You have certainly recharged your battery but that is not remarkable. With no information about the battery type, its capacity when new and its capacity now, you show nothing in numbers to support your claim to have "repaired" the battery.
Assuming there are no "dead" cells, doing nothing else but just charging the battery for 3 hours will create a surface charge of 13+ volts as shown. Yes it will run a 12V LED strip for a few seconds because it requires only a fraction of an amp - but put a real load on it (like starting a 12V motor) and it will fail. The rest of the video (cleaning, adding hot water, "battery" water, etc.) is just for show and will change nothing.

That the voltimeter indicate 13.3 volts for a battery of 12vdc 7 AHor 9 Ah, it doesn't implied that the battery is working. If you want to check it you have to add a ligth bulb of 12v 50 watts as a charge and after that you have to check that the voltage is more than 12 volts. Probably for low charges as a led light tube it's working.
I basically had the same problem with my battery. Last month when I was on my way to the store, my car died so I got my multimeter out and I checked the voltage on the battery and it was 9.7378 Volts so I thought “what the heck is going on with this battery”, the next thing I knew I seen some smoke coming from the tips of the battery terminals. I was suspicious on what was going on and I couldn't believe it because this battery was only barely 16 years old which I consider fairly new in today's society, so basically what I want to do is try to clean up the battery with some soap and salt solution and then I might put it on the charger for two or three minutes at a high current rate just to see if it will hold a charge. I'm not sure if that's going to help the battery or not but one thing's for certain before I go out and buy a new battery, I'm definitely going to try these two methods that I suggested. Now on the other hand I could swap the battery out with one from my 1962 Chevy Tahoe but I'm not sure that my old lady would let me do that, so basically what I need to do is first, I'm going to check all the air in the tires before I monkey around with the battery. Then I'm probably going to run a few errands around town down and the next thing I want to do is get some paint and paint the battery terminals because I don't think they look very good without the neon yellow color look on them. If all goes well, I am planning to do a few other things to the terminals. Next after that chore, is get some of that distilled water and pour on the outside of the battery to try to clean up a lot of the dirt and dust its accumulated over all these years. If I have time what I'll do after that it's try to clean both sides of the mirrors on my 1965 Ford Bronco because I've noticed while I was driving that it's hard to see what kind of traffic is coming up behind me. I was having a problem with the battery when I put the headlights on low beam and then when I tried to switch the high-beam I noticed that the voltage excursions were jumping around so I went out and I bought another set of test leads to use on my digital multimeter and there was no difference at all, so I think I may borrow my friend Tony Jones's multimeter just to check those voltage excursions to see if that is normal. Nobody really explained to me how to test a DC voltage excursions when the battery is not in its prime. I am all on my own doing this. A lot of people have contacting me and they said that they've had that problem once or twice and maybe even three times in their lifetime with their batteries but they did something totally different. What they did was loosen the terminals first then they carefully remove the battery and hoisted it out to get rid of all the debris and dirt that's accumulated after all these years then they put it on a slow charge which I believe they told me was 32 milliamps for 6 days, 3 hours and 54 seconds. Next they took the battery caps off and added some distilled water, which they claimed that they bought it at their local Walmart store. I think, if I can remember correctly, they said it was .99 cents plus the sales tax. Can you believe that just 99cents? That's a real good price for one full gallon of distilled water. Speaking of water, yesterday I helped my neighbor that lives to the right side of my house, fill their swimming pool for the new season. It literally took 7 hours to fill. I am not sure how many gallons it is. I have met people in my lifetime that had no idea that there were 4 quarts of water in a gallon jug. They just assumed it was a gallon only. I am not really good at math but I do have a calculator on my cell phone. Speaking of math, it takes me back to grade 11 in high school when my teacher, Mr. Lowry gave us a sneak quiz on algebra. I failed it because I didn't understand what that was all about. I spent most of my high school time stoned and kind of out of it. Some of my classmates were very good at math, and it even showed when they got their report cards. I may have gotten of the path of whatever we were initially talking about. I think it had something to do with blue cheese. No, I remember now, it was car batteries. I never could figure out why they put car batteries in the front of the vehicle and not inside the vehicle. It would be so much easier to work on them, especially in the rain, if they were inside the vehicle. Doesn't that make more sense to you too? Well anyhow, batteries are pretty heavy for their size and some people can't lift them very good. I had a fried, Tony Smith who had asthma and once he tried to lift out his car battery, and sneezed, and the battery fell out of his hands and landed on his right baby toe. It broke the small bones in that toe of his. I called his mothers step daughter Ann but she was not home. So I then called his brothers uncle Fred and told him about what