- Gov is stuck in a judicial crisis against the CJP Bandial who has asked the ECP to hold election by 14th May. The result of this conflict will have a negative impact on judicial independence, political stability & future electoral prospects of the PDM coalition.

The delay in elections is for sure the IMF funding expectation - but as you said, the inflationary pressures might be so back breaking for the common man that the IMF funds headlines would do little for people to vote for PML. At the moment, I see that everything is going in favor for PTI. However, what happens after PTI would come to power, is anybody's guess.
Expecting that the common man gets any benefit from these elections is a far fetched dream at this stage.

Article 224 (1B) (2) When the National Assembly or a Provincial Assembly is dissolved, a general election to the Assembly shall be held within a period of NINETY DAYS after the dissolution, and the results of the election shall be declared not later than fourteen days after the conclusion of the polls.
(Notwithstanding constitution is a joke in Pakistan)
Why the assemblies were dissolved and were it constitutional to dissolve assemblies ??
@@MrSofiazam Article 112 : The Governor shall dissolve the Provincial Assembly if so advised by the Chief Minister; and the Provincial Assembly shall, unless sooner dissolved, stand dissolved at the expiration of forty-eight hours after the Chief Minister has so advised.
Plus: LHC rejected two petitions that challenged the dissolution of assemblies.
You are right , according to constitution if someone has intention to vote to his opposit party should be disqualified. And that what court did with 25 members of assembly to bring the CM of its choice . Everything is according to the law 👍👍

Sir during whole discussion you forgot to address the constitutional obligations of elections with in 90days.
Also the Suo Moto was on ECP extending the date which is not in their jurisdiction.

Horrible analysis! Too opinionated. The argument that the High Court is currently listening to the case, is reasonable and those justices had a right to make their decision (I think, for judicial economy). Now, the Chief Justice has a right to listen to cases on a suo moto notice basis, and this one case is of great importance to Pakistan. I don't blame any of the justices for their actions, except maybe the justice who tried to counter the Chief Justice's power, when he knows best how things work in the Supreme Court. Now, let's cut through the garbage legal drama that is designed to keep people distracted from the simple reality here - the government is cheating Imran Khan and preventing elections because they know what the result is going to be, and they know what they are doing is illegal and unconstitutional. Looking at this crisis in any other way, and especially framing the issue so that people are distracted with this drama or that drama, does, in my opinion, a great disservice to the people of Pakistan. Enough is enough. Here, the law is not vague or ambiguous; it doesn't need further interpretation. There only needs to be elections according to the law. No justice ever ruled against the 90-days point, ever! There is no play room here. If anyone insists on spitting on the Supreme Court's decision, then there should be contempt of court charges against them at the very least, and maybe even Article 6, if they take things that far!
Where is in constitution that a CM can dissolve assembly on the recommendation of party chairman ?? Where in constitution that court can disqualify the assembly members just on accusation that they are not loyal to their party ?. The judiciary made this whole mess , now enjoy the music.😄
@@MrSofiazam I think you are misinformed about a few things. For one, the President of Pakistan, who is of the PTI party and not affected by the Vote of No Confidence of 8th March 2022, is the one who can dissolve assemblies after consulting with the CM (for provincial) and the PM (for national), and also provided that the Supreme Court has no objection. The President has been given this power by the 8th Amendment initially, then taken away by the 13th Amendment, then restored by the 17th Amendment, and then finally modified by the 18th Amendment, but the President cannot dissolve the NA unilaterally. If Arif Alvi had the power to dissolve the National Assembly without consulting the new PM Shahbaz Sharif, he would have done so right away, and the matter would have gone to new elections for NA last year. He may dissolve provincial or national assemblies, but only with the agreement of the CM or PM ("consultation"). Imran Khan, Chairman of PTI, worked with Arif Alvi to dissolve provincials assemblies in Punjab and KPK, where PTI already had majority. The CMs had to agree, and they did because Imran Khan is the Chairman of PTI.
