not in the sense of like My Name Is Jonas, Surf Wax America, Holiday, El Srocho, Pink Triangle, Tired of Sex type of way but just classic as in Queen was an indie nerd rock band who loved to write power pop epics! Even though when weezer first came out in the early to mid nineties it was highschool and college Gen X’ers even elementary and middle school kids that were the last of Gen X years born who were listening but they had almost a second coming when green album came out and all the millennials heard it and started researching all the older stuff. Point being that this song became the millennials Bohemian Rhapsody!!! As a Gen X’er myself I have to say Weezer will always be our band but I am glad that the usually tasteless music and art millennials like Weezer but for a whole different reason yet can still sing Blue Album word for word!!! Long Live #RiversCuomo #BrianBell #PatWilson #MattSharp #MikeyWelshR.I.P. And the king of E string octave slide bombs #ScottyShriner =w= 🎸🔊🔊🔊🔊🌊⚡️💸⚽️🥃🚬🧨🗯WEEZER =w=
13 years later and the choral part still gives me chills/happy tears everytime