just happened to Tony's toe. He seamed like he was drunk and started laughing at me and said “I don't care about that Bast#rds toe”. I got mad and hung up on him immediately. From that day on, I never spoke to Tony's brother's uncle Fred. I never really liked him in the first place because when Tony and I were 13 years old, we were at a softball game and Fred walked over to us and farted right in our faces. That was not very nice of that old pervert. I heard some stories about him when he was about 20 years old that would make you cringe if you heard them, but I can't get into that right now because I have to finish up my posting here on you tube. I hope I have given you folks some good advice on having some of your problems solved in a timely manner. I like to help out when I can if it is at all possible. I am out for 3 more hours so I want to go now and get a hot dog and a bottle of grape soda. I need to look around for a ride so I can get back to my padded room at the Sinclair Insane Asylum. I hope Dr. Dilbert will not be mad at me for sneaking out....
A safer way is to replace the battery altogether with a cat (which always lands on its feet) and a slice of buttered toast (that always lands buttered side down). Strap the buttered toast to the back of the cat and install on an armature with good quality ball bearing raceways. Use a pulley or gear reduction system to increase the speed to 1400 RPM and run a small 12VDC generator. This will all fit in a box roughly the same size as a battery and will never need recharged.
This is very dangerous! Do not do this! Plus putting a volt meter on it without any kind of a load on it does not mean a thing. Put a 9 amp load on it and it would probably drop the voltage down to almost nothing.
@@ricksanchez6411 I think the acid was in the whitish crud around vent caps that he cleaned out. The black stuff was probably some kind of oxide on the lead which coated and insulated the plates. There are tests you can perform with test strips to determine how much acid is in the electrolyte (water/acid solution). Love the video and music. Keep up the good work. People that don’t like the music can just turn the volume down. Your not talking anyways so what’s the big deal?
Sure you can put a small surface charge back on a dead battery. But what is it's total capacity? It sure won't be 9 Amp hours, probably much less than 1. Also, a new battery of that capacity can actually start the engine of a small car. I bet that one can't. Its internal resistance will be way too high due to plate deterioration. I played with this sort of thing for months, and once the plates have been eaten away or heavily calcified, the battery is simply dead. It's easier to build one from scratch or just go buy a replacement.
I assure you that if your battery plate is damaged then it is not possible to fix your battery again. And if it can be done, it will only last for a short time. And if the battery plate is not bad then you can fix the battery through the process shown in my video.🥰
Excellent production (but for the music 😏 )... But could I stress health and safety most be observed.. The use of gloves and safety glasses would be advised..
( I apologize for using such a song.) Your suggestion is acceptable and I didn't read gloves and glasses as you suggested because I didn't have them with me at the time.🫤
Yes, other methods are given on several videos. But this one is the best. And nobody used Hot Water to drain out the dirt and residued collected in the battery over time. Yes, there is a limp on this video. The battery was charged for three years; with what kind of device or charger The ratings should have been mentioned about the 3 hours charging. More or less this was a good video. Thanks!
1) Deionized water during flushing should be used to minimize depolarization 2) Vcc should be greater than 12 to acqiure a difference, what supply voltage should be ideal for charging ?
Usually they die from never being discharged as in emergency lighting which keeps a constant voltage on the battery. You would be suprised at how many buildings have a dead back up battery for their emergency lighting. Those lights are intended to guide you from the building and unless the power is restored, go dead in a few hours. Even the quick test button on them doesn't verify the battery is capable of maintaining sufficient lighting for long. I recommend replacing any battery that has failed, its not worth dying over. No way I would attempt this. Just an all around DUMB IDEA.
It is only good if you leave battery with no contact and 'load test' the next day. If there is 75-90%, then you are good to go, if not it is still weak and need a DC Welder to boost (to awaken plates) and 'add new Battery acid' and re test . If that doesn't work, junk it. Just keep battery acid, cannot buy anymore.
NO Electronics and any liquids should be kept well apart. If you want to see things rust before your eyes then spill milk onto anything electrical. And yes - I speak from experience as a techie.
When we checked next day with our using the battery voltage is automatically reduced to 9.5V from 12.5V.another days again reduced to 8.5V. Voltage is not in constant level with out using in the recharged battery.
You need to mind the acid buddy. Be careful. Feels like water but will continue doing damage. Put a drop on a pair of old jeans and check it a few days later.
LMAO, "Battery Water", what a harmless sounding substance. Anyway, that dark stuff dumped out of the battery with the water is Lead(IV) Oxide. That is what the positive plates of the battery are made of. That battery is no longer serviceable. Just replace it with a good battery.
All that violent shaking will destroy whats left of the lead plates..putting a water jet up there might be better. Its not gonna last long after that repair but it will get sold as it will show full charge

