I am glad you liked it! Last Wednesday I saw the Tallis Scholars once more in Amsterdam with some different singers in Het Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ. Fantastic ensemble.

The nice thing is that we will attend tonight another concert of the Tallis Scholars www.muziekgebouw.nl/agenda/7524/

It never fails, there is always someone with a chronic cough in the audience.

Yes the acoustics of Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam is terribly good . Consider there can go 2100 visitors to a concert there. The place is not intended for chamber music. I always stay home and give my ticket to my neighbour when I caught a cold but unfortunately not everyone :-(

I did not know it at the time, but on that first of May 2016 a good friend of mine passed away, so the concert got still an extra dimension for me.

Wonderful music. But were the audience recruited from a hospital for respiratory diseases?

No, we always like to cough in Het Concertgebouw, especially during a quite a capella performance to test the mental resilience of the singers. Normally it is considered as a sign of appreciation ;-)

@TheSauce Group We are still looking for a good sauce to cure these people forever. The acoustics of this hall (The Concertgebouw) is so that you can hear everything and with 2000 people it is hard to be silent.

@TheSauce Group OK, but it is not fair to blame me personally for the rudeness of 2000 other people ;-)

So beautiful to listen - but questionable in interpretation of Renaissance music: a little slow time in general & not so energetic as it could be (for instance Tallis' Loquebantur is magnificent in vocal technique and intonation but vanilla in result) plus some defects in pronunciation, for instance in "Alleluia" the first double "l" is declaimed with little sound...

Paola Massetti, I’m afraid you’ve missed the forest for the trees here.

      Agree. "Nesciens.." is unsufferably slow.