Anybody with experience and a lick of sense will know that using a volt meter to check the performance of a battery is all WRONG. A proper battery test is with a load meter. You didn't fix this battery. When the cells are gone, they're gone. You might have done some good, idk, if you'd replaced the water with sulfuric acid.
This is a false Work. 1st wehave to think, why the battary iട getting damaged .B, cos of the Chemicals pasted in the Surface of the plates are getting wear and tier due to the Chemical re actions, it can't be repaired or replaced by any addition of water, acid or salt.So Such attempts are a time waste.

@@laurabarnes3295 Maybe, but probably not. Someone else here stated it better(about the plates being expired). Most car batteries will last five to seven years and then it's time for a replacement. Go get a Toyota battery. They'll last the full seven years. I'm proof positive!
Once you have 'awaken old battery', it needs prolong re charge / use or it will sit idle and sulphation will again destroy battery. I connect to existing car battery ( if you have space) and the alternator will charge car battery first and in charge your 2nd battery ( need to add a connection switch if you don't have an auto relay switch) this works like a battery jump starter when first battery is weak. But if you use car a lot, the 2nd battery can reach 99% constant. Be aware to switch off if car not drive for long periods or it will drain both batteries.
Most SLA Batteries are sealed with epoxy. They just don't have a top that snaps off. These batteries ain't that expensive, just buy a new one and recycle the old one. Battery water has no magic. It's just deionized water, and it's not cheap.

Although unclear, this appears to be an AGM (absorbed glass mat) battery. Typically over time the small amount of water/acid dissipates/evaporates/leaks out of the battery. The white material around the filler cap is used to absorb the liquid in such cases to prevent damage from the sulfuric acid. I have found that adding small amounts of distilled water or clean rain water to each cell the life of the battery can be extended considerably. These batteries particularly in scooter applications start to give shorter run times, and deteriorate to the point of useless. However you can start by adding about 20 to 30 drops with an eyedropper or syringe roughly 5 to 10 milliliters. Then recharge/run to dead a few times, and you may find yourself on the road again. Each run time usually gets longer till it is back to a decent run time. The plastic cover which is glued on, can simply be held in place with a few strips of electrical tape on the edges. ☺♥†♪♫ 5-12-2023

Good work, and good idea

battery water is also known by battery acid..
Ok felicitări ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Would putting the battery upside down in an ultrasonic cleaner work ?
Love the video and music. Keep up the good work. People that don’t like the music can just turn the volume down. Your not talking anyways so what’s the big deal?
Ok,👍 thanks!
Very good friend
Thank you very much
Sure you can put a small surface charge back on a dead battery.

Yes, other methods are given on several videos. But this one is the best. And nobody used Hot Water to drain out the dirt and residued collected in the battery over time. Yes, there is a limp on this video. The battery was charged for three years; with what kind of device or charger
The ratings should have been mentioned about the 3 hours charging. More or less this was a good video. Thanks!
Thank you for a nice comment. And the charger I used in this video is a 6v one amp charger.

Huhhh hahaha how do u charge a 12v battery with a 6v source charger doesn't make sense?
1) Deionized water during flushing should be used to minimize depolarization
2) Vcc should be greater than 12 to acqiure a difference, what supply voltage should be ideal for charging ?
is drying for 2days important?

Usually they die from never being discharged as in emergency lighting which keeps a constant voltage on the battery. You would be suprised at how many buildings have a dead back up battery for their emergency lighting. Those lights are intended to guide you from the building and unless the power is restored, go dead in a few hours. Even the quick test button on them doesn't verify the battery is capable of maintaining sufficient lighting for long. I recommend replacing any battery that has failed, its not worth dying over. No way I would attempt this. Just an all around DUMB IDEA.
Yeah you are right...
But there is no life or death involved with my electric start push mower. what's there to lose?
Thanks a lot ❤
You're welcome 😊
That music is enough to drive a person insane ...

Should acid be added??
I've tried this many times and never had any luck at all
Then probably your battery plate is damaged. For which you are not getting its results.👍
Can u help me please ? Even i got a battery name Eaton i can use for it pls ?
yes.. you can use for led acid battery.

Electronics and any liquids should be kept well apart.
What sort of charging device did you used to bring the battery up to 13v.
charger making video already uploaded my channel.. please go my channel and watch this video..
You need to mind the acid buddy. Be careful. Feels like water but will continue doing damage. Put a drop on a pair of old jeans and check it a few days later.
Yes, acid is a very toxic and corrosive liquid. If the test is done as you say, the jeans will be ripped.
Non of these rules apply in India.
LMAO, "Battery Water", what a harmless sounding substance. Anyway, that dark stuff dumped out of the battery with the water is Lead(IV) Oxide. That is what the positive plates of the battery are made of. That battery is no longer serviceable. Just replace it with a good battery.
Description what you full first is the water ? I mean you first wash it with water and leave it 2 days for dry ? Help me
can use long long time?
You can use it fairly often, but you can't use it for a long time.
All that violent shaking will destroy whats left of the lead plates..putting a water jet up there might be better.
Its not gonna last long after that repair but it will get sold as it will show full charge
It cannot be said that this battery will be completely correct, it can be said that it will be correct from 100% to 70%.
Nice work
Thanks..
Seen distilled water been put and then charged well how does this work without acid involved.
No potable water was supplied to the battery, the water used in this battery was acid..

IF YOU USED BATTERY WATER,,ISN'T BATTERY ACID,,,THAT BATTERY FILD BY ACID ,,AM I CORRECT ,,???..
I have not used any separate water for the battery in this video. The water used in batteries is acid. which we usually apply in batteries.
@@AbdulAzeezKazzy so how will I restore mine if doesn't hold charge
Even if is charge and it says 13.4 the moment I put just a bulbs it will drain to 10.9 in just 10min
So sulfuric acid will do the. Work
@@laurabarnes3295 Maybe, but probably not. Someone else here stated it better(about the plates being expired). Most car batteries will last five to seven years and then it's time for a replacement. Go get a Toyota battery. They'll last the full seven years. I'm proof positive!
@@SerpentOfTheWound mine is just 3 years and is not a car battery is a solar battery 200ah
WHICH BATTERY IS THIS ? UPS ?
You have to measure capacity batery after your repair 0.1C(I*time discharge), that to be get result
Great job, that was a lot of work 👌

Most SLA Batteries are sealed with epoxy. They just don't have a top that snaps off. These batteries ain't that expensive, just buy a new one and recycle the old one. Battery water has no magic. It's just deionized water, and it's not cheap.

Dear sir, how to dispose the acid contaminated water you removed washing after clean that cells, can I flush in go toilet?
be cearfully..becuse this is acid
What was the liquid you put there? Urine?
Battery acid..
Why did you not add any acid back in, just distilled water?
The water in the bottle was not drinking water. It was a type of battery acid. This type of acid is available at any electrical shop...

All you need to do is paint it black -!- will work forever-!- than find one of your buddies with that shade tree -!-
Why did you put the bicycle tube seals on only three of the battery fluid openings, and caps only back on three?
I thought you were going to use those to seal all six openings.
On😇😄😀 my battery you could see that three caps were broken. Due to which I didn't have that cap and I cleverly made three caps from the bicycle tube. If your battery cap is damaged somewhere like this, then you can follow this trick wisely.
U made patches, not caps, did not u ?
voltage ok but what about curren? and you flash out all acid with hot wter and let it dry for 2 days then you add high quality battery water so how can you charge it with out electrolite?
For effective repairing change all plates with new one
Plates cannot be changed on this types batteries. Since the plates cannot be changed, these batteries have to be fixed.💯
